NXT 11/9/16 Review: Serious Business, YeaOh!

NXT on November 9, 2016 was a good show that is building up NXT Toronto next week. Let’s break it down:

We start off the show with the announcement that Shinsuke Nakamura and Samoa Joe will have a contract signing later on the show and Charly Caruso went over the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic as the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic went on the road once again on tour just like they did last year. I’m excited for the contract signing between Shinsuke Nakamura and Samoa Joe later on the show, should be great to see. I said this last week, but I’ll say it again. It’s cool to see that the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic is back on the road again as they did this last year with the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. I like how this year’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic matches on the road showed the whole match instead of highlights so that’s a plus. Hope they do it again next year. Nice way to start off the show to keep people updated as well as showing what’s going to happen later on the show.

#DIY Vs. Authors of Pain in the semi-finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic was a great tag team match. This was Authors of Pain’s best match in NXT by far and they proved why they are the most dominant tag team in NXT at the moment. This match was taken place in Los Angeles and the crowd was great there so hands off to them.

#DIY were great in this match as they continued to show the great chemistry they have as a tag team. Tommaso Ciampa was very impressive in this match as he managed to hit a German suplex on Rezar which was very impressive.

Authors of Pain were great in this match too as they showed they are the most dominant tag team in NXT at the moment. The moment where Authors of Pain threw Johnny Gargano to Tommaso Ciampa as Tommas Ciampa was about to go for the suicide dive was awesome. Also, Rezar was very impressive in this match as he did a fallaway slam on Johnny Gargano and a Samoan Drop onto Tommaso Ciampa at the same time when he had them. Great performances by both teams here.

The ending of the match came when #DIY hit the superkick/running knee strike to the back of the head combination on Akam, but Paul Ellering was distracting the referee so #DIY couldn’t get the win. The Revival then showed up under the ring and took out Johnny Gargano as Scott Dawson hit a DDT onto Johnny Gargano on the outside. This led to Authors of Pain hitting the Last Chapter (Russian legsweep/clothesline combination) on Tommaso Ciampa for the pin and win. With this win, Authors of Pain moves on to the finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

After this match, it seems like the feud between #DIY and The Revival is far from over and I’m expecting that they will have a match against each other at NXT Toronto for the NXT Tag Team Championships, but we’ll see. Either way, if they do, it should be an excellent tag team match and I’ll be looking forward to it. Do it Yourself!

Great tag team match and I can’t wait to see what’s next for #DIY and The Revival as well as which team will face Authors of Pain in the finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

We then get the same vignette of “The Return” and it will happen next week. Well, at least we don’t have to wait for long as it will happen next week, but who is returning next week? I guess we’ll find out next week. Should be interesting to see.

Just a reminder that Come Back for More by Turnstile is a theme for NXT Toronto and it’s a good song. NXT Toronto is next week and I can’t wait to see it. Should be a great show.

The promo that Tye Dillinger cut earlier in the show was good. Tye Dillinger talked about how Bobby Roode gave him his word to be tag team partners and he has broken it. Tye Dillinger then said that he built a career of making lies and at NXT Toronto, he will beat up Bobby Roode all over Toronto.

Tye Dillinger is looking very serious for his match against Bobby Roode at NXT Toronto and he should be because he’s going against “The Glorious” Bobby Roode. Should be a great match between the two at NXT Toronto. Looking forward to it. Good promo by Tye Dillinger here.

TM-61 Vs. SAnitY in the the semi-finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic was a good tag team match. This match was also taped in Los Angeles. NXT, please tape more shows outside of Full Sail! That would be awesome if you do, thank you.

I like how before the match began, SAnitY began to attack TM-61 immediately once they did their pose in the ring in order to get the advantage in the match. Simple booking like this can really make a big difference on who’s the faces and heels as well as developing characters in feuds, etc. so I like that booking a lot. Whoever booked that spot, great job.

SAnitY did well in this match as they showed their tag team chemistry in the ring. The spinebuster/European Uppercut combination that SAnitY use on Shane Thorne was very impressive and unique. Also, Alexander Wolfe‘s moment when he went insane for a while was incredible. That was awesome. TM-61 did well in this match too as they continued to show why they are the mighty that don’t kneel. Good performances by both teams here.

The ending of the match came when Nick Miller rolled up Alexander Wolfe into a jackknife pin for the pin and win. With this win, TM-61 moves on to the finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic against Authors of Pain at NXT Toronto which should be an interesting match to see.

Good tag team match and I’m looking forward to TM-61 Vs. Authors of Pain in the finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic at NXT Toronto.

