205 Live on August 1, 2017 was a good show. 205 Live is a show where the cruiserweights take center stage as they will risk their bodies to entertain us wrestling fans. Let’s break it down:

We start off the show with a video package highlighting the feud between Neville, Akira Tozawa, and Ariya Daivari for the past month. This is good as it’s setting up for Akira Tozawa Vs. Ariya Daivari later on the show where the winner will face Neville for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship at WWE Summerslam. Should be a great match. Well produced video package here.

Gentleman Jack Gallagher Vs. The Brian Kendrick was a good match for what it was. While The Brian Kendrick was making his entrance to the ring, he cut a promo on how he told people week after week that Gentleman Jack Gallagher is a clown and he’s going to prove it.

The Brian Kendrick may think that Gentleman Jack Gallagher is a clown, but Gentleman Jack Gallagher is not a clown especially when he’s in the ring. We’ll see if The Brian Kendrick can prove it. Let’s talk about the match itself.

Gentleman Jack Gallagher was really aggressive in this match to the point where he ended up being disqualified after stomping on The Brian Kendrick near the ring apron without stopping. This led to Gentleman Jack Gallagher throwing The Brian Kendrick multiple times to the barricade and towards the LED board. He was about to finish The Brian Kendrick off with an umbrella, but The Brian Kendrick retreated to the crowd.

The Brian Kendrick just witnessed another side of Gentleman Jack Gallagher that he doesn’t want to see. I wonder if The Brian Kendrick will consider Gentleman Jack Gallagher a clown.

Good match for what it was and good post-match as the feud between Gentleman Jack Gallagher and The Brian Kendrick has increased.

The backstage segment between Rich Swann, Mustafa Ali, and TJP was good. Rich Swann and Mustafa Ali were playing WWE 2K17 on the TV until TJP came in and told Rich Swann that he isn’t looking good as Mustafa Ali left. Rich Swann asked TJP if he’s still obessed with his loss against him a few weeks back where TJP told him he barely beat him. Rich Swann then told TJP that he will give him a match against next week as they started to play WWE 2K17 with each other.

So we’re going to get another match between the two next week. Looking forward to the match as these two have great chemistry with each other. Good backstage segment here.

We then see Ariya Daivari backstage as he’s getting ready for his match against Akira Tozawa later on the show. Ariya Daivari looked focused here, but will he earn a shot at the WWE Cruiserweight Championship? We’ll find out soon enough.

Gran Metalik Vs. Tony Nese was a good match. After Tony Nese made his entrance to the ring, we saw a recap of what happened last week when TJP and Tony Nese beat Rich Swann and Cedric Alexander. After the recap, he cut a promo in the ring saying that this is what a premier athlete looks like as he showed off his body to the WWE Universe. He then told the WWE Universe that they are envious of his physique because he knows that he’s better than everyone in Cleveland, Ohio. He then talked about how Gran Metalik just looks like the WWE Universe as they don’t look like anything special, they’re nothing. Nice to see Tony Nese getting some mic time on this show showing his character and personality. Hope he gets a push from this.

As Gran Metalik was making his way to the ring, he had a video promo where he said that Tony Nese may be talented, but he doesn’t have heart where Gran Metalik will show that Tony Nese. Nice to see Gran Metalik again after not seeing him for a while. He also got a new mask too which is cool to see. Back to the match itself.

Gran Metalik hit a nice springboard moonsault to the outside and diving crossbody on Tony Nese while Tony Nese hit a devastating legsweep on Gran Metalik on the ropes. Good work from both men here.

The ending of the match came when Tony Nese hit a running knee strike to Gran Metalik in the corner for the pin and win. A good win for Tony Nese as he continued his momentum from last week.

Good match as I want to see what’s next for Gran Metalik and Tony Nese in the cruiserweight division.

We then see Akira Tozawa backstage warming up as he’s getting ready for his match against Ariya Daivari later on the show. Akira Tozawa is still not at a hundred percent with his injured shoulder, but he’s looking ready to win.

The backstage interview with Neville by Dasha Fuentes was good. Neville talked about how Akira Tozawa has been messing with him for the past month and he thought he would get rid of him since Great Balls of Fire, but he’s coming back and he’s sick ot it. He then said that he didn’t know that Ariya Daivari existed until last week and he said that he will regret what he did to him because it doesn’t matter who wins as either one of them will kneel before him as king.

Neville seemed very confident that he could defeat either Akira Tozawa or Ariya Daivari at Summerslam. Let’s see how the match will turn out. Good backstage interview here.

Akira Tozawa Vs. Ariya Daivari was an excellent match. Mark out moment! After Ariya Daivari made his entrance to the ring, he cut a promo saying that he will decidate his victory to Rasoul Khadem who is another olympic gold medalist from Iran. He then said that he will represent his nation of Iran as he will become WWE Cruiserweight Champion at Summerslam.

Ariya Daivari is really full of himself here, but he’s very proud of his heritage so I’ll give him that much. Let’s see if he can beat Akira Tozawa which I will talk about the match next.

Ariya Daivari did excellent in this match as he tried to win for Iran. His double knee armbreaker and frog splash on Akira Tozawa were perfectly executed. His in-ring psychology on Akira Tozawa’s shoulder was on point. Excellent work from Ariya Daivari here.

Akira Tozawa did excellent in this match as well showing that he can still fight despite an injured shoulder. His suicide dive on Ariya Daivari was beautifully executed as it was fast and furious. Excellent work from Akira Tozawa here.

The ending of the match came when Akira Tozawa hit a diving senton on Ariya Daivari for the pin and win. A good win for Akira Tozawa as he will face Neville for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship at Summerslam as Neville was watching the match backstage. Should be another excellent match between the two.

Excellent match and I’m looking forward to Neville Vs. Akira Tozawa for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship at Summerslam.

Overall, good show for the thirty sixth episode of 205 Live. It’s great to see the cruiserweights with more focus and attention here and it’s only going to get better from here. Looking forward to it.
