NXT on August 9, 2017 was a good show that is building up NXT Brooklyn III next week. Let’s break it down:

We start off the show with a segment between Authors of Pain and SAnitY and it was great. Nikki Cross, Alexander Wolfe, and Killian Dain were in the ring as they were waiting for Authors of Pain to come down to the ring.

Authors of Pain and Paul Ellering then showed up as Authors of Pain walked down the ring and then Eric Young attacked Rezar from behind and locked his wrist on the guardrail as SAnitY beat up Akam in the ring as Paul Ellering looked on.

Eric Young then entered the ring as SAnitY hold up Akam as Eric Young hit a running knee to Akam’s face. Killian Dain then hit three running sentons on Akam until Rezar came in with guardrail, but ended up getting beaten down by SAnitY.

Killian Dain then hit a running senton on Rezar while Eric Young and Alexander Wolfe hit a sidewalk slam/springboard neckbreaker combination on Akam. SAnitY then raised the NXT Tag Team Championships up in the air and threw the belts down at Authors of Pain as they left.

SAnitY are looking strong heading into NXT Brooklyn III. Will they be the ones that will take the titles off of Authors of Pain? We’ll find out soon enough.

Great segment as I’m interested to see how the match between Authors of Pain and SAnitY will play out at NXT Brooklyn III.

We then get a recap of what happened last week when Asuka and Ember Moon confronted each other as Ember Moon got the better of Asuka in their confrontation where they will meet each other next week in a contract signing.

I expect when Asuka and Ember Moon come across with each other again, there will be havoc and it will be great. Looking forward to it.

We then get another vignette of Street Profits as they will make debut next. Can’t wait for the debut of Street Profits as I have been waiting for so long. Let’s see how they do.

The backstage segment between The Iconic Duo and Ruby Riot earlier in the show was good. The Iconic Duo were doing their makeup tutorial on camera until Ruby Riot was seen walking in the background. The Iconic Duo then made fun of Ruby Riot and called her a mess as they can’t go on with the video as they turn it off.

It seems like a new feud is coming for Ruby Riot as The Iconic Duo have issues with her look and her style. I guess Ruby Riot’s feud with Nikki Cross is over since a new feud has occur for Ruby Riot in The Iconic Duo. Let’s see how this story plays out. Good backstage segment here.

Street Profits Vs. Metro Brothers was a good tag team squash match. Street Profits have made their NXT debut! Mark out moment! It’s about time that Street Profits made their debut and they did pretty well for themselves in the ring and they have charisma.

Metro Brothers did get a little bit of offense in, but Street Profits got the better of Metro Brothers as Angelo Dawkins hit a pop up spinebuster on JC Metro followed by a frog splash from Montez Ford on JC Metro for the pin and win. A nice debut for Street Profits as they show charisma and their in-ring skills.

Good tag team squash match and I can’t wait to see more of Street Profits in NXT.

We then see footage of a WWE.com exclusive last week when Hideo Itami attacked Aleister Black in the parking lot as wrestlers separated them as it will be Aleister Black Vs. Hideo Itami at NXT Brooklyn III. Should be a great match between the two and I can’t wait to see how well it turns out.

Just a reminder that Bleeding In The Blur by Code Orange is a theme for NXT Brooklyn III and it’s a good song. NXT Brooklyn III is next week and I can’t wait for the show. Should be great.

The promo segment between Drew McIntyre, Bobby Roode, and Roderick Strong by William Regal was great. William Regal was in the ring as he introduced Drew McIntyre and Bobby Roode to the ring.

Bobby Roode told Drew McIntyre that the security he brought in was to protect everyone from Roderick Strong as he’s going after him as of late. He then told Drew McIntyre that he would hate for the match between him and Drew McIntyre being put in jeopardy so the security is here to protect him.

Bobby Roode then welcome Drew McIntyre back to WWE as Drew McIntyre said that he felt entitled and he agrees because Bobby Roode doesn’t need second chances. He said that he would become the face of NXT and he has done everything that he would say he do because NXT is his and not Drew McIntyre’s or the NXT Universe’s NXT.

Drew McIntyre then said that there’s a problem with Bobby Roode’s NXT and that is him. He then questioned Bobby Roode about what he said as he plans to beat Bobby Roode for the NXT Championship at NXT Brooklyn III.

Roderick Strong then came out from the entrance ramp and told William Regal that he could do whatever he wants because he wants Bobby Roode. He then said it’s not about the NXT Championship as Bobby Roode disrespected his family and who he is and he couldn’t stand for it anymore where he wants a match with Bobby Roode.

William Regal then tried to reason with Roderick Strong, but Roderick Strong interrupted him and Bobby Roode yelled at Roderick Strong to shut up. Bobby Roode then took his jacket and said that he’ll fight Roderick Strong any time of the week as he’ll even put the NXT Championship on the line. He then said that Roderick Strong can fight him, but he has to go through Drew McIntyre first.

