Published

on

The second and final day of the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament was an excellent show. UKCT will showcase 16 of the best wrestlers from the UK to compete in a single elimination tournament in order to become the first ever WWE United Kingdom Champion. Let’s break it down:

We start off the show with a video package showing highlights of Day 1 of the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament. This is good as it shows what happened on Day 1 of the tournament for those who have missed it. Well produced video package here.

We then see highlights of Saxon Huxley Vs. Sam Gradwell and Pete Dunne Vs. Roy Johnson as it will be Sam Gradwell Vs. Pete Dunne in the quarter-finals of the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament. This is good as it showed who won their matches and who will be facing each other in this next match. Should be a good one.

Sam Gradwell Vs. Pete Dunne was an excellent match. Mark out moment! These two men went out there and beat the heck out of each other after what happened between them on Day 1 of the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament. Before the match, Pete Dunne extended his hand towards Sam Gradwell for a handshake as he laughed at him where Sam Gradwell didn’t shook it. I like how Pete Dunne was laughing at Sam Gradwell while giving a handshake as it’s great character development right there and I like how Sam Gradwell stared at him with hatred when Pete Dunne extended his hand towards him as he was pissed off of what Pete Dunne did to him. I like that sort of detail a lot so I appreciated that.

Sam Gradwell did excellent in this match as he tried to get his revenge on Pete Dunne throughout the match. His suicide dive on Pete Dunne to the outside was cool to see and his strikes towards Pete Dunne looked devastating. Pete Dunne did excellent in this match too as he tried to punish and hurt Sam Gradwell. The way he worked on Sam Gradwell’s back was excellent in-ring psychology there. Excellent performances by both men here.

The ending of the match came when Pete Dunne hit a scoop slam on Sam Gradwell on the turnbuckle for the pin and win. I like how Pete Dunne won the match by injuring his back even more so that was nice.

After the match, Pete Dunne hit Sam Gradwell with the Bitter End (Pumphandle Reverse STO) as he walked up the ramp. Charly Caruso then came in to interview Pete Dunne about his win and the controversy that happened with William Regal as Pete Dunne stopped her and told her that what he did was not controversial as he has defeated two opponents and will soon beat the other two as he left.

Loving what Pete Dunne has done here as he’s making a huge statement for himself. It will be interesting to see if anyone can beat him in this tournament, but we’ll see.

Excellent match and with that, Pete Dunne moves on to the semi-finals of the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament.

We then see highlights of Mark Andrews Vs. Dan Moloney and Joseph Conners Vs. James Drake as it will be Mark Andrews Vs. Joseph Conners in the quarter-finals of the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament. This is good as it showed who won their matches and who will be facing each other in this next match. Should be a great one.

Mark Andrews Vs. Joseph Conners was an excellent match. Mark out moment! Both men went out there and delivered an excellent match where both men were very even where either man could have won the match. Before the match, both men shook hands.

Joseph Conners did excellent in this match as he tried everything he could to move on to the semi-finals of the tournament. Still loving his lariat onto the knee and the way he did it on Mark Andrews looked devastating. Excellent performance by Joseph Conners here.

Mark Andrews did excellent in this match as he showcase his high flying skills in the ring. Him walking on the barricade in order to hit a somersault senton on Joseph Conner was beautifully done and his counter from Joseph Conners’ vertical suplex into a stunner was always beautiful to see. Excellent performance from Mark Andrews here.

The ending of the match came when Mark Andrews hit a Shooting Star Press on Joseph Conners for the pin and win. Another win for Mark Andrews as he moves on to the semi-finals of the tournament.

Excellent match and with that, Mark Andrews moves on to the semi-finals of the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament as he will face Pete Dunne which should be an excellent match.

We then see Wolfgang warming up backstage as they get ready for his match which comes up next. This is good as it shows that he is here for the show and that he’s ready to compete. Looking forward to his match. Should be interesting to see.

