Lucha Underground on July 11, 2018, was a great show that helps build up storylines and feuds in the future as well as building up new characters. Let’s break it down:

We start off the show with a recap of what happened on Season 3 and 4 of Lucha Underground with Mascarita Sagrada, Rabbit Tribe, Antonio Cueto, Dragon Azteca Jr., King Cuerno, Cage, and Matanza. This is good as it shows what happened in Lucha Underground in case people missed it or forgot about it so that’s good. Well produced video package here.

The promo segment between Cortez Castro and Antonio Cueto was good. Cortez Castro was in the ring being confused until Antonio Cueto showed up and told Cortez Castro that his sources tell him that Cortez Castro is not his real name and that he’s a cop. Antonio Cueto then said that he’s going to a homicide for Cortez Castro, but it’s not really a homicide, but more of a sacrifice as he called out Matanza as the match between Cortez Castro and Matanza began right afterward.

Dang, it seems like Antonio Cueto got the scoops and Cortez Castro got exposed. Now, Cortez Castro has to deal with Matanza. Poor Cortez Castro. Good promo segment here.

Cortez Castro Vs. Matanza was a great squash match. Antonio Cueto made the match the moment he called out Matanza and it didn’t end well for Cortez Castro.

Cortez Castro did get a few shots in with his kendo stick, but in the end, Matanza completely decimated him and finished him off with Wrath of the Gods (Reverse-spin scoop powerslam) on Cortez Castro for the pin and win as Cortez Castro was sacrificed right afterward. Poor Cortez Castro and rest in peace as Matanza continues to be a monster in Lucha Underground.

Great squash match and I feel sorry for whoever is next to be the sacrifice for Matanza.

Ivelisse Vs. Joey Ryan for an Aztec medallion was a good match. These two competitors put on a good match where neither competitor looked weak in the process.

Joey Ryan did well in this match as he tried to win an Aztec medallion. His superkick and spinebuster on Ivelisse looked devastating. Ivelisse did well in this match as she also wanted to win an Aztec medallion. Her German suplex on Joey Ryan was well executed. Good work by both competitors here.

The ending of the match came when Ivelisse hit a sunset flip powerbomb on Joey Ryan for the pin and to win an Aztec medallion. A good win for Ivelisse as she now joins Dragon Azteca Jr. and King Cuerno in the Lucha Underground Gift of the Gods Championship match.

Good match and Ivelisse is now added to the Lucha Underground Gift of the Gods Championship match.

The Mack Vs. Son of Havoc Vs. Killshot for two Aztec medallions was an excellent match. Mark out moment! Before the match happened, Antonio Cueto came out and said that the match between the Lucha Underground Trios Champions should be much greater and it came to him that instead of one Aztec medallion being on the line, it will be two. He then said that the man who will not get the pin or submit will get an Aztec medallion along with the winner while the man that does get the pin or submit will leave with nothing as the match between the three began.

Interesting that Antonio Cueto made a stipulation to that match as if he wants to disband the Lucha Underground Trios Champions or something. Either way, the stakes are higher now for this match so let’s talk about it!

Killshot did excellent in this match as he tried to get an Aztec medallion. His superkick on The Mack looked devastating. His Death Valley Driver on Son of Havoc on top of the apron looked painful as heck. The diving double foot stomp on Son of Havoc looked like it destroyed Son of Havoc’s face. Excellent work by Killshot here.

Son of Havoc also did excellent in this match as he also tried to get an Aztec medallion. His suicide dive to The Mack to the outside was beautifully executed. His tilt-a-whirl DDT on Killshot looked devastating. His rebound cutter on Killshot was perfectly executed. Excellent work by Son of Havoc here.

The Mack did excellent in this match too as he wanted to get an Aztec medallion just like his trio teammates. His somersault dive on Killshot and Son of Havoc to the outside was beautifully executed. His running low-angle shoulder block on Son of Havoc made Son of Havoc flew halfway across the ring. Excellent work by The Mack here.

The ending of the match came when The Mack hit Killshot with a stunner and was thinking about who to pin between Son of Havoc and Killshot, but eventually pin Killshot to win an Aztec medallion. Find it interesting that The Mack chose to pin Killshot instead of Son of Havoc, but as a result, The Mack and Son of Havoc earned Aztec medallions.

