FCW Sunshine: Briley Pierce (Hot Young Briley)

Topic/Subject: Today, I will be showing a match that involves a hot young man.

Wrestler: “Hot Young” Briley Pierce (Hot Young Briley).

Background Information: Briley Pierce is from Cleveland, Ohio. He is trained by Rip Rogers and Danny Davis.

He won the promotion’s first ever Breakout competition and received a one-year paid scholarship with Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW). In 2010, he made his professional debut for OVW under his real name.

Throughout his OVW career, he became a 2x OVW Southern Tag Team Champion. He competed with OVW until he signed a contract with WWE.

He signed a developmental contract with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and was assigned to its developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW).

He made his debut on June 26, 2011, as Briley Pierce, facing Big E Langston in a losing effort.

On October 30, 2011, on an episode of FCW Television, he was defeated by Brad Maddox after being pinned with the Oklahoma roll.

Throughout his FCW career, he became a Florida Tag Team Champion.

Before WWE NXT merged with FCW as NXT Wrestling. He debuted on NXT on June 20, 2012, on an episode of WWE NXT taped at Full Sail University as an interviewer using the Briley Pierce name.

He made his in-ring debut on May 8, 2013, on an episode of NXT against Sakamoto, but both men were attacked by Conor O’Brian. This led to both men challenging O’Brian to a handicap match during the next episode, which O’Brian won.

On May 17, 2013, he was released from his WWE contract. His last match was a battle royal on May 29, 2013, on an episode of NXT (which was taped before his release) to determine the #1 contender for the NXT Championship where he and Sakamoto were the first men eliminated from the match by Mason Ryan.

He had his first match after his WWE release on May 25, 2013, at Florida Underground Wrestling (FUW) Throwdown 3, defeating Jesse Neal.

On June 30, 2013, he made his debut for Absolute Intense Wrestling (AIW) using the Briley Pierce name in a six man tag team match where he teamed up with The Submission Squad (Evan Gelisitico & Gary Jay) to take on The Old School Express (Jock Samson & Marion Fontaine) and Tracy Smothers.

On July 17, 2016, he made his debut for Millennium Pro Wrestling (MPW) in a six tag team match where he teamed up with Austin Draven and J Bronson to take on Damien Sandow, Johnny Mundo, and Seth Skyfire.

On August 26, 2016, he made his return to MPW using the ring name Hot Young Briley in a match against Austin Judas.

Here’s a match between him and Austin Judas in MPW on August 26, 2016.

Here’s a 2 Out of 3 Falls match between him and Austin Judas in MPW on September 16, 2016.

He still competes in the independent circuit to this day.

He has an older brother named Nick, who is a professional wrestler that works for the WWE under the ring name Dolph Ziggler. He is the author of “I Can Make-Out With Any Girl Here”.

My Thoughts: Briley Pierce is a very interesting individual. He has a good look, he has a presence about him in and outside of the ring, he has a solid character, solid charisma, and he’s a solid wrestler in the ring. Hot Young!

Video: This video contains a match between Briley Pierce and Brad Maddox on October 30, 2011.

My Thoughts: This was a good match that showcased the character of Briley Pierce who was feuding with Brad Maddox during this time.

Briley Pierce did well in this match as he showcased his skills in the ring. I like how he tried to take down Brad Maddox in an amateur wrestling fashion which was cool to see.

He ended up losing the match as Brad Maddox rolled him up which made Briley Pierce begged Brad Maddox to have one more match as Brad Maddox was about to leave the ring. Brad Maddox accepted the match and another match began between Brad Maddox and Briley Pierce.

Briley Pierce ended up losing the second match as he went down by a kick to the gut by Brad Maddox. Even though Briley Pierce lost twice to Brad Maddox, I give him effort for being a fighting man, but at the same time, he should know what Brad Maddox is capable of so he was kind of being stupid at the same time. However, he did show great heart here so I’ll give him that. Not only that, this match led to an unlikely tag team between Brad Maddox and Briley Pierce which was one of my favorite tag teams in FCW, but that’s another story for another day.

Good match as it was a good showcase of Briley Pierce’s character and heart.

It’s a shame that WWE didn’t use him well as I thought he had a lot of potential. Even though his brother Dolph Ziggler is a better wrestler than him, I always find him more charismatic than his brother, but that’s just me. With more time in development, he could have been a star for WWE.

As for Ryan Nemeth, I think he’s a butthole, but as Briley Pierce, I think he could have been something special. Luckily, he’s doing fine in the independent circuit so it’s all good for him. Hot Young!

After watching the video, give me your thoughts on the video or the wrestler himself. Thank you.
