205 Live on July 10, 2018, was a good show. 205 Live is a show where the cruiserweights take center stage as they will risk their bodies to entertain us wrestling fans. Let’s break it down:

We start off the show with a video package highlighting the feud between Cedric Alexander and Hideo Itami for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. This is good as it’s hyping up the WWE Cruiserweight Championship match later on the show which should be great. Well produced video package here.

Kalisto Vs. Tony Nese was a good match for what it was. Lucha House Party was at ringside for Kalisto and Buddy Murphy was at ringside for Tony Nese in this match.

Tony Nese did well in this match as he showed his hybrid style in the ring. His one arm powerbomb to the corner on Kalisto looked devastating. Kalisto did well in this match too as he showed his lucha libre style in the ring. His somersault seated senton on Tony Nese to the outside was beautifully executed. Good work by both men here.

The ending of the match came when Buddy Murphy attacked Kalisto at ringside which led to a disqualification. A shame the way the match ended as the match was about to pick it up so that was disappointing.

After the match, Lucha House Party brawled with Buddy Murphy with Tony Nese and Kalisto joining in later before Tony Nese pulled back Buddy Murphy to the ramp as both teams stared at each other.

It seems like we’ll be getting a feud between Lucha House Party and Buddy Murphy & Tony Nese which should be interesting to see. We’ll see how that feud will turn out.

Good match and good post-match as I’m intrigued on how the feud between Lucha House Party and Buddy Murphy & Tony Nese will develop.

The backstage segment between Drake Maverick, Noam Dar, and TJP was good. Drake Maverick was telling Noam Dar backstage that he was impressed in his return to the cruiserweight division as Noam Dar responded by saying that he’s honored to be back in the cruiserweight division as it’s been so long since he was here in 205 Live.

Drake Maverick told Noam Dar about the changes in 205 Live until TJP came in and told Drake Maverick that what happened last week was a fluke because if he had more time to prepare, he would have beaten Noam Dar. Noam Dar then told TJP that he beat him in thirty seconds. Drake Maverick then told TJP that if he wants a rematch with Noam Dar, he’ll get it next week as TJP grinned before leaving.

Well, TJP will get another chance at Noam Dar, but we’ll see if he can get the victory on him next week. Good backstage segment here.

We then get a vignette of Hideo Itami and it was good. Hideo Itami talked about how Cedric Alexander made the biggest mistake of his life when he disrespected him. He then said that he will make sure that Cedric Alexander will respect him and he will become the next WWE Cruiserweight Champion.

Hideo Itami sounding confident here as he looks to become the next WWE Cruiserweight Champion. We’ll see if he’s successful. Good vignette here.

We then see Lio Rush walking backstage as he will be in action next. Can’t wait to see Lio Rush in action more in the cruiserweight division so let’s get to it!

Colin Delaney Vs. Lio Rush was a great squash match. Colin Delaney made another appearance on 205 Live! Mark out moment! Nice to see him here again and hopefully, he’ll get another chance in the WWE one day as he improved a lot since then. Akira Tozawa was at ringside watching this match as Lio Rush gave a chair to Akira Tozawa to sit down at the beginning of the match, but Akira Tozawa refused and watched the match standing. Nice to see these two get more development with their feud here. Anyway, back to the match itself.

Colin Delaney did try to get a quick win on Lio Rush by rolling Lio Rush with a schoolboy, but Lio Rush totally dominated Colin Delaney as he finished Colin Delaney off with The Final Hour (Frog splash) for the pin and win. Another win for Lio Rush as he continues to make a splash in the cruiserweight division.

After the match, Akira Tozawa grabbed a mic and stood on the announce table as he talked about how Lio Rush is good, but what he has done lately as he said that Lio Rush has done nothing since coming to the cruiserweight division. He then went into the ring and asked if Lio Rush wants to fight him as he was about to give the mic to Lio Rush, but Akira Tozawa dropped the mic in front of Lio Rush as the two men were about to square off.

Before they could do so, Drake Maverick came out and announced that next week, it will be Akira Tozawa Vs. Lio Rush.

Well, the match is made official for both men next week which should be an interesting contest as I want to see who will come out on top in the end.

Great squash match and good post-match as I’m looking forward to Akira Tozawa Vs. Lio Rush next week.

We then get a recap of what happened last week when Mustafa Ali defeated Buddy Murphy in a No Disqualification match as Mustafa Ali was supporting Cedric Alexander backstage. If you haven’t already, watch the No Disqualification match between Mustafa Ali and Buddy Murphy. You won’t be disappointed.

We then get an announcement that next week, it will be Noam Dar Vs. TJP and Akira Tozawa Vs. Lio Rush. Those should be good matches next week and I’m looking forward to them.

The video promo from Drew Gulak was good. Drew Gulak talked about how he normally do selfies, but due to the younger generation, he’s doing it for them as he’ll be watching the WWE Cruiserweight Championship between Cedric Alexander and Hideo Itami as he looks to become the next WWE Cruiserweight Champion.

Drew Gulak is looking to claim his spot for being the next #1 Contender for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship as he’ll be watching the WWE Cruiserweight Championship match between Cedric Alexander and Hideo Itami. Should be a great match between the two of them. Good video promo here.

Cedric Alexander Vs. Hideo Itami for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship was an excellent match. Mark out moment! Both of these men went out there and delivered an excellent match where neither man looked weak in the process.

Hideo Itami did excellent in this match as he tried to make Cedric Alexander respect him. The way he countered Cedric Alexander’s middle rope slingshot reverse STO into a kick looked devastating. The way he pushed Cedric Alexander from the top rope as he landed face first on the top turnbuckle looked like it killed Cedric Alexander. His running baseball dropkick to Cedric Alexander on the steel steps looked like it made Cedric Alexander out cold. His running knee strike to the back of Cedric Alexander’s head looked devastating. Excellent work by Hideo Itami here.

Cedric Alexander did excellent in this match as well as he tried to show Hideo Itami on why he is the WWE Cruiserweight Champion. His somersault dive on Hideo Itami to the outside was beautifully executed. The way he endured most of Hideo Itami’s strikes in this match showed that he had a lot of heart and guts to remain champion. Excellent work by Cedric Alexander here.

The ending of the match came when Cedric Alexander hit Hideo Itami with a Lumbar Check (Belly-to-back suplex dropped into a double knee backbreaker) for the pin and to retain the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. A great win for Cedric Alexander as he continues to show why he is the WWE Cruiserweight Champion and despite losing, Hideo Itami looked excellent in defeat so he had nothing to be ashamed of.

Excellent match and I will be interested to see where both Cedric Alexander and Hideo Itami will go from here in the cruiserweight division.

Overall, a good show for the eighty-fifth episode of 205 Live. It’s great to see the cruiserweights with more focus and attention here and it’s only going to get better from here. Looking forward to it.
