NXT on July 19, 2017 was a great show that is building up characters as well as possibly building new feuds and storylines in the near future. Let’s break it down:

We start off the show with Ember Moon Vs. Ruby Riot and it was an excellent women’s match. Mark out moment! Before the match started, we saw a recap of what happened two weeks ago between Ember Moon and Ruby Riot which led up to their match on this show. This is good as it shows why this match is happening and so forth. Anyway, let’s talk about this match.

Ruby Riot did excellent in this match as she tried to prove that she should get a shot at the NXT Women’s Championship. Her diving senton and Frankensteiner on Ember Moon were beautifully executed. Excellent work from Ruby Riot here.

Ember Moon did excellent in this match too as she showed that she hasn’t had any ring rust since her arm injury. Her discus elbow smash on Ruby Riot looked devastating as it knocked out Ruby Riot for a moment. Excellent work from Ember Moon here.

The ending of the match came when Ember Moon hit The Eclipse (Diving corkscrew stunner) on Ruby Riot for the pin and win. A great win for Ember Moon as I expect her to get her rematch against Asuka for the NXT Women’s Championship at NXT Brooklyn III.

Excellent women’s match and I’m intrigued on what NXT has for Ember Moon and Ruby Riot in the future.

The backstage segment between Kassius Ohno and Hideo Itami earlier in the show was good. Kassius Ohno was being interviewed about his current run in NXT compared to his last one until he was interrupted by Hideo Itami who confronted him about his interference for the past few weeks. Kassius Ohno then told Hideo Itami that they will wrestle each other next week as Hideo Itami wasn’t very happy about that as he kicked over a trash can lid and left pissed.

So wait, we’re going to have Kassius Ohno Vs. Hideo Itami next week instead of NXT Brooklyn III? Wow, another big match going to be on free TV instead of the big show of NXT Brooklyn III which is about a month away. It should be a great match, but I question why they would do it next week and not NXT Brooklyn III. Maybe they have something bigger planned, but who knows. Good backstage segment here.

We then get another vignette of Street Profits as they’re coming to NXT soon. I’m really digging their characters so far and they have the potential to be an unique tag team in NXT. Looking forward to their debut as a tag team soon.

Oney Lorcan Vs. Danny Burch was a great match. Danny Burch made another appearance in NXT! Mark out moment! It’s cool to see him again as he’s probably there to hype up the potential weekly WWE UK series on the WWE Network which I hope happens.

Danny Burch did great in this match as he showed great aggression in this match. His clothesline and powerbomb on Oney Lorcan looked devastating. Oney Lorcan did great in this match too as he tried to make a statement in NXT. His palm strikes and European Uppercuts on Danny Burch looked devastating to the point where Danny Burch bled. Great work from both men here.

The ending of the match came when Oney Lorcan locked in a single leg Boston Crab on Danny Burch to make Danny Burch submit for the win. A great win for Oney Lorcan and I hope he continues to get wins in NXT.

After the match, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch shook hands, but Danny Burch didn’t let go and asked Oney Lorcan for one more match as Oney Lorcan agreed.

So we’re going to get a rematch between Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch down the line? Nice. They had potential to deliver an excellent match so I hope the next time they face, they will deliver it.

Great match and good post-match as I’m looking forward to the rematch between Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch down the road.

We then see Killian Dain in the parking lot as he’s ready for his match against Drew McIntyre later on the show. Killian Dain looks dangerous here and he looks like he’s ready to destroy Drew McIntyre later on the show. Looking forward to that match later on the show. Should be great.

No Way Jose Vs. Cezar Bononi was a good squash match. Before the match, we got a recap of what happened two months ago when Cezar Bononi got a upset victory over Andrade “Cien” Almas. Nice to see that NXT remembering his win over Andrade “Cien” Almas even though it shouldn’t have happened. Anyway, back to the match itself.

Despite Cezar Bononi hitting a nice dropkick on No Way Jose, No Way Jose got the better of Cezar Bononi in this match as he hit the pop up knockout punch on Cezar Bononi for the pin and win. A good win for No Way Jose as he looks to get back on track in NXT.

After the match, Andrade “Cien” Almas and Thea Trinidad were at ringside as Andrade “Cien” Almas entered the ring and attacked Cezar Bononi which led to Andrade “Cien” Almas motioning to No Way Jose to get him as No Way Jose entered the ring, but Andrade “Cien” Almas retreated along with Thea Trinidad as they head to the back.

So we’re going to get a feud between No Way Jose and Andrade “Cien” Almas, that’s fine by me as it could benefit both men especially Andrade “Cien” Almas. Will this match happen at NXT Brooklyn III? I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

Good squash match and good post-match as a feud between No Way Jose and Andrade “Cien” Almas interest me.

We then see Drew McIntyre backstage as he’s ready for his match against Killian Dain which comes up next. Drew McIntyre looks fired up here and he should bring it against Killian Dain next. Let’s go to the match!

Just a reminder that Bleeding In the Blur by Code Orange is a theme for NXT Brooklyn III and it’s a good song. NXT Brooklyn III is in five weeks and I’m looking forward to the show. It should be great.

Drew McIntyre Vs. Killian Dain in a #1 Contender’s match for the NXT Championship was excellent. Mark out moment! These two have wrestled each other before in the UK and now they have to face each other again in a NXT ring.

Killian Dain did excellent in this match as he showed that he is a monster and no one should mess with him. His Irish whip to Drew McIntyre to the corner looked painful as heck as Drew McIntyre’s back hit hard on that turnbuckle. The avalanche fisherman buster on Drew McIntyre looked devastating as well.

Drew McIntyre did excellent in this match too as he showed why he should be next in line for the NXT Championship. His powerbomb on Killian Dain from the corner was impressive to see as it shows great strength from Drew McIntyre.

There were points in the match where I thought it was over because they made Killian Dain look like a monster in this match as Drew McIntyre hit a Future Shock (Snap double underhook DDT) on Killian Dain, but Killian Dain kicked out at one. Wow, didn’t see that coming especially at the one count. Killian Dain is hard to put down. This continued when Drew McIntyre hit a Claymore (Running single leg dropkick) on Killian Dain, but Killian Dain got back up afterwards. Seriously, this man is a monster that can’t go down, my god. Excellent work from both men here.

The ending of the match came when Drew McIntyre hit another Claymore on Killian Dain for the pin and win. Killian Dain may lost, but it took a Future Shock and two Claymores to finally put down Killian Dain. Killian Dain is a man to look out for NXT in the near future. A great win for Drew McIntyre as he will face Bobby Roode for the NXT Championship at NXT Brooklyn III.

After the match, Drew McIntyre was yelling to the camera that NXT will no longer be Bobby Roode’s NXT as he’s coming for him and he will be the next NXT Champion.

Drew McIntyre already has his eyes set on Bobby Roode for the NXT Championship which should be a great match. Surprised that this feud never happened in TNA, but we’re going to get it in NXT which should be good. Looking forward to the match at NXT Brooklyn III.

Excellent match and I’m looking forward to Bobby Roode Vs. Drew McIntyre for the NXT Championship at NXT Brooklyn III.

Overall, great show that is building up characters as well as possibly building new feuds and storylines in the near future. Next week, we are going to have Kassius Ohno Vs. Hideo Itami which should be interesting to see. Looking forward to it. NXT! NXT! NXT!