We then see highlights of Wolfgang Vs. Tyson T-Bone and Trent Seven Vs. H.C. Dyer as it will be Wolfgang Vs. Trent Seven in the quarter-finals of the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament. This is good as it showed who won their matches and who will be facing each other in this next match. Should be an excellent one.

We then see Fit Finlay at ringside. Mark out moment for Fit Finlay being at the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament! Fit Finlay is a legend in the UK wrestling scene so it’s great to see him here for this show.

Wolfgang Vs. Trent Seven was an excellent match. Mark out moment! With these two knowing each other so well from their time together in ICW, I expect this to be an excellent match and it was. Before the match, both men shook hands.

Trent Seven did excellent in this match as he did everything he could to take out his rival from ICW, Wolfgang. His snap dragon suplex on Wolfgang was done beautifully and he also managed to play his character in the ring as well. Wolfgang did excellent in this match too as he did a moonsault from the barricade to the floor on Trent Seven which was very impressive as I didn’t expect Wolfgang to do that, but he did. That was an awesome spot.

There was a point in the match where I thought it was over as Trent Seven hit the Seven Stars (Wrist-Lock transitioned into a short-arm lariat) on Wolfgang, but Wolfgang managed to kick out and it was unbelievable. I thought Wolfgang was going to kick out so seeing Wolfgang kicking out of the Seven Stars shocked me. Excellent performances by both men here.

The ending of the match came when Wolfgang hit The Howling (High-angle senton bomb) on Trent Seven for the pin and win. Wow, I didn’t expect Wolfgang to win this match as I thought Trent Seven was about to win so seeing Wolfgang surprised me. Either way, a great win for Wolfgang here despite getting a bloody nose where I hope he’s okay.

Excellent match and with that, Wolfgang moves on to the semi-finals of the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament.

We then see Radzi who is the presenter of Blue Peter at ringside. Cool to see Radzi on the show as it shows that people from all over the UK are watching the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament which is awesome to see.

We then see highlights of Jordan Devlin Vs. Danny Burch and Tyler Bate Vs. Tucker as it will be Jordan Devlin Vs. Tyler Bate in the quarter-finals of the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament. This is good as it showed who won their matches and who will be facing each other in this next match. Should be a good one.

Jordan Devlin Vs. Tyler Bate was a great match. Before the match, Jordan Devlin extended his hand towards Tyler Bate and Tyler Bate was about to shake it, but ended up touching his mustache instead which made Jordan Devlin attacked Tyler Bate after the bell rang. Nice showcase of character development there as I appreciated that a lot.

Jordan Devlin did great in this match as he tried to move on to the semi-finals whatever means necessary. The heel tactics that Jordan Devlin use during the match with the poke of the eye and trying to get heat on himself while putting over Tyler Bate was great. His jumping corkscrew roundhouse kick on Tyler Bate was better executed here than his last match so at least Jordan Devlin executed the move correctly this time around. Great showing from Jordan Devlin here.

Tyler Bate did great in this match too as he did everything he could to move on to the semi-finals. His suicide dive and airplane spin on Jordan Devlin were fun to watch. Also, the crowd was really behind Tyler Bate so great for Tyler Bate for getting the crowd to get behind him. Great showcase from Tyler Bate here.

The ending of the match came when Tyler Bate hit the Tyler Driver ’97 (Sitout double underhook powerbomb) on Jordan Devlin for the pin and win. Wow, I didn’t expect Tyler Bate to win this match as I thought Jordan Devlin was going to win so seeing Tyler Bate going over here was a surprise. However, I’m very happy for Tyler Bate and I think he will do well in the semi-finals.

Great match and with that, Tyler Bate moves on to the semi-finals of the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament as he will face Wolfgang which should be a great match.

We then get a video package about Mark Andrews, Tyler Bate, Wolfgang, and Pete Dunne which was good. Mark Andrews talked about how being in the WWE United Kingdom Championship meant a lot to him as he will show the world what Wales can do for wrestling. Tyler Bate talked about how he may be 19 years old, but he has what it takes to be the best. Wolfgang talked about how when he wins the WWE United Kingdom Championship, there’s going to be a party. Pete Dunne talked about how he beats people up and he’s here to win. A nice way to show who these characters are again for those who aren’t familiar with them.