After the match, The Mack and Son of Havoc checked on Killshot, but Killshot pushed Son of Havoc away and then pushed down The Mack’s Aztec medallion before leaving.

It seems like tension is growing between The Mack, Son of Havoc, and Killshot here as Killshot seems to be doing his own thing as of now without liking Son of Havoc. It will be interesting to see how they will team up as trios champions once again after this.

Excellent match as The Mack and Son of Havoc are now added to the Lucha Underground Gift of the Gods Championship match.

Cage Vs. Mil Muertes for an Aztec medallion was excellent. Mark out moment! This match was made last week by Antonio Cueto as these two men went out there and tried to kill each other in the ring even though a lot of referees got hurt in the process.

Cage did excellent in this match as he tried to get an Aztec medallion. His deadlift superplex on Mil Muertes was impressive. His discus lariat on Mil Muertes looked lethal. His somersault dive to the outside on Mil Muertes was beautifully executed. Excellent work by Cage here.

Mil Muertes did excellent in this match as well as he also tried to get an Aztec medallion. His reverse STO on Cage looked like it has flattened Cage. Excellent work by Mil Muertes here.

The ending of the match came when Cage was about to hit Mil Muertes with a chair, but then a fan unmasked himself in the crowd and it turned out to be Pentagon Dark as he hit Cage with a chair shot to the head as Mil Muertes finished Cage off in the ring with a spear followed by a reverse STO for the pin and to win an Aztec medallion. With this win, Mil Muertes joins Dragon Azteca Jr., King Cuerno, Ivelisse, The Mack, and Son of Havoc in the Lucha Underground Gift of the Gods Championship match. Despite the victory for Mil Muertes, Catrina didn’t lick or kiss him after the match and left him on his own. Interesting.

After the match, Pentagon Dark told Cage that he shouldn’t be disappointed that he lost his match because next week, it will be Pentagon Dark Vs. Cage for the Lucha Underground Championship. He then told Cage that he will be walking out as Lucha Underground Champion and he will break his arm as he’s Pentagon Dark and he has cero miedo.

Well, the match has been official, it will be Pentagon Dark Vs. Cage for the Lucha Underground Championship next week. That match should be awesome. Looking forward to it. Cero Miedo!

Excellent match and good post-match promo from Pentagon Dark as I’m looking forward to Pentagon Dark Vs. Cage for the Lucha Underground Championship next week.

The video segment between Mascarita Sagrada, Rabbit Tribe, and Killer Kross was great. Rabbit Tribe were in their hideout as Paul London was complaining about their furniture as Saltador said that the furniture is quite comfortable until Mascarita Sagrada came in and told Rabbit Tribe that the white rabbit will now see them as he sent them to the white rabbit.

Mascarita Sagrada and Rabbit Tribe then appeared in a dark lair where they met the white rabbit and it turn out to be Killer Kross! Mark out moment! Man, so Killer Kross is now in Impact Wrestling and Lucha Underground. Nice. Very talented individual. Anyway, back to the subject at hand.

Killer Kross asked Rabbit Tribe on why they’re here as Paul London said that they’re here for his guidance. Killer Kross then asked him for what cost as Paul London said anything. Killer Kross then told Paul London to kill Mascarita Sagrada as a staff appeared on Saltador’s hands as Paul London was hesitant at first before doing it to obey Killer Kross’ demands. Killer Kross then applauded Paul London for his work and then said it’s their time now.

Rest in peace Mascarita Sagrada. You will be missed. Rabbit Tribe seems to be more dangerous now thanks to the assistance of Killer Kross. We’ll see how this storyline goes with Killer Kross and Rabbit Tribe going forward. Great video segment to end the show.

Overall, a great show that helps build up storylines and feuds in the future as well as building up new characters. So many storylines and feuds here and I love it! Next week, we’re going to have Pentagon Dark Vs. Cage for the Lucha Underground Championship which should be great, looking forward to that. If you haven’t already, please check out Lucha Underground. It’s a great alternative to the mainstream wrestling and you won’t be disappointed. Looking forward to next week’s show. Lucha! Lucha! Lucha! Lucha!
