205 Live on February 6, 2018, was an excellent show. 205 Live is a show where the cruiserweights take center stage as they will risk their bodies to entertain us wrestling fans. Let’s break it down:

We start off the show with a video package highlighting Drake Maverick being the new General Manager for 205 Live, Cedric Alexander Vs. Gran Metalik, and Tyler Bate Vs. TJP in the first-round matches of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament. This is good as it shows what happened last week as we continue the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament heading into Wrestlemania 34. Well produced video package here.

Kalisto Vs. Lince Dorado in a first-round match of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament was excellent. Mark out moment! As Kalisto was making his way to the ring, he cut a video promo on Instagram saying that he’s looking to become WWE Cruiserweight Champion once again by winning this tournament and he told Lince Dorado that they’re friends and will still be friends after the match, but he’s looking to win as he told Lince Dorado may the best man win. Kalisto showing some respect to his friend Lince Dorado. Drake Maverick was watching the match backstage. Let’s talk about the match itself.

Lince Dorado did excellent in this match as he wants to become WWE Cruiserweight Champion. His suicide dive into a cannonball senton on Kaliso to the outside was impressive to see. His back handspring stunner and shooting star press on Kalisto were executed perfectly. Excellent work by Lince Dorado here.

Kalisto did excellent in this match as well as he wants to become WWE Cruiserweight Champion once again. His reverse sunset flip powerbomb pin on Lince Dorado from the top rope was extremely impressive and his back springboard reverse hurricanrana on Lince Dorado looked like it broke Lince Dorado’s neck. Excellent work by Kalisto here.

The ending of the match came when Kalisto hit Salida del Sol (Standing sitout shiranui) on Lince Dorado for the pin and win. A great win for Kalisto as he moves on to the quarter-finals of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament. Lucha! Lucha! Lucha! Lucha!

Excellent match and Kalisto moves on to the quarter-finals of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.

We then get a vignette of Roderick Strong and it was good. Roderick Strong talked about himself as well as his childhood and how professional wrestling changed his life as he’s not doing it for himself anymore, but for his family as well.

Nice to see a vignette of Roderick Strong here for those people who have never seen Roderick Strong before to get a sense to see who he is as a wrestler. This is where I would mark out here, but I’ll save that later. Well produced vignette here.

The backstage segment between Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali was good. Cedric Alexander was backstage talking about he won the first-round of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament and looks to become WWE Cruiserweight Champion, but Mustafa Ali appeared and told that he should watch his back because who knows who might appear behind you as he left. Cedric Alexander then told Mustafa Ali that he will get a Lumbar Check if he sees him in the ring as the first-round continues.

I would love to see Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali again and hope that happens in the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament. Good backstage segment here.

The backstage promo from TJP was good. TJP was backstage as he checked on his phone on Twitter where people are saying to him that the match he has last week against Tyler Bate was great and amazing, but he cheated to win. TJP then said that he has worked hard to get to the point where he is today, but people are starting to turn on him. He then said that from now on, he’s not doing it for the fans, but doing it for himself.

TJP is looking to make a name on his own as he looks to reclaim the WWE Cruiserweight Championship once again. Let’s see if he can do it again. Good backstage promo here.

We then get an announcement that next week, it will be Akira Tozawa Vs. Mark Andrews in a first-round of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament. Mark Andrews is making his return to 205 Live next week! Mark out moment! Man, this tournament is including the WWE UK guys as well which is awesome so I’m looking forward to that match next week as it should be fun.

We then get a vignette of Mark Andrews and it was good. It was the same vignette of Mark Andrews back in the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament with some clips from his work in the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament and NXT. Looking forward to seeing him again next week against Akira Tozawa.

The backstage promo from Akira Tozawa was good. Akira Tozawa was backstage as he said that he will face Mark Andrews next week as he said that Mark Andrews is a good talent, but he can’t beat him. He then asked an employee on who will win next week as the employee said Mark Andrews, but Akira Tozawa told the employee that he doesn’t know the answer to that because he’s going to win next week and when that happens, you’re fired as he left while smiling.

Akira Tozawa doing that “You’re Fired” shtick is quite funny and entertaining. Looking forward to Akira Tozawa Vs. Mark Andrews next week as it should be a fun match. Good backstage promo here.

We then see Hideo Itami and Roderick Strong backstage warming up as they set to face each other coming up next. This match between these two is going to be amazing and I can’t wait.

The backstage segment between Drake Maverick, Drew Gulak, and Tony Nese was good. Drake Maverick was on his phone until Drew Gulak and Tony Nese came in as they all shook hands as Drew Gulak asked Drake Maverick if he’s asking them here to have a better 205 Live as Drake Maverick thanked him for the flowers. Drake Maverick then told Drew Gulak and Tony Nese that they used to be serious competitors in the ring, but now, they’re just making fun of themselves. He then told them that they will face each other next week in the first-round of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament to see who wants it more.

Man, Drake Maverick talking down to Drew Gulak and Tony Nese like that. That’s not cool. However, I expect Drew Gulak and Tony Nese to step up their game next week as it should be an interesting match between the two. Good backstage segment here.

Hideo Itami Vs. Roderick Strong in a first-round match of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament was excellent. Mark out moment! Roderick Strong has made an appearance on 205 Live! Mark out moment! Don’t know if it’s a one-time thing, but great to see Roderick Strong here.

We then see a video promo from Hideo Itami as he said Roderick Strong is a great competitor, but he’s going to win as he’s planning to head to Wrestlemania 34 and become the new WWE Cruiserweight Champion. Hideo Itami making his case and we’ll see if Hideo Itami can become WWE Cruiserweight Champion at Wrestlemania 34.

Hideo Itami did excellent in this match as he tried to become the next WWE Cruiserweight Champion. His springboard knee on the back of Roderick Strong’s head who was on the middle rope looked devastating. His avalanche sitout suplex slam on Roderick Strong was well executed. His running baseball dropkick on Roderick Strong to the corner looked like it broke Roderick Strong’s face. Excellent work by Hideo Itami here.

Roderick Strong did excellent in this match as well as he wants to become WWE Cruiserweight Champion at Wrestlemania 34. His dropkick on Hideo Itami was executed perfectly and his one-armed powerbomb on Hideo Itami on the ring apron looked devastating. His running high knee on Hideo Itami to the corner followed by the Cloud Nine (Belly-to-back facebuster) was a nice combination. Excellent work by Roderick Strong here.

The ending of the match came when Roderick Strong hit End of Heartache (Vertical suplex into a double knee backbreaker) on Hideo Itami for the pin and win. Wow, I didn’t expect Roderick Strong to win here so I guess he’s a part of the cruiserweight division going forward or it may be for the tournament, but we’ll see. Either way, a great win for Roderick Strong. Roddy Vs. The World!

Excellent match and Roderick Strong moves on to the quarter-finals of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.

Overall, an excellent show for the sixty-third episode of 205 Live. It’s great to see the cruiserweights with more focus and attention here and it’s only going to get better from here. Looking forward to it.