We then see Robbie Brookside at ringside. Mark out moment for Robbie Brookside being in the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament! Just like Fit Finlay, Robbie Brookside is another legend in the UK wrestling scene so it’s great to see him here for this show as well.

Mark Andrews Vs. Pete Dunne was an excellent match. Mark out moment! When both men were making their entrances, we see highlights of their quarter-final matches earlier in the show which was good as it showed how both men got to this point in the tournament. Before the match started, Mark Andrews extended his hand towards Pete Dunne, but Pete Dunne shoved it away.

Again, love the character progression from Pete Dunne here and with these two knowing each other so well from working with each other in the UK and the US, they were going to deliver an excellent match and they did just that.

Mark Andrews did excellent in this match as he got to showcase his high-flying abilities in the ring. His somersault dive to the outside on Pete Dunne was beautifully done. The way Mark Andrews dodged Pete Dunne’s stomp on his hand on the steps as he hit a hurricanrana on Pete Dunne on the floor was awesome to watch. Mark Andrews’ standing moonsault senton on Pete Dunne was incredible. As always, his counter to the vertical suplex with the stunner and the shooting star presses were beautifully executed as always.

Pete Dunne did excellent in this match as he showed the world why he is the bruiserweight in the ring. The way he countered Mark Andrew’s apron moonsault into a release vertical suplex on the apron was insane. His forearm smashes to Mark Andrews looked lethal as I thought Mark Andrews was out at certain points in the match with the addition of his release German suplex to the corner on Mark Andrews which looked devastating.

There were several spots in this match where I thought it was over or it was awesome to see. There was a spot where Pete Dunne hit a rolling release suplex on Mark Andrews to the outside which looked painful as heck as Mark Andrews almost looked unconscious with that spot. That was awesome and I’m glad that Mark Andrews was okay after that spot. There was a point in the match where I thought it was over when Mark Andrews countered Pete Dunne’s rolling release suplex into a hurricanrana pin where Pete Dunne kicked out which was insane. Excellent performances by both men here.

The ending of the match came when Pete Dunne hit Mark Andrews with the Bitter End (Pumphandle Reverse STO) for the pin and win. Wow, what an incredible match between these two and even though Mark Andrews lost here, he looked excellent in defeat so he had nothing to be ashamed of.

Excellent match and with that, Pete Dunne moves on to the finals of the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament.

Tyler Bate Vs. Wolfgang was a great match. When both men were making their entrances, we see highlights of their quarter-final matches earlier in the show which was good as it showed how both men got to this point in the tournament. Before the match started, both men shook hands.

Wolfgang did great in this match as he gave everything he had to move to the finals of the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament. His pop-up powerslam and spear on Tyler Bate were executed perfectly. Tyler Bate did great in this match too as he was trying to prove that his age doesn’t matter and what he does in the ring matters. The way that Tyler Bate was working on Wolfgang’s face was great in-ring psychology there as Wolfgang had a broken nose earlier in the show. Great performances by both men here.

The ending of the match came when Tyler Bate hit a Tyler Driver ’97 (Sitout double underhook powerbomb) on Wolfgang for the pin and win. Wow, I didn’t expect Tyler Bate to win this match and Tyler Bate couldn’t believe it either so that was cool to see. The people love Tyler Bate so far so seeing him win here was great for the fans. Happy for Tyler Bate here.

Great match and with that, Tyler Bate moves on to the finals of the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament.

After the match, Wolfgang and Tyler Bate shook hands for sportmanship which was nice to see. As Tyler Bate was celebrating in the ring, Pete Dunne came into the ring and hit Tyler Bate with a forearm smash as he followed it up by threwing Tyler Bate to the ringpost injuring Tyler Bate’s shoulder. Pete Dunne then left the ring and went up the ramp where William Regal pulled him to the back.

