205 Live on March 20, 2018, was a good show. 205 Live is a show where the cruiserweights take center stage as they will risk their bodies to entertain us wrestling fans. Let’s break it down:

We start off the show with a video package highlighting the semi-final match of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament which involves Cedric Alexander Vs. Roderick Strong as well as hyping up the semi-final match of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament which involves Mustafa Ali Vs. Drew Gulak. Looking forward to seeing how the other semi-final match for this tournament will go. Well produced video package here.

Lince Dorado Vs. Hideo Itami was a good match for what it was. After the interaction of what happened between these two last week which was shown in a recap, it led to this match and both men did well for themselves for the time they got.

Lince Dorado was showing his lucha libre style in the ring as his corkscrew plancha on Hideo Itami was well executed. Hideo Itami was showing his Japanese strong style in the ring as his lariat on Lince Dorado looked like it took his head off. Good work by both men here.

The ending of the match came when Hideo Itami pushed Gran Metalik at ringside which led to Gran Metalik pushing Hideo Itami back which led to the disqualification. Gran Metalik just couldn’t keep his temper as Hideo Itami gets the win by disqualification.

After the match, Lince Dorado pushed Hideo Itami in the ring as Kalisto came in to tried to cool both Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik down while Akira Tozawa tried to cool Hideo Itami down.

The tension between both teams are heating up and Hideo Itami continuing to show his heel character from NXT so it’s only a matter of time before Hideo Itami turns heel, but will Akira Tozawa turn heel as well? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Good match for what it was and I’m interested to see what’s next in this feud between Lucha House Party, Hideo Itami, and Akira Tozawa.

We then see a video package of Drew Gulak and it was good. Drew Gulak introduced himself as he talked about how he doesn’t like being called a goof and he’s here to prove that his beliefs of a better 205 Live are right. He then talked his in-ring style as he’s ground-based wrestler and if you’re in the ring with him, you’re going down on the mat and submit as he plans to go on to Wrestlemania 34 and become WWE Cruiserweight Champion.

Love to see that Drew Gulak has combined his Better for a 205 Live gimmick with his wrestling style in the independent circuit into one which is a great combination for him. I’m interested to see if he can beat Mustafa Ali and if he will move on to face Cedric Alexander at Wrestlemania 34.

The backstage promo from Cedric Alexander was good. Cedric Alexander talked about how he was so happy last week that he’s going on to Wrestlemania 34, but his dream is not done yet because he plans on becoming WWE Cruiserweight Champion at Wrestlemania 34.

Cedric Alexander is heading into Wrestlemania 34, but will he become WWE Cruiserweight Champion? I guess we’ll find out at Wrestlemania 34. Good backstage promo here.

Kenneth Johnson Vs. TJP was a good squash match. Kenneth Johnson has made an appearance on 205 Live! Mark out moment! Kenneth Johnson competed in the Cruiserweight Classic where he had an excellent match against Akira Tozawa so cool to see him here and I hope he gets signed in the future as he has potential.

As TJP was making his entrance to the ring, we see a video promo from TJP as he talked about it doesn’t matter who wins the WWE Cruiserweight Championship at Wrestlemania 34 because he wants to be the first person to get a shot at the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. TJP is making a huge statement of wanting a shot at the WWE Cruiserweight Championship, but we’ll see if he can get it. Anyway, back to the match itself.

Kenneth Johnson did get a little bit of offense in this match, but it wasn’t enough to take TJP down as TJP finished Kenneth Johnson off by locking in the kneebar on Kenneth Johnson to make him submit for the win. TJP is making a statement here as he locked in the kneebar for a little while longer after the match was over to prove a point. We’ll see if TJP can get what he wants down the line. *Dabs*

Good squash match and I’m interested to see what’s next for TJP and I would love to see Kenneth Johnson get signed for the WWE Cruiserweight division.

We then see a video package of Mustafa Ali and it was good. Mustafa Ali introduced himself as he talked about how before he came to WWE, he was a police officer for four years as he wanted to do change in the world. He then talked about what separates him from the rest of the cruiserweight division, and that is to have the heart to be the best, and not only does he want to win the WWE Cruiserweight Championship at Wrestlemania 34, but he wants to prove people wrong as plans to do that at Wrestlemania 34.

This video package is really making me care about Mustafa Ali and makes me want to root for him too which is something that video package should do so that’s good. We’ll see if Mustafa Ali can get the win on Drew Gulak.

We then see Mustafa Ali and Drew Gulak warming up backstage as they’re getting ready for their match coming up next. Both men are looking to ready to win, but only one man can move on. Let’s see who it is.

The backstage interview with Drake Maverick by Dasha Fuentes was good. Drake Maverick talked about how he was furious about what happened in the match between Lince Dorado and Hideo Itami, but he was happy that Akira Tozawa and Kalisto tried to cool them down. As a result, he will determine the next #1 Contender for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship after Wrestlemania 34 where it will be Akira Tozawa Vs. Kalisto Vs. TJP Vs. Buddy Murphy.

Wow, we got a #1 Contender’s match next week and it looks to be good. Loving what Drake Maverick is doing in the cruiserweight division so far. Looking forward to that match next week. Good backstage interview here.

Mustafa Ali Vs. Drew Gulak in a semi-final match of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament was excellent. Mark out moment! These two have a history with each other in the past and with bigger stakes here, this was an excellent match where both men looked strong.

Drew Gulak did excellent in this match as he wants to become the next WWE Cruiserweight Champion at Wrestlemania 34. The way he threw up Mustafa Ali in the air and threw him down on the ring looked devastating. His back elbow on Mustafa Ali looked like it broke Mustafa Ali’s jaw. The way he threw Mustafa Ali to the turnbuckle followed by a discus lariat looked like it killed Mustafa Ali. His back body drop on Mustafa Ali from the top of the announce table looked like it broke Mustafa Ali’s back. The way he threw Mustafa Ali to the ring-post looked like it broke Mustafa Ali’s face. Excellent work by Drew Gulak here.

Mustafa Ali did excellent in this match as well as he wants to prove people wrong by becoming the next WWE Cruiserweight Champion. His somersault senton from the top rope to the outside on Drew Gulak was beautifully executed. The way he countered Drew Gulak’s dragon sleeper into a Tornado DDT looked like it knocked out Drew Gulak for a moment there. Excellent work by Mustafa Ali here.

The ending of the match came when Mustafa Ali hit the 054 (Inverted 450 splash) on Drew Gulak for the pin and win. An amazing win for Mustafa Ali as he will face Cedric Alexander in the finals of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament which should be an awesome match.

After the match, Dasha Fuentes came in the ring and interview Mustafa Ali about his win and that he’s going to Wrestlemania 34. Mustafa Ali responded by saying that he’s not going to Wrestlemania 34, but everyone is going to Wrestlemania 34 as it doesn’t matter what your name is, where you’re from, or the color of your skin, what matters is your heart.

Mustafa Ali proved here that he can make a difference and now he’s going to Wrestlemania 34 to challenge Cedric Alexander in the finals of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament. It should be an awesome match and I can’t wait to see it.

Excellent match and Mustafa Ali moves on to the finals of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship Tournament.

Overall, a good show for the sixty-ninth episode of 205 Live. It’s great to see the cruiserweights with more focus and attention here and it’s only going to get better from here. Looking forward to it.
