205 Live on August 8, 2017 was a good show. 205 Live is a show where the cruiserweights take center stage as they will risk their bodies to entertain us wrestling fans. Let’s break it down:

We start off the show with a video package highlighting the feud between Rich Swann and TJP for the past month. This is good as it shows what happened between these two for the past few weeks as they will face each other later on the show. Should be a great match. Well produced video package here.

Cedric Alexander Vs. Tony Nese was a good match. Both of these men went out there and delivered a good match where they’re looking to climb up the ladder of the cruiserweight division.

Cedric Alexander hit a nice moonsault from the ring apron to the floor on Tony Nese and Tony Nese delivered a nice looking pumphandle powerslam on Cedric Alexander. Good work from both men here.

The ending of the match came when Tony Nese hit a schoolboy on Cedric Alexander while holding the tights to get the pin and win. It’s a cheap tactic, but it gets the job done as Tony Nese gets another win in his record.

After the match, Tony Nese cut a promo on the entrance ramp by telling Cedric Alexander that he showed him the difference between a great athlete and a premier athlete as Cedric Alexander has a better physique than everyone in the WWE Universe. Tony Nese then told Cedric Alexander that as long as he’s here, Cedric Alexander will always be second best.

Tony Nese is making a big statement for himself and it seems like a feud between Cedric Alexander and Tony Nese has developed here which should be a good feud if it does happen. However, I think Cedric Alexander should go after the WWE Cruiserweight Championship after his feud with Noam Dar, but Tony Nese is not a bad placeholder until he gets that shot so I’m fine with this.

Good match and good promo from Tony Nese as the potential feud between Cedric Alexander and Tony Nese is heating up.

The backstage segment with The Brian Kendrick and Gentleman Jack Gallagher by Dasha Fuentes was good. Dasha Fuentes showed a recap of what happened last week when Gentleman Jack Gallagher and The Brian Kendrick fought with each other in a no contest with Gentleman Jack Gallagher getting the better of The Brian Kendrick to The Brian Kendrick as responded by saying that footage proved that Gentleman Jack Gallagher is a clown. He then said that he has beaten Gentleman Jack Gallagher and will move on.

As The Brian Kendrick was about to continue, Gentleman Jack Gallagher attacked him from behind and started to beat him down. The Brian Kendrick managed to escape from Gentleman Jack Gallagher as Gentleman Jack Gallagher was pissed.

The Brian Kendrick may be done with Gentleman Jack Gallagher, but Gentleman Jack Gallagher isn’t done with The Brian Kendrick. I expect some kind of big stipulation match between these two if they go at it again and when they do, it will be fun to watch. Good backstage segment here.

We then see TJP backstage getting ready for his match against Rich Swann later on the show. TJP looks focused on Rich Swann, but can he get the job done? We’ll find out soon.

Mark Thomas Vs. Noam Dar was a solid squash match. Before the match started, Noam Dar grabbed a mic and told Mark Thomas that he remembers watching him when he was little and asked him if he’s still chasing the dream as he’s already a WWE superstar at 24 years of age. He then made fun of Mark Thomas in term of his age as he’s going to make a name for himself as they start the match.

Noam Dar showing some arrogance there, but with his age, it’s very reasonable and he did well for himself in this promo. Anyway, back to the match itself.

Mark Thomas did get a little bit of offense in the beginning of the match, but Noam Dar took control and finished Mark Thomas off with a running enzuiguri for the pin and win. A win for Noam Dar as he looks to make a name on his own.

Solid squash match and I’m interested to see what plans Noam Dar will have going on his own.

The promo segment between Akira Tozawa and Neville by Corey Graves was good. Corey Graves was interviewing Akira Tozawa about his momentum heading to Summerslam, but was interrupted by Neville and asked Corey Graves on why he’s interviewing Akira Tozawa and not him. Neville then told Corey Graves that he is the man of the cruiserweight division and Akira Tozawa is no competition for him.

This led to Akira Tozawa throwing the chair out of the ring and taking his jacket and tie off while Neville kept talking until he turned around. Akira Tozawa then told Neville that he has a question for him as Neville made fun of Akira Tozawa’s English. Akira Tozawa then asked Neville on how will he feel when he beats him at Summerslam for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship as it made Neville joked off for a bit before trying to hit Akira Tozawa, but Akira Tozawa hit him a kick.

Neville then went out of the ring after Akira Tozawa tried to hit a diving senton on Neville, but Neville tried to come back in the ring, but ended up getting hit by another kick by Akira Tozawa as Neville retreated while Akira Tozawa raised the WWE Cruiserweight Championship up high.

Akira Tozawa got the better of Neville there, but can he beat Neville at Summerslam for the championship? We’ll find out at Summerslam. Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah!

Good promo segment as I’m looking forward to Neville Vs. Akira Tozawa for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship at Summerslam.

We then see Rich Swann backstage as he’s getting ready for his match against TJP up next. Will Rich Swann beat TJP once again? Let’s find out next.

Rich Swann Vs. TJP was an excellent match. Mark out moment! With tension growing among these two for the past month, it led to another match between the two and they delivered.

Rich Swann did excellent in this match to show that TJP that he is great as him. His cartwheel standing moonsault on TJP was done beautifully and his corkscrew 450 splash was well executed despite missing. Excellent work from Rich Swann here.

TJP did excellent in this match as well to show Rich Swann that he needs to step up his game to be at his level. His electric chair on Rich Swann to the corner looked devastating as it knocked Rich Swann out. Excellent work from TJP here.

The ending of the match came when TJP hit Rich Swann with the Detonation Kick (Fireman’s carry dropped into an overhead kick) for the pin and win. A great win for TJP as he began to gloat to Rich Swann after the match. *Dabs*

Excellent match and I don’t think this feud between Rich Swann and TJP is over.

The backstage segment between Rich Swann and TJP was . Rich Swann was backstage looking down as TJP came up to him and asked if Rich Swann is okay as Rich Swann told him that he didn’t like the way TJP acted after the match. TJP told Rich Swann that he was just joking and he knows who he is. Rich Swann told TJP that he’s starting to know the real TJP as he left with TJP grinning.

It seems that Rich Swann is on to TJP about his attitude and it’s probably going for the worse for Rich Swann later. I’m interested to see what’s next in this feud between these guys. Good backstage segment to close the show.

Overall, good show for the thirty seventh episode of 205 Live. It’s great to see the cruiserweights with more focus and attention here and it’s only going to get better from here. Looking forward to it.