Man, first Pete Dunne attacked Sam Gradwell and now Pete Dunne attacked Tyler Bate. Pete Dunne would do anything it takes to win the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament and he had to do it with attacking people from behind which is a great heel move from him so props to Pete Dunne on that. Also, they tease William Regal Vs. Pete Dunne again which I hope that match happens in the future. It will be interesting to see Tyler Bate will be able to compete in the finals later on the show, but we’ll see.

Good post-match as I’m interested to see if Tyler Bate will be able to face Pete Dunne in the finals of the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament.

Just a reminder that Dusted by Astroid Boys is a theme for the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament and it’s a good song. The tournament has been great so far and I have a feeling it will be an excellent show, but we’ll see.

We then see Eorl Crabtree and Darren Fletcher at ringside where Eorl Crabtree is a former rugby player and Darren Fletcher is the son of Big Daddy. Cool to see both of these guys on the show as it shows that people from all over the UK are watching the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament which is awesome to see.

Neville then came out to the ring! Mark out moment! Didn’t expect him to appear on the show, but since he’s from the UK, it made sense for him to be here so great to see Neville on this show. Neville cut a promo by saying that someone has forgotten about him yet again as he wasn’t invited to the Cruiserweight Classic, 205 Live, and now, the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament. He then said that he should win the WWE United Kingdom Championship by default. He then said that the reason why he wasn’t in the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament is because that if he was in the tournament, it wouldn’t be competitive.

He then said that he is the best talent from the UK that the UK has ever produced. Neville then said that there’s no one in the UK that can beat him. Tommy End then came in to face Neville! Mark out moment! I didn’t expect Tommy End to show up at this show at all and it was great to see Tommy End use his in-ring name from the UK which is awesome to see. If you haven’t seen Tommy End in action before, you will be impressed. Anyway, let’s talk about the match!

Tommy End Vs. Neville was an excellent match. Mark out moment! This was Tommy End’s first match in WWE and I have to say that he did well for himself here as he made an excellent impression on the WWE Universe here.

Tommy End did excellent in this match as he got to showcase his skills in the ring. The Asai Moonsault that Tommy End did to Neville was done beautifully and his kicks to Neville were devastating especially his spinning roundhouse kick on Neville which looked amazing. Excellent showing from Tommy End here.

Neville did excellent in this match as he tried to prove to the world that he is the best talent that the UK has ever produced. His kicks to Tommy End were devastating and his Frankensteiner on Tommy End was executed perfectly. Excellent performance by Neville here.

The ending of the match came when Neville hit Red Arrow (Corkscrew shooting star press) on Tommy End for the pin and win. Even though Tommy End lost here, he looked excellent in defeat so he had nothing to be ashamed of. Also, you didn’t want to make Neville look weak either so this was an excellent move.

Excellent match and I’m happy to see Tommy End and Neville on this show.

We then get a recap of what happened earlier in the night as Pete Dunne injured Tyler Bate after his semi-final match. We then see Charly Caruso backstage as she said that Tyler Bate is injured, but will compete in the finals. That’s a great way to hear as I want to see the match in the finals, but I question if Tyler Bate is at a 100 percent. I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

Finn Balor then came out to the ring! Mark out moment! He appeared on Day 1 of the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament at ringside, but I didn’t expect him to show up again on this show so that was great to see. Finn Balor talked about how great the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament was so far and it’s all because of the fans in attendance and the people watching at home. He then said that the fans and the people watching at home deserved it and that the show will continue as he wants to see who will be the first ever WWE United Kingdom Champion.

I really thought Finn Balor was here to say that he was medically clear to compete and that he was going to be in the Royal Rumble match, but I guess he hasn’t recovered from his injury yet. However, I like how Finn Balor was hyping up the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament which shows that this tournament is a pretty big deal. Anyway, just like what Finn Balor said, let’s continue on with the show!

