FCW Sunshine: Savannah (Black Lotus)

Topic/Subject: Today, I will be showing a match that involves a woman that is a ninja from the Black Lotus Tribe.

Wrestler: “The Ninja” Savannah (Black Lotus).

Background Information: Savannah is billed from Hong Kong, China. She is trained by the staff of Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW).

She made her first appearance in the WWE in the Diva Search 2007 and although it did not become one of the eight finalists, WWE later offered to sign a contract in February 2008.

By March 2008, she made her debut in Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) as Miss Angela where she became an assistant for The Puerto Rican Nightmares (Eddie Colon and Eric Perez) until she later began to stage many struggles against adversaries such as The Bella Twins, Victoria Crawford, Daisy, and Taryn Terrell.

She made her wrestling debut on August 19, 2008 against Roucka in a match that ended in victory with the assistance of Wesley Holiday.

When FCW debut as a weekly series in the Bright House Sports Network of Florida, Angela made her television debut in the second episode, where she competed in a contest twist together with Alicia Fox, Roucka, Wesley Holiday, Tiffany and Brie Bella.

Throughout her FCW career, she became the Queen of FCW. She competed with FCW until she was called up to the main roster.

She made her main roster as as Savannah on September 8, 2009, on ECW as a backstage interviewer replacing Courtney Taylor.

After the departure of Lauren Mayhew, she took over ring announcing duties until the final episode of ECW in February 2010.

On the debut of NXT, she was the ring announcer for the first season. On June 8, 2010, on the debut of the second season she was replaced by Jamie Keyes and was seen on RAW as a backstage interviewer.

On June 23, 2010, WWE announced that she had been released from her contract.

In September 2014, it was announced she would be appearing on the new wrestling TV show Lucha Underground with her ring name being Black Lotus.

She made her Lucha Underground debut on Ultima Lucha Dos Part 3 in a match against Dragon Azteca Jr. She still competes in Lucha Underground to this day.

If she ever gets a second chance with WWE, she would do better in her second run than her first if given a chance and opportunity. Plus, she’s a ninja in Lucha Underground. Who doesn’t like that?

My Thoughts: Savannah was a woman that had a lot of potential during her time in FCW. Even though she was lacking character and charisma during her time in FCW, she has a great look, she has a presence about her in and outside of the ring, and she was a solid wrestler in the ring. Black Lotus Tribe!

Video: This video contains a match between Savannah and Naomi Night in the semi-finals of the FCW Divas Championship Tournament in mid 2010.

My Thoughts: This was a good women’s match that Savannah’s skills in the ring as she was looking to make history in this match.

While she was making her entrance, we see a video promo from her as she said that she won the Queen of FCW Tournament and she will be making history as she’ll try to become the first ever FCW Divas Champion by facing her long time rival Serena.

Not the best promo ever, but she has managed to get her point across and I like the little nod she did where she mentioned her rivalry with Serena for the Queen of FCW so that was a nice touch. Solid promo that got her point across.

Her hurricanrana and spinning headscissors on Naomi Night were well executed and the way she did it was very unique during this time so that was nice to see. Even though she lost this match, she looked good in defeat so she had nothing to be ashamed of losing here.

Good women’s match that showcased Savannah’s skills in the ring.

It’s a shame that WWE hasn’t given her much of a chance as she had a lot of potential in the ring as she has gotten better once she got released from WWE as we see her skills in Lucha Underground as Black Lotus. She has not only improved in the ring, but also improved her character and charisma to make herself a more well-rounded wrestler.

I don’t know if Savannah or Black Lotus has any intention of going back to WWE, but if she does and if WWE is interested in her again, she may do better in her second run than her first. However, she’s doing well in Lucha Underground so there’s no need for that at the moment. Black Lotus Tribe!

After watching the video, give me your thoughts on the video or the wrestler herself. Thank you.
