205 Live on April 4, 2017 was a good show. 205 Live is a show where the cruiserweights take center stage as they will risk their bodies to entertain us wrestling fans. Let’s break it down:

We start off the show with a video package as we see highlights of Neville Vs. Austin Aries for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship at Wrestlemania 33. This is good as it lets people know what happened at Wrestlemania 33 in case people missed it or forgot about it. Well produced video package here.

Before I talk about the show itself, the commentary team for this week’s show contains Tom Phillips and Corey Graves as Mauro Ranallo is still inactive. I wonder if Mauro Ranallo at this point is gone from WWE and if that’s the case, that’s a shame because Mauro Ranallo was a great commentator and it will be a shame to see him go. However, we don’t know the details yet, but I will let you guys know if Mauro Ranallo is gone from WWE or not. Till then, we got the old NXT commentary team for this show once again and they did well here so props to them.

Akira Tozawa Vs. The Brian Kendrick was a good match. We then get a recap of what happened last week when The Brian Kendrick beat Akira Tozawa. This is good as it showed what happened last week in case people missed or forgot about it so I was fine with it. Before the match, The Brian Kendrick cut a promo on Akira Tozawa and told him he doesn’t learn from his match last week as he gave him lesson number ten. Lesson number ten is not about athleticism, it’s about psychological supremacy. Like how The Brian Kendrick was playing mind games with Akira Tozawa there. He’s “The Man with a Plan”!

The Brian Kendrick did well in this match as he continued to teach lessons to Akira Tozawa. The way he was working on Akira Tozawa’s face was good in-ring psychology there. Akira Tozawa did good in this match too as he tried to avenge his loss to The Brian Kendrick from last week. His bicycle kick, followed by a soccer kick, into a jumping senton were well executed. Good performances by both men here.

The ending of the match came when Akira Tozawa landed awkwardly on his feet as the referee checked on Akira Tozawa’s leg. When The Brian Kendrick had his back turned, Akira Tozawa rolled up The Brian Kendrick with a O’Connor Roll for the pin and win. A clever way to win the match right there as Akira Tozawa outsmarted The Brian Kendrick here. Akira Tozawa got on the mic after the match and told The Brian Kendrick that his psychological supremacy is his lesson number one. It seems like this feud will continue which is fine by me as I’m really enjoying this feud thus far and I can’t wait to see what happens next. Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah!

Good match and I’m interested to see what’s next in this feud between Akira Tozawa and The Brian Kendrick.

Rich Swann Vs. Oney Lorcan was a great match. Oney Lorcan has made an appearance on 205 Live! Mark out moment! Great to see Oney Lorcan here on 205 Live even though I think it’s only an one time appearance, but great to see him on 205 Live regardless.

Oney Lorcan did great in this match as he was making a name for himself in 205 Live. The way he hit European Uppercuts on Rich Swann the moment the bell rang was awesome to see. The way he hit a front suplex slam on Rich Swann on the ropes looked painful as heck. His double leg slam on Rich Swann to the corner looked devastating as well. Rich Swann did great in this match too as he tried to get back on top of the Cruiserweight division. His superkick and no hands Frankensteiner on Oney Lorcan were awesome to see. Great performances by both men here.

The ending of the match came when Rich Swann hit a corkscrew 450 splash on Oney Lorcan for the pin and win. A good win for Rich Swann as he’s looking to get back on top of the cruiserweight division. Can you handle this?!

After the match, Rich Swann cut a promo about how for the past few weeks, Alicia Fox have been getting presents as of late and supposedly, it was from Noam Dar. However, he then admitted that the presents that Alicia Fox has been getting as of late was from him as he left the ring.

So Rich Swann was the guy who has been giving the gifts to Alicia Fox for the past few weeks. I bet Noam Dar won’t be happy about that, but I think Alicia Fox will though. Will be interesting to see how both Alicia Fox and Noam Dar react to Rich Swann after this. Can you handle this?!

Great match and I’m interested to see what’s next in this feud between Rich Swann and Noam Dar.

