205 Live on August 22, 2017 was a good show. 205 Live is a show where the cruiserweights take center stage as they will risk their bodies to entertain us wrestling fans. Let’s break it down:

We start off the show with a video package highlighting what happened on Summerslam when Neville beat Akira Tozawa for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. This is good as it shows what happened on Summerslam as it will be Neville Vs. Akira Tozawa for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship later on the show. Well produced video package here.

Cedric Alexander & Gran Metalik Vs. Tony Nese & Drew Gulak was a good tag team match. After Drew Gulak made his entrance, he introduced Tony Nese as he made his entrance. Tony Nese then cut a promo on the WWE Universe as he said that the people in Brooklyn don’t work out in the gym as no one in Brooklyn looks like him. He then said that he is what a premier athlete should look like. Nice to see Tony Nese getting more mic time and showing his character. Anyway, let’s talk about the match itself.

Tony Nese and Drew Gulak did well for isolating Gran Metalik and Gran Metalik hit a beautiful springboard moonsault on Tony Nese to the outside. The stereo somersault dives from Cedric Alexander and Gran Metalik was cool to see. Good work from both teams here.

The ending of the match came when Cedric Alexander hit a Lumbar Check (Belly-to-back suplex into a double knee backbreaker) on Drew Gulak for the pin and win. Two weeks in a row, Cedric Alexander and Gran Metalik got the better of Tony Nese and Drew Gulak. Don’t know if the feud between Cedric Alexander and Tony Nese will continue after this, but we’ll see.

Good tag team match and I want to see if the feud between Cedric Alexander and Tony Nese will continue or not.

The backstage segment between Titus O’Neil and Akira Tozawa was good. Titus O’Neil was talking to Akira Tozawa that he thinks that Akira Tozawa is rushing to get his championship rematch as he felt like they should have more time to get ready for the match. Akira Tozawa then told Titus O’Neil that he’s fine and looks to get back the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. Titus O’Neil then motivated Akira Tozawa as he gets ready for his championship rematch.

Akira Tozawa is ready for his rematch against Neville for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. Will he able to regain the championship? We’ll find out later on the show. Good backstage segment here.

The segment between Gentleman Jack Gallagher and The Brian Kendrick was good. We saw a recap of what happened last week when Gentleman Jack Gallagher attacked The Brian Kendrick during his match against Mustafa Ali as The Brian Kendrick retreated. Gentleman Jack Gallagher cut a promo by saying that he and The Brian Kendrick weren’t being gentlemen as of late as it led to this duel between him and The Brian Kendrick. Gentleman Jack Gallagher then said that he may have been too much of a gentleman as of late and he has to be a fighter so he wants this duel with The Brian Kendrick.

As Gentleman Jack Gallagher was continuing to speak, he heard The Brian Kendrick from the titantron as he told him that Gentleman Jack Gallagher is still a clown no matter what he does. He then said that he won’t duel with Gentleman Jack Gallagher because he’s a fighter as he send a clown to Gentleman Jack Gallagher to duel for him. The clown made fun of Gentleman Jack Gallagher by squirting water at him and slapping him in the face with his glove. Gentleman Jack Gallagher then hit a headbutt on the clown and started beating him down. He then removed all of the weapons on the table as he was about to put the clown through a table.

Before he could do it though, The Brian Kendrick came in and attacked Gentleman Jack Gallagher from behind with an umbrella. He then powerbomb Gentleman Jack Gallagher through a table as he grabbed a mic afterward and told Gentleman Jack Gallagher that he wants a match with him next week in a no disqualification match.

It seems like those two will face each other next week in a no disqualification match. Should be a fun match and I expect those two to hurt each other till one man can’t stand any longer. He’s a man with a plan!

Good segment as I’m looking forward to Gentleman Jack Gallagher Vs. The Brian Kendrick in a no disqualification match next week.

We then get a recap of what happened last week when TJP distracted Rich Swann which led to Ariya Daivari getting the victory over him. This is good as it shows what happened last week and it leads up to the next segment which I will talk about next.

The backstage segment between TJP and Rich Swann was good. TJP was playing a video game backstage until Rich Swann came in and asked him about his condition as TJP told Rich Swann that he injured his knee when he beat him the week before. TJP then told Rich Swann that he was letting Rich Swann know about his condition and didn’t mean to cost Rich Swann the match last week. Rich Swann then said that TJP is playing with him as TJP told him that he understands what he’s feeling, but he should focus on winning again. Rich Swann then agreed with TJP as he told TJP to recover so he can beat him again as he left.

It seems like this feud between Rich Swann and TJP is about to heat up so I’m looking forward to their next encounter once TJP recovers from injury. Good backstage segment here.

We then see Neville backstage as he is heading towards the ring for his championship match. Neville looks ready to go, but will he be able to retain his WWE Cruiserweight Championship against Akira Tozawa? We’ll find out next.

It was announced that next week, it will be Gentleman Jack Gallagher Vs. The Brian Kendrick in a No Disqualification match! Mark out moment! They mentioned it earlier in the show and now it’s official. I expect these two to destroy each other next week which should be great.

Neville Vs. Akira Tozawa for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship was an excellent match. Mark out moment! These two have pretty great chemistry with each other and they deliver another excellent match.

Akira Tozawa did excellent in this match as he tried to regain the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. The way Akira Tozawa hit the ropes to make Neville lose his balance was wise on Akira Tozawa’s part. His suicide dive and corkscrew roundhouse kick on Neville were beautifully executed. Excellent work from Akira Tozawa here.

Neville did excellent in this match as well as he tried to retain the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. His moonsault to the outside on Akira Tozawa was executed perfectly and the way he threw Akira Tozawa to the barricade looked devastating. Not only that, the way he worked on Akira Tozawa’s shoulder was excellent in-ring psychology. Excellent work from Neville here.

The ending of the match came when Neville locked in the scissored armbar/crossface combination on Akira Tozawa for the pin and win. A great win for Neville as he remains WWE Cruiserweight Champion. With Akira Tozawa out of the way, who is next in line for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship? I guess we’ll find out soon enough. Bow to the king!

After the match, Neville cut a promo saying that the championship reign from Akira Tozawa was pathetic as it only lasted six days for him. He then said that his name will still be in the history books as he is still the WWE Cruiserweight Champion and he will be the greatest WWE Cruiserweight Champion of all time.

As he was about to continue, Enzo Amore interrupted him and did his usual shtick before entering the ring! Mark out moment! Okay, I did not expect Enzo Amore to appear on 205 Live so that was a shocker to me. He then told Neville that 205 Live is now the realest show in the room as he dropped his mic as Neville left while laughing.

I guess Enzo Amore is officially a part of the cruiserweight division. A feud between Neville and Enzo Amore for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship is quite interesting, but I feel like Cedric Alexander should be the next in line for the championship, that’s just me though. At least the promos will be good so we’ll see how this feud goes. How you doin’?!

Excellent match and great post-match as a feud between Neville and Enzo Amore for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship is quite intriguing.

Overall, good show for the thirty ninth episode of 205 Live. It’s great to see the cruiserweights with more focus and attention here and it’s only going to get better from here. Looking forward to it.