Bobby Roode then booked a match between Drew McIntyre and Roderick Strong where the winner will face him at NXT Brooklyn III. William Regal then told Bobby Roode that he is the one who make the matches in NXT while Drew McIntyre told William Regal that he doesn’t care and wants the match so he can beat Roderick Strong next week and beat Bobby Roode for the NXT Championship at NXT Brooklyn III.

Bobby Roode then told William Regal that everyone wants the match including the NXT Universe as William Regal agreed to it, but on one condition, if Roderick Strong beats Drew McIntyre next week, Roderick Strong will get his title shot after NXT Brooklyn III. Bobby Roode then said that NXT is his and will always be glorious as he tried to shake hands with Drew McIntyre, but ended not doing so and left.

So we’re going to get a match between Drew McIntyre Vs. Roderick Strong next week where if Roderick Strong wins, he gets another shot at the NXT Championship. Should be a great match and a nice set up and build up for the NXT Championship at NXT Brooklyn III. Should be fun to watch. Glorious!

Great promo segment as I’m looking forward to Drew McIntyre Vs. Roderick Strong next week.

Just a reminder that Poison Pens by Creeper is a theme for NXT Brooklyn III and it’s a good song. NXT Brooklyn III is next week and I can’t wait for the show. Should be great.

The backstage interview with Johnny Gargano by Kayla Braxton was good. Johnny Gargano talked about how he was nervous when he made his in-ring return as he was by himself. He then remembered NXT Brooklyn II and how great of a moment it was for him and Tommaso Ciampa as it led to many great things and he wants that feeling again by having a match at NXT Brooklyn III.

Johnny Gargano seems to be motivated again and he wants a match at NXT Brooklyn III. I wonder who he will face at NXT Brooklyn III, we’ll find out soon enough. Good backstage interview here.

Oney Lorcan Vs. Danny Burch was an excellent match. Mark out moment! The last time these two went at it, it was great, but they took it to a whole another level here and it was fun to watch.

Oney Lorcan did excellent in this match as he tried to get another win over Danny Burch. His European Uppercuts on Oney Lorcan looked lethal and his strikes were vicious. His running blockbuster on Danny Burch was well executed. Excellent work from Oney Lorcan here.

Danny Burch did excellent in this match as well as he tried to get a win over Oney Lorcan. His German suplex followed by a clothesline on Oney Lorcan was a nice combination and his springboard rope hung cutter on Oney Lorcan was well executed. Excellent work from Danny Burch here.

The ending of the match came when Oney Lorcan locked Danny Burch in a Boston Crab, but Danny Burch countered Oney Lorcan will a roll up for the pin and win. A nice win for Danny Burch as this is his first win in NXT so congratulations to Danny Burch for getting his win in NXT.

After the match, Danny Burch offered his hand towards Oney Lorcan, but Oney Lorcan slapped it and was about to leave the ring. He then stopped and properly shook hands with Danny Burch as Danny Burch opened the ropes for Oney Lorcan to leave as he did.

Nice show of sportsmanship there and I would love to see these two go at it one more time as these two have great chemistry. Hope this match again down the line.

Excellent match and I hope to see another match between Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch in the future.

We then get an announcement that next week, it will be Drew McIntyre Vs. Roderick Strong where if Roderick Strong wins, he’ll get a NXT Championship match after NXT Brooklyn III. It’s been made official and I can’t wait for the match. It should be great.

No Way Jose Vs. Andrade “Cien” Almas was a good match. They showed a recap of what happened last month when Andrade “Cien” Almas beat up Cezar Bononi and called out No Way Jose which led to this match. No Way Jose had a nice entrance with him doing a conga line with the crowd so that’s cool.

No Way Jose hit a nice flapjack on Andrade “Cien” Almas while Andrade “Cien” Almas was showing a new form of aggression due to the influence of Zelina Vega as he hit a devastating double knees to the corner on No Way Jose. Good work from both men here.

The ending of the match came when Andrade “Cien” Almas hit the Hammerlock DDT on No Way Jose for the pin and win. Andrade “Cien” Almas got his win after a losing streak as of late thanks to the influence of Zelina Vega.

After the match, Zelina Vega went over to the commentary table and grabbed a microphone as she asked if everyone saw what Andrade “Cien” Almas did as he deserves the spotlight. She then said that if Johnny Gargano is still looking for an opponent for NXT Brooklyn III, he got one with Andrade “Cien” Almas.

So we’re going to get a match between Johnny Gargano and Andrade “Cien” Almas at NXT Brooklyn III, it should be a great match, but only one of them has to win and one of them has to lose. Which guy needs the win more? Either way, should be a fun one. Tranquilo!

Good match and the match between Johnny Gargano and Andrade “Cien” Almas at NXT Brooklyn III should be great.

Overall, good show that is building up NXT Brooklyn III next week. Next week, we are going to have Drew McIntyre Vs. Roderick Strong which should be interesting to see. Looking forward to it. NXT! NXT! NXT!
