NXT’s Next Breakout Stars in 2017?: UK

Published

on

Hello everyone, this is Vaude Influence.

It’s about a year since I last did this series, but since the year is almost ending, it’s about time to do this again.

Last year, I did about nine wrestling companies/countries/nations. This year, I will do eleven wrestling companies/countries/nations.

Anyway, enough about that. Let’s get started!

The United Kingdom (UK) has produced some of the best professional wrestlers in the world who are well known with their British technical wrestling style. For the past few years, the British wrestling scene has begun to bloom again with some of the youngest and brightest UK stars that could do well on a national stage.

For the past few years, NXT has picked up some of the best UK talents or talents that have wrestled in the UK scene for years such as Adrian Neville, Finn Balor, Paige, Nikki Storm, Jack Gallagher, Noam Dar, and etc. It’s only a matter of time when WWE is planning to sign more talent from the UK as the British wrestling scene is growing each day.

This list won’t contain wrestlers that competed in NXT or the developmental territory of WWE in the past such as Rampage Brown, Joel Redman, etc. so please keep that in mind.

Here’s the list I have about one year ago for NXT’s Next Breakout Stars in 2016?:

10. Noam Dar

9. Sha Samuels

8. Big Damo

7. Tommy End

6. Nikki Storm

5. The Origin

4. Will Ospreay

3. Kay Lee Ray

2. Jimmy Havoc

1. Marty Scurll

Now, it’s time to see which ten wrestlers from the UK I think NXT will pick up or I want NXT to pick up in 2017.

Honorable Mentions: Mark Haskins, Tyler Bate, Jinny, Zack Gibson, Flash Morgan Webster, Dave Mastiff, Joe Coffey, Iestyn Rees, Pollyanna, Sha Samuels, Carmel Jacob, Stevie Boy

10. Trent Seven

From Wolverhampton, England, Trent Seven has been on the rise of the UK wrestling scene as of late as he competed in wrestling companies such as ICW, PROGRESS, and RPW.

With seven years of wrestling experience, this man is a force to be reckoned with and deserved to be known from more people around the globe. With his unique look, his good character, his good charisma, and his great in-ring ability, he could be a star in NXT in either tag team competition or singles competition.

Even though he’s probably too old to be in NXT now as he’s in his mid-thirties, guys like Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Bobby Roode are around that age and even older than that, but yet they’re still signed to NXT. It’s only a matter of interest of whether or not NXT is interested in signing Trent Seven. Whether he gets signed by NXT or not, he’s going to make a name for himself in the British wrestling scene for years to come. Plus, he has a nice moustache and beard.

9. Pete Dunne

From Birmingham, England, Pete Dunne has been on the rise of the UK wrestling scence as of late just like Trent Seven as he competed in wrestling companies such as PCW, PROGRESS, and RPW.

With eleven years of wrestling experience, this man is a bruiserweight that moves like a cruiserweight, but hits like a bruiser. With his unique look, his good character, good charisma, and his great in-ring ability, he could be great in NXT in either division whether it’s singles wrestling or tag team wrestling.

He competed in a qualifying match in PROGRESS for a chance to be in the Cruiserweight Classic this year, but ended up short as he lost to Jack Gallagher in a very impressive match. Even though Pete Dunne lost his chance to compete in the Cruiserweight Classic, he may get another shot since there must be a reason why he was chosen to be in a qualifying match for the Cruiserweight Classic this year. Whether he gets another chance or not, this man is on a rise and he’s only going to get better from here. Moves like a cruiserweight, but hits like a bruiser.

8. Toni Storm

From Auckland, New Zealand, Toni Storm has been on the rise of the UK women’s wrestling scene as of late as she competed in wrestling companies such as PCW and PROGRESS.

With six years of wrestling experience, this woman is going to be a force to be reckoned with and deserved to be known from more people around the globe. With her great look, good character, good charisma, and good in-ring ability, she could be great in the women’s division of NXT.

Now, I don’t think NXT will sign her yet as she has a lot to prove still, but the woman is only twenty years old so she has a bright future ahead of her. Even though I don’t think NXT will sign her in 2017, she’s going to be signed eventually and it’s only a matter of time as a storm is coming.

7. Josh Bodom

From Bournemouth, England, Josh Bodom man has been on the rise of the UK wrestling scene as of late as he is well known for his work in RPW.

