The Cruiserweight Classic on July 27, 2016 was a great show. CWC will showcase 32 cruiserweight wrestlers from around the world compete in a single elimination tournament in order to become the best cruiserweight wrestler in the world. Let’s break it down:

We start off the show with a video package hyping up the matches in the Cruiserweight Classic for the show as we have Zack Sabre Jr. Vs. Tyson Dux, Drew Gulak Vs. Harv Sihra, Anthony Bennett Vs. Tony Nese, and Raul Mendoza Vs. Brian Kendrick. This is good as it shows who will be competing on this show as well as hyping up the matches. Well produced video package here.

Zack Sabre Jr. Vs. Tyson Dux was an excellent match. Mark out moment! Before the match, both Zack Sabre Jr. and Tyson Dux shook hands.

Zack Sabre Jr. is known for his work in PROGRESS, RPW, and EVOLVE as he is considered to be one of the best technical wrestlers in wrestling today. Mark out moment for Zack Sabre Jr. for being in the CWC! I expect him to do great in this tournament and I could possibly see him in the finals as well. Great to see Zack Sabre Jr. in a WWE ring.

Tyson Dux is known for his work in AIW, Smash Wrestling, and WWE from 2004 to 2006, he is a twenty year veteran that wrestled all over Canada and some parts of the US. Mark out moment for Tyson Dux for being in the CWC! It’s great to see Tyson Dux in a WWE ring again.

Like I said earlier, the match was excellent. Both men went out there and they did everything they could to get the victory over each other.

I have watched Zack Sabre Jr. in action before as I saw his work in the UK and the US, and he was impressive in this match as he showed why he is one of the best technical wrestlers in the world today. The way that Zack Sabre Jr. goes for every part of the body for a submission is incredible and transitioning from one submission to another is very impressive as well. Excellent performance by Zack Sabre Jr. here.

I have watched Tyson Dux’s work in Canada and the US, and he was also very impressive in this match as he tried to take down Zack Sabre Jr. in every point in the match. His fisherman buster on Zack Sabre Jr. looked quite devastating. Excellent performance by Tyson Dux here.

Zack Sabre Jr. wins the match as the referee calls the wrestlers in and raises Zack Sabre Jr.’s hand and declares him the winner. After the match, Zack Sabre Jr. and Tyson Dux both shook hands as a sign of respect. Great to see some sportmanship here as it was an excellent match.

Excellent match and with that, Zack Sabre Jr. moves on to the second round of the Cruiserweight Classic.

Drew Gulak Vs. Harv Sihra was a great match. Both Drew Gulak and Harv Sihra shook hands before the match.

Drew Gulak is known for his work in EVOLVE, CZW, and Chikara as he is one of the best grapplers in wrestling today. Mark out moment for Drew Gulak for being in the CWC! For more information on who Drew Gulak is, here’s a video about him.

Harv Sihra is known for his work in ECCW and Ring Ka King as he is one half of the Bollywood Boyz. Mark out moment for Harv Sihra for being in the CWC! Great to see him in the CWC as he worked hard to get to this point.

Like I said earlier, this match was great as they got to showcase their skills in the ring.

I have watched Drew Gulak in action before in EVOLVE, CZW, and Chikara, and he was impressive in this match as he got to show his style of wrestling with the submissions. Love how that Drew Gulak always tried to ground down his opponents to the mat so he can lock in a submission. Great performance by Drew Gulak here.

I have watched Harv Sihra in action before with his work in Ring Ka King and ECCW from time to time, and he was impressive as he got to show charisma as well as his in-ring ability. His springboard crossbody to the outside on Drew Gulak was impressive. Great performance by Harv Sihra here.

Drew Gulak wins this match here as the referee calls the wrestlers in and raises Drew Gulak’s hand and declares him the winner.

Great match and with that, Drew Gulak moves on to the second round of the Cruiserweight Classic as he faces Zack Sabre Jr. which should be an excellent match.

Anthony Bennett Vs. Tony Nese was a good match. Before the match, both Anthony Bennett and Tony Nese shook hands.

A lot is not known about Anthony Bennett, but for information, here’s a video about him.

Tony Nese is known for his work in TNA and EVOLVE currently as he is a premier athlete. Mark out moment for Tony Nese for being in the CWC! It’s great to see Tony Nese in a WWE ring as I think he will do well in the tournament.

Like I said earlier, this match was good as both men got to showcase their skills in the ring.

This is the first time I ever see Anthony Bennett in action and what he displayed here was alright. He did botch some moves here and there as well as one point not selling the powerslam by Tony Nese well. I hope he was okay after that powerslam spot as he didn’t move a lot during that moment. Other than that, he did what he could in this match and I’ll give him credit for it.

I have watched Tony Nese before in action with his work in TNA and EVOLVE currently, and he definitely displayed his skills well here. He got to show his speed, agility, strength, and power in this match as he is “The Premier Athlete” so a nice performance by Tony Nese here.

Tony Nese wins this match here as the referee calls the wrestlers in and raises Tony Nese’s hand and declares him the winner.

Good match and with that, Tony Nese moves on to the second round of the Cruiserweight Classic.

Raul Mendoza Vs. Brian Kendrick was a great match. Before the match, both Raul Mendoza and Brian Kendrick shook hands.

Raul Mendoza is also known as Ronnie Mendoza as he works for DTU in Mexico and he’s one of the rising stars in Mexico currently. For more information on who Raul Mendoza is, here’s a video about him.

Brian Kendrick is known for his work in ROH, TNA, and WWE throughout his entire career as he is a man with a plan. Mark out moment for Brian Kendrick for being in the CWC! It’s great to see him back in a WWE ring and let’s see if he can hang with the young talents in the tournament.

Like I said earlier, this match was great as these two were evenly matches as either man could have gotten the victory over each other.

Despite not knowing a lot about Raul Mendoza, he was very impressive in this match as he got to showcase his in-ring skills. His corner-to-corner front missle dropkick and his suplex into a backbreaker on Brian Kendrick was incredible. Though, him getting busted open from the mouth must have been painful. Luckily, he still worked the match so props for him for continuing. Great performance by Raul Mendoza here.

I have seen work from Brian Kendrick before during his ROH, TNA, and WWE days and despite not being in a WWE ring for about a year, he still has what it takes to win the Cruiserweight Classic with his performance here. The work he played here as a heel was great as the crowd was booing him at certain points of the match which is great. Great performance by Brian Kendrick here.

Brian Kendrick wins this match here as the referee calls the wrestlers in and raises Brian Kendrick’s hand and declared him the winner.

Great match with that, Brian Kendrick moves on to the second round of the Cruiserweight Classic and will face Tony Nese which should be a great match.

Overall, great show for the third show of the Cruiserweight Classic. Next week, we’ll see matches that involves Rich Swann, Jason Lee, Noam Dar, Gurv Sihra, Jack Gallagher, Fabien Aichner, Johnny Gargano, and Tommaso Ciampa which should be great. Looking forward to next week’s show, it should be awesome.
