NXT Showcase: Alexa Bliss

Topic/Subject: Today, I will be showing a promo that involves a wicked witch.

Wrestler: “The Wicked Witch” Alexa Bliss.

Background Information: Alexa Bliss is from Columbus, Ohio. She is trained by the Performance Center, Bill DeMott, and Sara Amato.

She has been involved in sports since age five, competing softball, track and kickboxing and gymnastics.

She also spent time in competitive bodybuilding placing 14th at the 2013 Arnold Classic held in her home state of Ohio. It was around that time when she attracted the eyes of the professional wrestling community.

She signed a developmental contract with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) during April 2013. She was sent to the company’s developmental program NXT where she began working by her first ring name of Alexa Bliss.

She made her debut at the June 20, 2013 NXT tapings, coming into the ring with other Divas to congratulate Paige on winning the first ever NXT Women’s Championship.

At a NXT live event on August 8, 2013, she appeared with a county girl gimmick and a love interest of Scott Dawson.

She made her in-ring debut at an NXT live event on September 20, 2013, where she, Emma, and Sasha Banks were defeated by Bayley, Paige, and Kendall Skye.

She made her singles match debut at a NXT live event in November 2013 where she was defeated by Sasha Banks.

She appeared as a ring announcer on November 20, 2013, on an edition of NXT.

On March 21, 2014, she competed as a heel at an NXT live event teaming with Sasha Banks and Charlotte in a losing effort to Paige, Emma, and Bayley.

She made her televised in-ring debut on May 8, 2014, on an edition of NXT as a babyface and defeated Alicia Fox in the first round of the NXT Women’s Championship Tournament.

After an injury-related hiatus, she returned to the ring on March 11, 2015, on an episode of NXT, defeating Carmella.

She began showing signs of a heel turn on April 30, 2015, on an episode of NXT, when she confronted Carmella in a backstage segment only to have NXT Tag Team Champions Blake and Murphy come to her aid.

On May 20, 2015, at NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable, she attacked Carmella and helped Blake and Murphy retain their championships against Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady, turning her into a heel.

On July 19, 2016, she was drafted to the SmackDown brand as a part of the 2016 WWE Draft.

Throughout her WWE career, she became a WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion. She still competes in WWE to this day and it is a part of the SmackDown Live! brand.

She is an avid fan of Disney. She has cited Trish Stratus and Rey Mysterio as her influences in wrestling.

My Thoughts: Alexa Bliss is a talented woman that has improved over the years. She has a good look, she has a presence about her in and outside of the ring, she has a good character, good charisma, and she’s a good wrestler in the ring. Bliss!

Video: This video contains a video blog of Alexa Bliss on May 8, 2014.

My Thoughts: This was a good video blog that showcased her mic skills and her character briefly as she’s preparing for her debut on NXT.

Alexa Bliss talks about how ever since coming to Wrestlemania Axxess, she’s been getting some momentum where she’s excited to make her debut for NXT. She then showed off her character with her showing a lot of bling and glitter with her attire. She then said that she has trained in the Performance Center every day and she said to Alicia Fox that she better get ready as she’s ready for her debut.

Not the best promo that Alexa Bliss ever made, but she was still learning during this time and I thought she did alright to showcase her character and so forth. Also, the glitter gimmick that Alexa Bliss was playing back then, she did pretty well with the gimmick as she managed to get the crowd behind her when she was using the gimmick. However, she has evolved into a better character as the years go by, but that’s another story for another time.

Good video blog that showcased Alexa Bliss’ mic skills and character when she was about to make her debut for NXT.

It’s amazing on how much Alexa Bliss has improved since she first started in NXT and she’s only getting better from here. I wish nothing, but the best for Alexa Bliss and I hope she continues to have great success in the WWE. Bliss!

After watching the video, give me your thoughts on the video or the wrestler herself. Thank you.