We then get an announcement from William Regal in his office saying that after what happened earlier in the show with The Revival and #DIY, it will be The Revival Vs. #DIY for the NXT Tag Team Championships at NXT Toronto in a 2 Out of 3 Falls match.

Oh my god, we’re going to get a 2 Out of 3 Falls match between The Revival and #DIY for the NXT Tag Team Championships at NXT Toronto! Mark out moment! The 2 Out of 3 Falls matches in NXT history have been good to excellent throughout the years so having another one is going to be great. I expect this one to be excellent as their match at NXT Brooklyn II was excellent so I can’t wait for this match. Looking forward to it.

NXT is coming to New York City and Boston on November 16 and November 17 where you get to see Shinsuke Nakamura and #DIY Vs. Samoa Joe & The Revival live so get your tickets before it’s too late!

Just a reminder that Hated by Beartooth is a theme for NXT Toronto and it’s a good song. NXT Toronto is next week and I can’t wait to see it. Should be a great show.

The promo that Bobby Roode cut earlier in the show was great. Bobby Roode talked about how it wasn’t his fault that he and Tye Dillinger lost in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, but it was Tye Dillinger’s fault as he embarrassed the name of Dusty Rhodes and he’s not “The Perfect Ten” as he will prove it in NXT Toronto. Bobby Roode then said that Tye Dillinger is failure and he will make NXT Toronto glorious.

Bobby Roode is once again blaming Tye Dillinger for everything and not himself because he’s only cares about himself because he is glorious! Looking forward to Tye Dillinger Vs. Bobby Roode at NXT Toronto which should be a great match. Great promo from Bobby Roode here.

Ember Moon Vs. Rachael Evers was a good women’s match. Oh my god, Rachael Evers made another appearance on NXT! Mark out moment! For those of you who don’t know, she’s known as Rachael Ellering who is the daughter of Paul Ellering and has competed in NXT numerous times now so it’s great to see her in NXT again. Hope she signed as she has a lot of potential.

Rachael Evers did well in this match as she got to showcase her skills in the ring as well as developing a character as well. She got some good heel heat in this match as she played around with Ember Moon a little bit so good effort from Rachael Evers here. Ember Moon did well in this match too as she continued to show that she’s a rising star in the NXT women’s division. Good performances by both women here.

The ending of the match came when Ember Moon hit the diving corkscrew stunner on Rachael Evers for the pin and win. Still love that finisher from Ember Moon, it’s amazing. I have a feeling that she’ll be the next contender for the NXT Women’s Championship and when she does, she’ll make the women’s division in NXT burn.

Good women’s match and I’m interested to see what’s next for Ember Moon in NXT. Also, NXT, please sign Rachael Evers!

It was announced that next week, it will be Cedric Alexander Vs. Andrade “Cien” Almas. Disappointed that this match won’t happen at NXT Toronto, but it should be a great match next week and I’m looking forward to it.

The contract signing between Shinsuke Nakamura and Samoa Joe was great. William Regal is in the ring with security as he called out both Shinsuke Nakamura and Samoa Joe for the contract signing. Shinsuke Nakamura made his way to the ring with a serious look on his face which I don’t blame him after what Samoa Joe did to him for the past few months. Samoa Joe was about to head to the ring, but ended up leaving and coming back with a table of his own with a chair as he sits from the ramp.

Samoa Joe then said from the ramp that he doesn’t want to get into the ring because he knows that he can take Shinsuke Nakamura out if he’s in the ring with him. He then said that he will embarrass Shinsuke Nakamura and that he’s going to injure him at NXT Toronto.

Samoa Joe then asked William Regal to bring him the contract as William Regal didn’t want to do it, but Samoa Joe demanded him to come down and bring him the contract. William Regal then slowly came down to the ramp as Samoa Joe was making fun of him. William Regal then gave Samoa Joe the contract as he signed it and stared at Shinsuke Nakamura from the ramp.

William Regal then headed back to the ring looking pissed as he handed the contract to Shinsuke Nakamura. Shinsuke Nakamura was about to leave the ring until security came in and blocked him. He then took out the security one by one and then he powerbombed a security guard through a table. He then signed the contract and stared at Samoa Joe from the ring as he held his NXT Championship up in the air.

Really loving how this feud between Shinsuke Nakamura and Samoa Joe is getting really serious that these two want to tear each other apart. I can’t wait for their match at NXT Toronto. It’s going to be brutal and it’s going to be violent. Looking forward to it. YeaOh!

Great contract signing and I’m looking forward to Shinsuke Nakamura Vs. Samoa Joe for the NXT Championship at NXT Toronto.

Overall, good show that is building up NXT Toronto next week. Next week, we’re going to see Cedric Alexander Vs. Andrade “Cien” Almas which should be interesting to see. Looking forward to it. NXT! NXT! NXT!
