205 Live on March 13, 2018, was a great show. 205 Live is a show where the cruiserweights take center stage as they will risk their bodies to entertain us wrestling fans. Let’s break it down:

We start off the show with a video package highlighting the quarter-final matches of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament including Mark Andrews Vs. Drew Gulak and Mustafa Ali Vs. Buddy Murphy as well as hyping up the semi-final match of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament which includes Cedric Alexander Vs. Roderick Strong. Looking forward to seeing how the semi-final matches for this tournament will go. Well produced video package here.

Lucha House Party Vs. Akira Tozawa & Hideo Itami was a great tag team match. These two teams went out there and delivered a great tag team match as both teams are looking to make for themselves in the cruiserweight division.

The teamwork from Lucha House Party was well shown as Lince Dorado jumped on Gran Metalik‘s back into a dive on Akira Tozawa to the outside which was cool to see. The teamwork that Akira Tozawa and Hideo Itami were well shown too as they show their vicious strikes in the ring. Great work by both teams here.

The ending of the match came when Hideo Itami hit Gran Metalik with the inverted facelock spun into a three-quarter facelock single knee facebreaker for the pin and win for his team. A good win for Akira Tozawa and Hideo Itami as they gain another victory as a tag team.

After the match, Hideo Itami stood tall over Gran Metalik as Lince Dorado pushed Hideo Itami out of the way to check on Gran Metalik. Hideo Itami then confronted Lince Dorado as Kalisto and Akira Tozawa tried to calm them down as tension start to build between the two teams.

Hideo Itami was showing some of his heel character from NXT a bit at the end so that was interesting. I wonder if the team of Akira Tozawa and Hideo Itami will turn heel down the line. I guess we’ll wait and see.

Great tag team match and I’m interested to see if we will see Lucha House Party, Akira Tozawa, and Hideo Itami feud with each other.

We then see a video package of Roderick Strong and it was good. Roderick Strong introduced himself as he talked about how he had a tough time growing up, but that drived him to become who he is today. He then said that he worked so hard to get here and he knows that there is a lot of competition in the cruiserweight division, but he’s going to beat them all as he plans to become WWE Cruiserweight Champion at Wrestlemania 34.

Really like that they’re building up Roderick Strong quite well here for those have never seen Roderick Strong before so that’s great. We’ll see if he can beat Cedric Alexander later on the show.

Murphy Myers Vs. Gentleman Jack Gallagher was a good squash match. Drake Maverick was on commentary for this match.

Murphy Myers did get little offense in, but Gentleman Jack Gallagher was too much for him as he finished Murphy Myers off with a headbutt for the pin and win. Loving this new side of Gentleman Jack Gallagher and can’t wait to see more of it.

Good squash match and I can’t wait to see more of this Gentleman Jack Gallagher.

We then see a video package of Cedric Alexander and it was good. Cedric Alexander introduced himself as he talked about how people said that he can’t win the big one as he always fell short, but told people that he can win the big one. He then talked about his style in the ring as he’s a hybrid wrestler as he plans to become WWE Cruiserweight Champion at Wrestlemania 34.

They’re making Cedric Alexander a huge deal in the cruiserweight division and I could possibly see him win this tournament, but he has a tough task as he goes up against Roderick Strong. We’ll see if he can beat Roderick Strong.

We then see Cedric Alexander and Roderick Strong backstage as they’re warming up as they face each other in the semi-finals of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament next. I have a feeling this match is going to be awesome. Let’s do this!

The video promo that Mustafa Ali cut on Twitter was great. Mustafa Ali was seen outside in a train station in the dark as he talked about how he and a friend have been bullied for their entire life, but they stood up and fight for themselves. He then said what Drew Gulak did to Mark Andrews was an example of that and he looks to beat Drew Gulak next week in the semi-finals of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament. Before he continued, a dark figure came in and tried to ambush Mustafa Ali as the video ended.

Man, these video promos that Mustafa Ali is doing on Twitter has been cool so far. It’s very different from what we normally see as well so I like it. I wonder who was the dark figure that tried to attack Mustafa Ali. I guess we’ll find out soon enough as Mustafa Ali Vs. Drew Gulak next week should be great.

Cedric Alexander Vs. Roderick Strong in a semi-final match of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament was excellent. Mark out moment! Both men went out there and delivered an excellent match where neither man looked weak in the process.

Roderick Strong did excellent in this match as he tried to achieve his dream of competing at Wrestlemania 34. The way he pushed Cedric Alexander off the ropes as Cedric Alexander hit face first on the turnbuckle looked like it killed Cedric Alexander. His counter to Cedric Alexander’s back handspring roundhouse kick into a dropkick was well countered. The way he threw Cedric Alexander on the turnbuckle looked like it broke Cedric Alexander’s back. His superplex on Cedric Alexander looked devastating.

Cedric Alexander did excellent in this match as well as he wants to become WWE Cruiserweight Champion after getting so many opportunities to try to get the championship. His back handspring roundhouse kick on Roderick Strong looked like it took off Roderick Strong’s head off.

There were points in the match where I thought it was over when Cedric Alexander hit the Lumbar Check (Belly-to-back suplex into a double knee backbreaker) on Roderick Strong, but Roderick Strong put his foot on the bottom rope to break the count. Wow, what great awareness from Roderick Strong there. There was another spot where Roderick Strong hit Cedric Alexander with the End of Heartache (Vertical suplex into a double knee backbreaker) on Cedric Alexander, but Cedric Alexander put his foot on the bottom rope to break the count. Wow, just like with Roderick Strong, Cedric Alexander was aware of where he was in the ring. Excellent work by both men here.

The ending of the match came when Roderick Strong tried to hit Cedric Alexander with the End of Heartache, but Cedric Alexander countered it with a small package for the pin and win. Wow, what a great counter from Cedric Alexander as he’s heading to the finals of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament at Wrestlemania 34.

After the match, Dasha Fuentes came in the ring and interviewed Cedric Alexander about his win as Cedric Alexander said that he didn’t deserve this opportunity to go to Wrestlemania 34, but he earned it. He talked about how he has a four-year-old daughter at home telling him that he’s a champion every day and at Wrestlemania 34, he will be WWE Cruiserweight Champion.

What an emotional night for Cedric Alexander as he’s heading to Wrestlemania 34 and great for him. I can see him winning the WWE Cruiserweight Championship at Wrestlemania 34, but let’s see who will face him for that championship whether it be Mustafa Ali or Drew Gulak.

Excellent match and Cedric Alexander moves on to the finals of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.

Overall, a great show for the sixty-eighth episode of 205 Live. It’s great to see the cruiserweights with more focus and attention here and it’s only going to get better from here. Looking forward to it.