With five years of wrestling experience, this man is going to be a star on the horizon in the years to come. With his good look, good character, good charisma, and great in-ring ability, he could be great in NXT in singles competition.

Just like with Pete Dunne, he competed in a qualifying match in RPW for a chance to be in the Cruiserweight Classic this year, but ended up short as he lost to Noam Dar in a very impressive match. Despite losing his chance to compete in the Cruiserweight Classic, just like Pete Dunne, he may get another shot since there must be a reason why he was chosen to be in a qualifying match for the Cruiserweight Classic this year. Whether he gets another chance or not, this man is a name to be reckoned with in the future and it’s all for the bodom.

6. The Origin

Nathan Cruz and El Ligero of The Origin are probably one of the best tag teams in the UK wrestling scene today as they’re well known for their work in PROGRESS.

With only a year of experience as a tag team, these two are 2x PROGRESS Tag Team Champions and they’re looking to take the UK tag team scene by storm with their great chemistry, great characters, good charisma, and great in-ring abilities.

Now, I don’t know if NXT are interested in The Origin or not, but the team of Nathan Cruz and El Ligero have proven themselves for the past year and it’s only a matter of time when they’ll be known to the world.

5. Joe Hendry

From Edinburgh, Scotland, Joe Hendry is probably one of the most entertaining wrestlers in the Uk wrestling scene today who is very known for his work in ICW.

With three years of wrestling experience, this man is going to entertain everyone around the globe sooner or later. With his great look, excellent character, excellent charisma, and solid in-ring ability, he would be a great character in NXT for fans to be entertained by.

I don’t know if NXT is interested in signing Joe Hendry or not, but either way, he’s going to be a star one day and it’s only a matter of time before the whole world see it.

4. Jimmy Havoc

From Kent, England, Jimmy Havoc is one of the most interesting characters in the UK and possibly the world today who is very known for his work in ICW, PROGRESS, and RPW.

With twelve years of wrestling experience, this suicidal man will do everything it takes to get to the top. With his unique look, excellent character, excellent charisma, and good in-ring ability, he would be a great and interesting character for NXT.

Now, I don’t know if NXT has interest in him or not, but either way, whether he gets signed or not, this suicidal man will do whatever it takes to get noticed as you watch him burn.

3. Kay Lee Ray

From Glasgow, Scotland, Kay Lee Ray is one of the greatest women’s wrestlers in the UK and possibly the world today who is very known for her work in ICW.

With seven years of wrestling experience, this woman is going to be known around the world for the years to come. With her great look, improved character, improved charisma, and excellent in-ring ability, she would be perfect for the NXT Women’s division.

Last year, she made an appearance for NXT in a match against Nia Jax. So NXT does have some interest in Kay Lee Ray and it’s only going to be a matter of time when this red-haired woman will be on the national stage.

2. Will Ospreay

From Essex, England, Will Ospreay is becoming one of the best high flyers in the UK and possibly the world today who is very known for his work in PROGRESS and RPW.

With four years of wrestling experience, this man is an aerial assassin that can hang with the best high flyers in wrestling today. With his good look and excellent high flying ability, he will be great for the singles ranks in NXT.

With NXT planning to sign top talents around the world, Will Ospreay will be very high on that list because he is a star on the rise. Even though he may lacked character and charisma, him going to NXT can help him a lot as he can work on those areas in the Performance Center to improve his craft. It’s only a matter of time when the aerial assassin gets on the national stage.

1. Marty Scurll

From Cambridgeshire, England, Marty Scurll is probably one of the best wrestlers in the UK and possibly the world today who is very known for his work in ICW, PROGRESS, and RPW.

With eleven years of wrestling experience, this man is a villain that is going to sneak his way to the top as he’s one of the best wrestlers that the UK has to offer. With his great look, excellent character, excellent charisma, and excellent in-ring ability, he would be perfect for NXT in the NXT Championship picture.

Just like with Will Ospreay, Marty Scurll should be very high on NXT’s list of who should be signed to NXT in the future. It’s only matter of time when we down to the villain. Long live “The Villain”.

That is my top ten wrestlers from the UK who I think/want to be in NXT in 2017. Which wrestlers from the UK would you like to see in NXT in 2017? Let me know in the comment section below.