The backstage segment between Mustafa Ali and Drew Gulak was good. Mustafa Ali was walking backstage until Drew Gulak came in and told Mustafa Ali that he lost to Neville on Monday Night Raw and that he doesn’t know if he will win the four way match later on the show. Mustafa Ali told Drew Gulak that he doesn’t buy what he’s saying as he was about to leave until Drew Gulak stopped him and told him that change is coming to 205 Live and sooner or later, Mustafa Ali is going to change his style whether he likes it or not as he leaves.

We then see Trent Seven, Mark Andrews, Wolfgang, Pete Dunne, and Tyler Bate on the ramp as it was announced that a WWE Network exclusive is coming for the UK stars soon. Awesome news to hear as I have been waiting for a weekly UK TV show from the WWE ever since the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament and we’re finally going to get one. Can’t wait for the show when it comes. Looking forward to it.

The promo segment from Neville was good. Neville talked about how there’s no one on the Neville level and that he proved the WWE Universe wrong when he defeated Austin Aries at Wrestlemania 33. He then said that him holding the WWE Cruiserweight Championship says it all. Neville then talked about how people are blaming him for attacking Austin Aries’ eye during their match at Wrestlemania where he replied by saying that he did it because he can as he celebrates with the WWE Universe. Neville then thanked the fans for never believing in him as it lit a fire in him. He then thanked Austin Aries for defeating him at Wrestlemania 33 which made him better than he already is. He finally thanked 205 Live as no one is going to take his championship away from him. He then said that he’s going to watch the four way match so he can find the next person for him to slaughter as he left the ring.

This was a very good promo from Neville as he got even more confident than he already is. Will be interesting to see who will face Neville next for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. Bow down to the king!

Good promo segment and I’m interested to see who will face Neville next for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.

Gentleman Jack Gallagher Vs. TJ Perkins Vs. Mustafa Ali Vs. Austin Aries was an excellent match. Mark out moment! All of these four men went out there and delivered an excellent match where neither man looked weak in the process. Before the match, all the competitors in the ring shook hands.

Mustafa Ali was excellent in this match as he got to showcase his skills in the ring. His spinning Tornado DDT on TJ Perkins was beautifully executed.

Gentleman Jack Gallagher was also excellent in this match as he got to show his charisma and skills in the ring. The way he hit a diving senton with William III to the outside onto everyone was cool to see. His running dropkick on Mustafa Ali on the top rope was well executed and his headbutt on TJ Perkins looked devastating.

TJ Perkins was excellent in this match too as he tried to climb back up the ladder of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship picture. His bulldog/clothesline combination on Austin Aries and Gentleman Jack Gallagher was cool to see. His fireman’s carry dropped into an overhead kick on Gentleman Jack Gallagher looked devastating.

Austin Aries was excellent in this match as he tried to get another shot at the WWE Cruiserweight Championship against Neville. He was also being himself in this match while making himself look excellent while making others look excellent.

There were certain spots in the match where I thought the spots were cool to watch such as the the spot where Gentleman Jack Gallagher had TJ Perkins in a reverse DDT where Austin Aries had Gentleman Jack Gallagher in a reverse DDT and Mustafa Ali hit a rolling through the ropes into a neckbreaker on Austin Aries where he hit a reverse DDT on Gentleman Jack Gallagher and Gentleman Jack Gallagher hit a reverse DDT on TJ Perkins all at the same time. Another cool spot was where Gentleman Jack Gallagher and Austin Aries hit a double superplex on Mustafa Ali on TJ Perkins’ back was pretty cool to see. Excellent performances by all four men here.

The ending of the match came when Austin Aries hit a Discus Fivearm (Discus forearm smash) on TJ Perkins for the pin and win. A great win for Austin Aries as he gets another shot at the WWE Cruiserweight Championship as he stared at Neville after the match. Looking forward to the rematch between the two down the road. “The Greatest Man That Ever Lived”!

Excellent four way match and I’m looking forward to Neville Vs. Austin Aries for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship down the road.

Overall, good show for the ninteenth episode of 205 Live. It’s great to see the cruiserweights with more focus and attention here and it’s only going to get better from here. Looking forward to it.
