205 Live on February 27, 2018, was a great show. 205 Live is a show where the cruiserweights take center stage as they will risk their bodies to entertain us wrestling fans. Let’s break it down:

We start off the show with a video package highlighting the first-round matches of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament including Buddy Murphy Vs. Ariya Daivari and Mustafa Ali Vs. Gentleman Jack Gallagher as well as hyping up the quarter-final matches of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament including Cedric Alexander Vs. TJP and Roderick Strong Vs. Kalisto. Looking forward to seeing how the quarter-final matches for this tournament will go. Well produced video package here.

Cedric Alexander Vs. TJP in a quarter-final match of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament was great. As Cedric Alexander was making his entrance to the ring, we see a video promo from him saying that TJP has been trying to play mind games with him for the past week, but it’s not going to work against him because he plans to become WWE Cruiserweight Champion at Wrestlemania 34. Cedric Alexander looking confident heading into his match against TJP.

We then see a backstage interview with TJP by Dasha Fuentes as Dasha Fuentes asked TJP about his match against Cedric Alexander where TJP respond by saying that he doesn’t deserve to go through this tournament to become WWE Cruiserweight Champion again, but since he has to, he’s going to win as he plans to become WWE Cruiserweight Champion again at Wrestlemania 34 as he heads to the ring. TJP wants his WWE Cruiserweight Championship and wants it bad. Let’s see if he can take out Cedric Alexander. Let’s talk about the match itself.

TJP did great in this match as he tried to become WWE Cruiserweight Champion once again. The way he was working on Cedric Alexander’s leg throughout the whole match was great in-ring psychology. Cedric Alexander did great in this match as well as he wants to get one step closer to becoming WWE Cruiserweight Champion. His somersault dive on TJP to the outside was beautifully executed and the way Cedric Alexander sold his knee throughout the match was great selling. Great work by both men here.

The ending of the match came when Cedric Alexander hit TJP with the Lumbar Check (Belly-to-back suplex into a double knee backbreaker) for the pin and win. A great win for Cedric Alexander as he moves on to the semi-finals of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.

Great match and Cedric Alexander moves on to the semi-finals of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.

The promo from Drake Maverick in a WWE.com exclusive was good. Drake Maverick talked about how he created this WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament to show people that the best cruiserweights in the world are in this tournament and his vision for the cruiserweight division is already happening.

I have to say that Drake Maverick is doing a great job as a general manager as he’s been giving us some great to excellent matches in this tournament as of late. I can’t wait to see the rest of the matches in this tournament.

The backstage promo from Mustafa Ali was good. Mustafa Ali talked about how he had the fight of his life last week when he faced Gentleman Jack Gallagher. Despite suffering a lot of pain in that match, he still came out on top. He then said that Buddy Murphy is talented and a bad man, but is not enough to take him down.

Mustafa Ali is looking to become the next WWE Cruiserweight Champion, but Buddy Murphy stands in his way of reaching that goal. That match next week should be interesting. Good backstage promo here.

The interview with Buddy Murphy outside was good. Buddy Murphy was exiting the arena until an interviewer interviewed him about his match against Mustafa Ali next week as he said that Mustafa Ali is a talented guy and even though he suffered a lot last week, it’s going to be worse when he faces him because he’s looking to become WWE Cruiserweight Champion at Wrestlemania 34.

Buddy Murphy is looking ready for next week against Mustafa Ali. Let’s see if he can take him down. Good interview here.

We then see Lucha House Party and Roderick Strong backstage as they’re getting ready for their match coming up next. Kalisto and Roderick Strong are looking ready and this match should be fun to watch.

Roderick Strong Vs. Kalisto in the quarter-finals of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament was excellent. Mark out moment! As Kalisto was making his entrance to the ring, we see a tweet from him saying that he has competed in Wrestlemania before and wants to do it again.

We then see a tweet from Roderick Strong as he makes his entrance to the ring as he said that his dream is to compete at Wrestlemania and will do whatever it takes to compete on that show. Nice to see some thoughts on both men heading into their match against each other. Let’s talk about the match!

Kalisto did excellent in this match as he wants to compete at Wrestlemania and become WWE Cruiserweight Champion once again. His hurricanrana on Roderick Strong to the barricade looked painful as heck. His counter to Roderick Strong’s double underhook powerbomb into a sunset-flip powerbomb pin was cool to see. The way he reversed Roderick Strong’s Michinoku Driver II into a powerslam from the top rope was impressive. Excellent work by Kalisto here.

Roderick Strong did excellent in this match as well as he wants to compete at Wrestlemania. His rolling vertical suplex on Kalisto on the announce table looked like it broke Kalisto’s back. His dropkick on Kalisto looked like it knocked Kalisto’s head off. His jumping knee followed by a side slam backbreaker on Kalisto was a cool combination. Excellent work by Roderick Strong here.

The ending of the match came when Roderick Strong hit End of Heartache (Vertical suplex into a double knee backbreaker) on Kalisto for the pin and win. A great win for Roderick Strong as he’s looking to face Cedric Alexander in the semi-finals which should be an excellent match. Roddy Vs. The World!

Excellent match and Roderick Strong moves on to the semi-finals of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.

Overall, a great show for the sixty-sixth episode of 205 Live. It’s great to see the cruiserweights with more focus and attention here and it’s only going to get better from here. Looking forward to it.
