205 Live on January 31, 2017 was a good show. 205 Live is a show where the cruiserweights take center stage as they will risk their bodies to entertain us wrestling fans. Let’s break it down:

We start off the show with a video package showcasing highlights of the feud between Rich Swann and Neville where Neville defeated Rich Swann at WWE Royal Rumble to become the new WWE Cruiserweight Champion. This is good as it lets people know on what happened between the feud with Rich Swann and Neville in case people missed it or forgot about it. Well produced video package here.

We then get an announcement from Mauro Ranallo, Corey Graves, and Austin Aries that Rich Swann will be unable to compete in the tag team match later on the show. Instead, it will now be Jack Gallagher & Cedric Alexander Vs. Neville & Noam Dar later on the show. Poor Rich Swann, hope he gets better soon, but until then, Jack Gallagher is going to be in the main event on this show so that is fine by me.

Lince Dorado Vs. Tony Nese was a good match. Before the match, both men shook hands as Tony Nese walked away after shaking the hand of Lince Dorado. That was a good character development there from Tony Nese that I like so that was cool to see.

Lince Dorado did well in this match as he got to showcase his lucha libre style in the ring. His back handspring stunner on Tony Nese was well executed. Tony Nese did well in this match as he continued to show the world why he is the premier athlete. His fireman’s carry into a gutbuster was well executed. Good performances by both men here.

The ending of the match came when Tony Nese hit a running knee strike on Lince Dorado to the corner for the pin and win. Another win for The Premier Athlete as he’s looking to make a name for himself in the WWE Cruiserweight division.

After the match, Tony Nese attacked Lince Dorado and hit a German suplex on Lince Dorado to the corner. He then was about to hit Lince Dorado with another knee strike to the corner until TJ Perkins arrived and took out Tony Nese with a Fireman’s Carry dropped into an Overhead Kick as Tony Nese retreated.

It seems like the feud between TJ Perkins and Tony Nese is about to grow here and it should be a good feud for both men. Interested to see where this feud will go next.

Good match and good post-match as I’m interested to see what’s next in this TJ Perkins and Tony Nese feud.

We then get a recap of what happened on Monday Night Raw last night between Rich Swann and Neville. This is good as it showed what happened on Monday Night Raw for those who have missed or forgot about it. It also ties into the next segment which I will talk about next.

The backstage segment with Rich Swann and Neville by Tom Phillips was good. Tom Phillips asked Rich Swann about his injury that he suffered on Monday Night Raw as Rich Swann said that he hurt his ankle while attacking Neville on Monday Night Raw. However, once he recovers, he looks to get back his WWE Cruiserweight Championship.

Rich Swann then talked about how Jack Gallagher is going to beat up Neville for him until Neville showed up and told Rich Swann that he should stay down, but Rich Swann told him that he won’t. Neville then pushed Rich Swann down as Neville left which made Rich Swann pissed off.

The feud between Rich Swann and Neville is far from over and that’s good as these two put on excellent matches with each other. I’m looking forward to their third match once Rich Swann recovers from his injury. Good backstage segment here.

We then get a vignette of Gran Metalik and that he is coming to 205 Live soon. Well, we haven’t had a vignette on Gran Metalik for a while since the first episode I believe so seeing it here was cool to see. Can’t wait for the debut of Gran Metalik in 205 Live. Looking forward to it.

Akira Tozawa Vs. Aaron Solo was a good squash match. The Brian Kendrick was on commentary for this match and both Akira Tozawa and Aaron Solo shook hands before the match as Aaron Solo was looking away after shaking hands with Akira Tozawa.

Aaron Solo has made an appearance on 205 Live! Mark out moment! Great to see Aaron Solo here as he is known for his work in FIP and he is a talented wrestler that could do well in the WWE Cruiserweight division. Hope WWE signs him down the line. Also, Akira Tozawa has made his 205 Live debut! Mark out moment! It was about time that Akira Tozawa made his debut for 205 Live and I was very happy to see him.

Aaron Solo didn’t get much offense in this match as Akira Tozawa completely took control of this match as he finished Aaron Solo off with a Snap Bridging German Suplex for the pin and win. A good debut for “The Stamina Monster” Akira Tozawa as he’s looking to make a name for himself in 205 Live.

After the match, Austin Aries interviewed Akira Tozawa in the ring as Austin Aries asked Akira Tozawa about his victory as Akira Tozawa spoke in Japanese saying that he thanks the fans for his support and that he’s happy to be here where Austin Aries agreed.

I bet Austin Aries didn’t understand what Akira Tozawa was saying, but I didn’t either. However, Akira Tozawa is here in 205 Live and he’s here to make a statement in the WWE Cruiserweight division.

Good squash match and good post-match as I’m interested to see what’s next for Akira Tozawa in the WWE Crusierweight division.

The backstage segment between Neville, Noam Dar, and Alicia Fox was good. Neville was warming up backstage until Noam Dar and Alicia Fox came in as Noam Dar told Neville that they got this. Neville then told Noam Dar that he doesn’t need his help and that they’re not friends. Before Neville left, he told Noam Dar that he doesn’t care about his lovelife so he can leave his baggage behind as Alicia Fox got pissed where Noam Dar tried to calm him down.

The way Neville called Alicia Fox baggage was priceless. It seems like Neville is out only for himself and I wonder if Neville and Noam Dar can co-exist with their tag team match later on the show. I guess we’ll find out soon enough. Good backstage segment here.

Jack Gallagher & Cedric Alexander Vs. Neville & Noam Dar was a great tag team match. Before the match, Jack Gallagher and Noam Dar shook hands while Cedric Alexander offered his hand towards Neville where Neville refused to shake Cedric Alexander’s hand. I like how Neville is still refusing to shake other people’s hands because of his new character so I appreciated that a lot.

Neville & Noam Dar did great in this match as they were their usual selves here. There were points where Noam Dar tagged himself which made Neville a little bit pissed off in the process so that showed some character progression there between both men. Jack Gallagher & Cedric Alexander were great in this match as well as they were being their usual selves too. Jack Gallagher continues to be entertaining and Cedric Alexander is continuing to impress every single week. Great performances by all four men here.

The ending of the match came when Noam Dar was about to make the tag to Neville, but Neville backed out as he left Noam Dar in the ring where Cedric Alexander hit Noam Dar with a springboard clothesline followed up by a Lumbar Check (Belly-to-back suplex into a double knee backbreaker) for the pin and win for his team. Noam Dar shouldn’t get in Neville’s way because as a result, he lost the match. A good win for Cedric Alexander as he got his revenge over Noam Dar. I wonder if the feud between Cedric Alexander and Noam Dar is over? I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

Great tag team match and I’m interested to see what’s next in this Cedric Alexander and Noam Dar if it’s continuing.

Overall, good show for the tenth episode of 205 Live. It’s great to see the cruiserweights with more focus and attention here and it’s only going to get better from here. Looking forward to it.