We then see highlights of Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate in their first round, quarter-final, and semi-final matches throughout the whole two days of the WWE United Kingdom Championship as Pete Dunne injured Tyler Bate’s shoulder after Tyler Bate’s semi-final match against Wolfgang. This is good as it’s hyping up the finals match between Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate which comes up next so let’s get started!

Pete Dunne Vs. Tyler Bate for the WWE United Kingdom Championship was an excellent match. Mark out moment! William Regal was out for this match as he hold the WWE United Kingdom Championship and the interaction he had with Pete Dunne as he was in the ring with him was cool to see after what happened between the two. They also did the formal in-ring introductions which showed the importance of this match which I really liked so I appreciated that a lot.

These two know each other so well as Pete Dunne trained Tyler Bate and they have wrestled each other before as tag team partners and as opponents in the ring so I expected an excellent match between the two and they delivered on that.

Pete Dunne did excellent in this match as he showed the world why he is the bruiserweight of professional wrestling. The way he worked on Tyler Bate’s shoulder throughout the whole match was excellent in-ring psychology right there as he injured Tyler Bate’s shoulder earlier in the show so it made sense for him to work on that shoulder in order to set up the double wrist lock or kimura lock.

Tyler Bate did excellent in this match as he was trying to prove that age isn’t a factor on what he can do in the ring. His reverse somersault dive on Pete Dunne to the outside was freaking amazing. Also, his airplane spin is always fun to watch as he got the crowd behind him tremendously so that was great to see.

There were certain spots in the match that were insane and I thought the match was over as both men were very evenly where either man could have won. The 450 diving double foot stomp by Tyler Bate on Pete Dunne was freaking incredible as I don’t think I have ever seen that before so that was awesome and even Pete Dunne even kicked out of that which was insane. That was an awesome spot. Another point in the match where I thought it was over is when Pete Dunne hit the Bitter End (Pumphandle Reverse STO) on Tyler Bate, but Tyler Bate kicked out of it which was insane. I really thought Pete Dunne was going to win at that point so seeing Tyler Bate kicking out was shocking to see. Excellent performances by both men here.

The ending of the match came when Tyler Bate hit Pete Dunne with the Tyler Driver ’97 (Sitout double underhook powerbomb) for the pin and to become the first ever WWE United Kingdom Champion! Mark out moment! Wow, I didn’t expect Tyler Bate to win the WWE United Kingdom Championship at all as I thought it would be either Pete Dunne or Trent Seven originally so seeing Tyler Bate winning the championship here shocked me. However, he had an incredible experience for the past two days so I have nothing, but respect for Tyler Bate as he earned it. Even though Pete Dunne lost here, he looked excellent in defeat and he had nothing to be ashamed of as I’m pretty sure we haven’t seen the last of Pete Dunne in WWE.

After the match, Triple H, Fit Finlay, William Regal, and Finn Balor came into the ring to celebrate Tyler Bate’s win as Triple H gave Tyler Bate the WWE United Kingdom Championship as he raised his hand while the others applauded him. Triple H then put on the belt on Tyler Bate as Tyler Bate then shook the hands of Finn Balor, Fit Finlay, and William Regal as Triple H raised Tyler Bate’s hand with the WWE United Kingdom Championship around Tyler Bate’s waist. Triple H then shook hands with Tyler Bate as Triple H, Finn Balor, Fit Finlay, and William Regal left the ring for Tyler Bate to celebrate as confetti fall down to end the show.

What a moment for Tyler Bate here and he’s only 19 years old as well as he has a lot to grow up from this and he’s only going to get better from here. I’m very happy for Tyler Bate and he deserved this moment so congratulations to Tyler Bate for being the first ever WWE United Kingdom Champion!

Overall, excellent show for the second and final day of the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament. Well, the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament has ended and it was fun while it lasted. If you haven’t already watched the shows, I recommend you do as these shows were amazing as it showcased the UK talent very well. I hope they do another UK Tournament in the future that features other UK talent, but only time will tell. Till then, hope they make a weekly WWE UK show for these UK talents in the future.
