205 Live on February 13, 2018, was a great show. 205 Live is a show where the cruiserweights take center stage as they will risk their bodies to entertain us wrestling fans. Let’s break it down:

We start off the show with a video package highlighting the first-round matches of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament including Kalisto Vs. Lince Dorado and Hideo Itami Vs. Roderick Strong as well as hyping up the first-round matches of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament including Akira Tozawa Vs. Mark Andrews and Tony Nese Vs. Drew Gulak. Looking forward to seeing how the first-round matches for this tournament will go. Well produced video package here.

Akira Tozawa Vs. Mark Andrews in a first-round match of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament was great. Mark Andrews has made his return to 205 Live! Mark out moment! Great to see Mark Andrews in this tournament as I’m interested to see if his appearance is a one-time thing, but we’ll see.

As Akira Tozawa was making his entrance to the ring, Dasha Fuentes was interviewing Mark Andrews backstage about how does it feel to come from the UK to compete in the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament. Mark Andrews said that he felt honored to be a part of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament because he’s representing the UK in this tournament and this is his opportunity to be a part of Wrestlemania 34 as he left heading into the ring. Nice to see Mark Andrews talk before the match happened so let’s talk about the match itself.

Akira Tozawa did great in this match as he wants to go to Wrestlemania 34 and become WWE Cruiserweight Champion once again. His suicide dive on Mark Andrews was impressive and scary-looking since Akira Tozawa almost his head to the floor, but luckily, he was okay. His corkscrew roundhouse kick on Mark Andrews looked like it knocked off Mark Andrews a bit. Mark Andrews did great in this match too as he wants to represent the UK to win the WWE Cruiserweight Championship at Wrestlemania 34. His springboard crossbody, his standing corkscrew moonsault, and his counter to Akira Tozawa’s vertical suplex into a stunner on Akira Tozawa were all executed perfectly. Great work by both men here.

The ending of the match came when Akira Tozawa tried to pin Mark Andrews with an Oklahoma roll, but Mark Andrews countered it into his own pin for the pin and win. Wow, I didn’t expect Mark Andrews to get the victory here, but he got it and it seems like he may be a part of the cruiserweight division going forward, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Great match and Mark Andrews moves on to the quarter-finals of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.

The backstage segment between Gentleman Jack Gallagher and Drake Maverick by Dasha Fuentes was good. Dasha Fuentes was interviewing Gentleman Jack Gallagher about his match against Mustafa Ali next week in the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament. Gentleman Jack Gallagher said that he’s aware of that and he’s looking to beat him in the first-round.

As Gentleman Jack Gallagher was about to continue, Drake Maverick came in and told Gentleman Jack Gallagher that he has good looking suits, but he shouldn’t be wearing one in a wrestling ring because he wants to see everyone step up their game as he wants to see Gentleman Jack Gallagher in proper wrestling attire because he knows how good he is inside the ring. Drake Maverick then told Gentleman Jack Gallagher to sort himself out as he left.

Man, Drake Maverick is very serious here with Gentleman Jack Gallagher as he wants him to step up on his game. We’ll see if Gentleman Jack Gallagher will listen to Drake Maverick or not next week. Good backstage segment here.

We then get a vignette of Buddy Murphy and it was good. Buddy Murphy talked about his career in NXT as he was a former NXT Tag Team Champion and once he lost that belt, everything went down for him. He then decided to put himself back up and trained in order to be a part of the cruiserweight division and once he did the weigh-in for Drake Maverick, he became a part of the cruiserweight division and he’s looking to make a name for himself and wants to be a part of Wrestlemania 34.

Oh my god, Buddy Murphy is going to be a part of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament next week! Mark out moment! Man, haven’t seen Buddy Murphy for about two years now so it’s great to see him back and he looks to be in great shape. Looking forward to the return of Buddy Murphy next week as he takes on Ariya Daivari in the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.

We then see Drew Gulak and Tony Nese warming up backstage as their match against each other in the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament will happen next. Both men looked focused here so let’s see who’s moving on.

Drew Gulak Vs. Tony Nese in a first-round match of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament was excellent. Mark out moment! These two men went out there and delivered an excellent match where they changed their attitudes inside the ring in order to become WWE Cruiserweight Champion.

Tony Nese did excellent in this match as he wants to become WWE Cruiserweight Champion. His reverse somersault dive on Drew Gulak to the outside was beautifully executed. The 450 splash from Tony Nese was well done, but he missed as Drew Gulak went out of the way. His pumphandle lift into a Michinoku Driver II and his one-armed powerbomb to the corner on Drew Gulak were impressive to watch. Excellent work by Tony Nese here.

Drew Gulak did excellent in this match as well as he wants another shot at the WWE Cruiserweight Championship and become WWE Cruiserweight Champion. The way Drew Gulak was more aggressive in this match more than usual was great to see as he’s showing his work from the independent circuit as I enjoyed it. His lariat on Tony Nese looked it knocked his head off. His lifting powerbomb on Tony Nese looked devastating. Excellent work by Drew Gulak here.

The ending of the match came when Drew Gulak locked in the dragon sleeper with body scissors on Tony Nese as Tony Nese passed out as Drew Gulak won the match. A great win for Drew Gulak as he’s one step closer of becoming the next WWE Cruiserweight Champion.

After the match, Drew Gulak grabbed the WWE Cruiserweight Championship that was on a stool at ringside and held it up before putting down the championship and the referee taking it away.

Drew Gulak is showing his attitude from his independent circuit work as he looked focused and he looks like he’s ready to win the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament. We’ll see if he can do it.

Excellent match and Drew Gulak moves on to the quarter-finals of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.

Overall, a great show for the sixty-fourth episode of 205 Live. It’s great to see the cruiserweights with more focus and attention here and it’s only going to get better from here. Looking forward to it.
