205 Live 5/2/17 Review: Love is Back in the Air with Alicia Foooooooooooooxxxxxxx!

205 Live on May 2, 2017 was a good show. 205 Live is a show where the cruiserweights take center stage as they will risk their bodies to entertain us wrestling fans. Let’s break it down:

We start off the show with a video package as we see highlights of Neville Vs. Austin Aries for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship at WWE Payback and Austin Aries Vs. TJ Perkins on Monday Night Raw. This is good as it lets people know what happened at WWE Payback and on Monday Night Raw in case people missed it or forgot about it. Well produced video package here.

Lince Dorado Vs. TJ Perkins was a great match. Both men went out there and delivered a great match where neither man looked weak in the process.

Lince Dorado did great in this match as he tried to get a win in 205 Live. His kick and Asai Moonsault on TJ Perkins were well executed. His moonsault double knee drop on the back of TJ Perkins looked devastating. TJ Perkins did great in this match as well as he’s trying to get back on track in the Cruiseweight division. The way TJ Perkins was trying to take off Lince Dorado’s mask during the match was a great way to get heel heat. Great performances by both men here.

The ending of the match came when Lince Dorado went for a sunset flip pin on TJ Perkins, but TJ Perkins reversed it into a kneebar to make Lince Dorado tap out for the win. A good win for TJ Perkins as he’s looking to get revenge on Austin Aries in the near future. *Dabs*

Great match and I’m interested to see what’s next for Lince Dorado and TJ Perkins.

The sit-down interview with The Brian Kendrick by Corey Graves was good. Corey Graves asked The Brian Kendrick how the feud between him and Akira Tozawa gotten so personal where The Brian Kendrick responded by saying that he has known Akira Tozawa for years and he had a bond with Akira Tozawa in Japan. However, once Akira Tozawa came to WWE, he changed and all what The Brian Kendrick wanted to do was be Akira Tozawa’s teacher. The Brian Kendrick said that he was assaulted by Akira Tozawa and that he thinks he knows it all which makes The Brian Kendrick think that Akira Tozawa disrespected him and all what he wanted to was to be his master and teach Akira Tozawa his lessons. Corey Graves then told The Brian Kendrick that his plan backfired in which The Brian Kendrick agreed with, but said that Akira Tozawa is too busy playing with the crowd that he’s not focusing on winning matches which makes him sick.

As The Brian Kendrick was about to continue, Akira Tozawa attacked him from behind with a big boot to the side of the head. Akira Tozawa then sit on the chair that The Brian Kendrick was sitting while smiling and saying that lesson number five is to end an interview with impact.

Once again, Akira Tozawa got the better of The Brian Kendrick here and it seems like the feud will finally come to blow soon. Looking forward to the match between the two when it happens. Good sit-down interview here.

Mustafa Ali Vs. Drew Gulak was a good match. Before the match, we got a recap of what happened last week when Drew Gulak pulled out Tony Nese to give Tony Nese the win as Mustafa Ali got disqualified which led to Mustafa Ali hitting a somersault dive to the outside on Drew Gulak. This is good as it shows what happened last week in 205 Live for those who have missed or forgot about it so that was nice.

As Drew Gulak was making his entrance, he was speaking in the megaphone saying that he’s going to make a statement out of Mustafa Ali while doing his chant afterward. We also got a promo from him earlier on the show where he said that 205 Live could be a great place if people like Mustafa Ali didn’t do high risk moves. He then said that he will change 205 Live for the better. Nice continuation of Drew Gulak’s character here which I appreciate. Anyway, to the match itself.

Mustafa Ali did well in this match as he tried to get payback for what Drew Gulak has done to him for the past few weeks. His rolling through the middle ropes into a jumping neckbreaker was well executed. Drew Gulak did well in this match too as he tried to make sure that Mustafa Ali doesn’t pull out his high-flying moves. His clothesline to Mustafa Ali looked devastating. Good performances by both men here.

The ending of the match came when Mustafa Ali tried to hit Drew Gulak with a frog splash, but Drew Gulak had his knees up and rolled Mustafa Ali into a pin for the win. A good win for Drew Gulak as he tries to make 205 Live great. He’s not lying, no high-flying!

After the match, Dasha Fuentes came into the ring and interviewed Drew Gulak about his win as Drew Gulak said that his victory was part of his campaign and that high-flying doesn’t work. He then said that the fans are letting the high-flyers risk their lives for their entertainment, but it doesn’t work because it will make them lose. He then said that what he’s doing is right and that he’s the future of 205 Live.

It looks like Drew Gulak is trying to make 205 Live better in his vision, but I don’t think Mustafa Ali will like about that. Looking forward to the rematch between the two because this feud is far from over in my opinion so I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Good match and I’m interested to see what’s next in this Mustafa Ali and Drew Gulak feud.

We then get a video package of the Rich Swann, Noam Dar, and Alicia Fox feud and it was good. This is helping build up Rich Swann Vs. Noam Dar which comes up next on this show so I’m looking forward to that match which should be great. Well produced video package here.

Rich Swann Vs. Noam Dar was an excellent match. Mark out moment! With these two feuding each other for months now, it led to this match and it was an excellent match where one have to pick up the victory over the other.

Rich Swann did excellent in this match as he tried to get revenge for Cedric Alexander. The way he took down Noam Dar with that top toehold was very unique and innovative even if it was a botch. His dropkick to Noam Dar was perfectly executed. his corkscrew 450 splash on Noam Dar was beautifully well done. Excellent performance from Rich Swann here.

Noam Dar did excellent in this match as well as he tried to get revenge on Rich Swann for what he has done to him and Alicia Fox for the past few months. The way he worked on Rich Swann’s arm throughout the whole match was excellent in-ring psychology there. I was surprised that Noam Dar kicked out of the corkscrew 450 splash from Rich Swann so props to Noam Dar there. His legsweep kick on Rich Swann as he made Rich Swann tripped on the turnbuckle was well planned from Noam Dar there. Excellent performance from Noam Dar here.

The ending of the match came when Noam Dar hit a running enzuigiri on Rich Swann for the pin and win. A great win for Noam Dar as he managed to get revenge on Rich Swann.

After the match, Alicia Fox came to the ring and tried to convince Noam Dar to come back with her. Noam Dar was hesitant at first until he decided to hug Alicia Fox where they both hugged each other as they are together once again! Mark out moment!

Yes! This duo is back together and I’m so happy for it as these two have some pretty good chemistry with each other and if for one reason only, it’s all because of Noam Dar saying Alicia Fox’s name. Love it. It seems like the feud between Rich Swann and Noam Dar feud and I’m interested to see what’s next for Noam Dar and Alicia Fox. Alicia Fooooooooxxxxxx!

Excellent match and I’m looking forward to what’s next for Rich Swann, Noam Dar, and Alicia Fox.

Overall, good show for the twenty third episode of 205 Live. It’s great to see the cruiserweights with more focus and attention here and it’s only going to get better from here. Looking forward to it.
