205 Live on September 19, 2017 was a good show. 205 Live is a show where the cruiserweights take center stage as they will risk their bodies to entertain us wrestling fans. Let’s break it down:
We start off the show with a video package highlighting the feud between Neville and Enzo Amore for the past month as they will face each other for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship at No Mercy. This is good as it shows what happened in the past month as they will face each other at No Mercy. Well produced video package here.
Cedric Alexander Vs. The Brian Kendrick was a good match. We get a recap of what happened last week when Cedric Alexander was attacked by Gentleman Jack Gallagher instead of The Brian Kendrick when they had their match. This made sense as their match last week never had a finish due to the interference of Gentleman Jack Gallagher so let’s see how it will play out here.
Cedric Alexander’s suicide dive through the bottom rope on The Brian Kendrick was beautifully executed. The Brian Kendrick hit a devastating Japanese armdrag to Cedric Alexander to the corner as it knocked out Cedric Alexander out cold for a minute there. Good work from both men here.
The ending of the match came when The Brian Kendrick rolled up Cedric Alexander, but Cedric Alexander countered it with his own pin and pin The Brian Kendrick for the win. A nice win for Cedric Alexander as he managed to get a victory over The Brian Kendrick.
After the match, The Brian Kendrick confronted Cedric Alexander which led to Gentleman Jack Gallagher attacking Cedric Alexander from behind as The Brian Kendrick and Gentleman Jack Gallagher began to double team on Cedric Alexander. The Brian Kendrick was holding Cedric Alexander up for Gentleman Jack Gallagher so he can hit a kick to the gut followed by two headbutts to knocked out Cedric Alexander as both men retreated and head to the back.
Gentleman Jack Gallagher showing once again his new side as his alliance with The Brian Kendrick continues. I’m still waiting to get the explanation from Gentleman Jack Gallagher on why he aligned himself with The Brian Kendrick, but we’ll have to wait and see.
Good match and good post-match as I’m hoping to get answers from Gentleman Jack Gallagher soon.
The backstage interview with Gentleman Jack Gallagher and The Brian Kendrick by Dasha Fuentes was good. Gentleman Jack Gallagher and The Brian Kendrick were walking backstage until Dasha Fuentes showed up and interviewed Gentleman Jack Gallagher on why he sided with The Brian Kendrick. Gentleman Jack Gallagher responded by saying that the WWE Universe doesn’t deserve an answer because they didn’t go through what he went through. Despite that, he is glad what The Brian Kendrick did to him as he can be nice while still getting wins, but not as a joke as he and The Brian Kendrick left.
So it seems like we got a reason on why Gentleman Jack Gallagher joined The Brian Kendrick. However, is it the right decision for Gentleman Jack Gallagher to align with The Brian Kendrick? Only time will tell. Good backstage interview here.
The promo segment with Drew Gulak was great. We get a recap of what happened last week when Drew Gulak went over his PowerPoint presentation, but was arrested by Breezango. This is good as it shows what happened last week and it was a great segment so check it out when you have the chance. Drew Gulak went to the commentary table and grabbed a mic as he talked about what happened last week and what Breezango did to him was an injustice. He said that he felt uncomfortable when he was in jail from Breezango and they will be hearing him as he’s an attorney.
He then talked about how Galileo’s idea about the earth revolving around the sun was turned down and if Galileo was alive today, he wouldn’t like Akira Tozawa as it would revolve his chants. He then said that Galileo succeeded and became a hero where he doesn’t consider himself a hero, but he will because of what he does. He then said that Galileo would think that Drew Gulak is a future WWE Hall of Famer as he continued to do his PowerPoint presentation.
His sixth slide talked about how there should be no cell phones in the arena. He said that Galileo didn’t use a cell phone during his time as he was focused on his studies as the WWE Universe should learn from him so they can learn without being distracted by their cell phones. Before Drew Gulak could continue, he was interrupted by Akira Tozawa as his match came next.
Man, I was getting into Drew Gulak’s PowerPoint Presentation as he’s becoming a highlight for me for 205 Live. Dang you Akira Tozawa, I hope you lose. In all seriousness, this will probably continue the feud between Akira Tozawa and Drew Gulak which I’m fine with. However, I want more of Drew Gulak’s PowerPoint Presentation dang it! Anyway, let’s talk about the match.
Akira Tozawa Vs. Noam Dar was a good match. Drew Gulak was on commentary for this match as he has an eye out for Akira Tozawa.
Noam Dar was working on the leg of Akira Tozawa’s throughout the match which was good in-ring psychology while Akira Tozawa had the fighting spirit to try to overcome the odds from Noam Dar. Good work from both men here.
The ending of the match came when Akira Tozawa hit a diving senton on Noam Dar for the pin and win. A good win for Akira Tozawa as he did the Ah chants towards Drew Gulak after the match as the feud between the two continues on. Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah!
Good match and I’m intrigued on what’s next in this feud between Akira Tozawa and Drew Gulak.
We then get a recap of what happened last week when Rich Swann beat TJP. This is good as it shows what happened last week and it ties into the next segment which I will talk about next.
The backstage segment between Rich Swann and TJP was good. Rich Swann was warming up backstage until TJP came in and told Rich Swann that he wanted to congratulate him the right way as he hasn’t been respectful to him as of late. Rich Swann then accepted TJP’s apology as TJP wants them to be tag team partners, but Rich Swann said he has to focus on Lince Dorado. TJP then said that he wants one more match with him, but Rich Swann said that he will leave it as it is as they shook hands with Rich Swann leaving while TJP looked displeased.
It seems like TJP isn’t happy that he lost to Rich Swann in the series against him. I wonder how TJP will find a way to get back at Rich Swann. I guess we’ll soon find out. Good backstage segment here.
Rich Swann Vs. Lince Dorado never really happened as we went to the backstage area as Lince Dorado was taken out backstage as the referees checked on him. This led to Rich Swann leaving the ring to see what happened to Lince Dorado.
As Rich Swann head up to the ramp, he got hit by a superkick from TJP as he beat him down and pulled out one of his hair strings. TJP then kicked Rich Swann in the guts as he laughed while holding the hair string that he pulled out. He then lifted Rich Swann and threw him on top of the barricade to knock Rich Swann as TJP left.
Well, that friendship ended as I kind of expected this to happen, but I didn’t expect to take this long. TJP is probably better off as a heel and I have a feeling that this feud between them is going to enter another gear so I’m ready for this. *Dabs*
Great segment as I’m interested to see what happens next in this Rich Swann and TJP feud.
The promo segment between Neville and Enzo Amore was excellent. Mark out moment! Neville came out to the ring and talked about how No Mercy is coming with Brock Lesnar Vs. Braun Strowman, John Cena Vs. Roman Reigns, and of course Neville Vs. Enzo Amore as he thinks Enzo Amore is a joke. Neville then said that he will expose Enzo Amore in the ring and show him that he is not at his level.
As Neville was about to continue, he was interrupted by Enzo Amore as he did his usual shtick. Neville then told Enzo Amore that he should have stayed at home after getting beaten up by Braun Strowman as he apparently can still dance well and can still do his catchphrase. Enzo Amore then told Neville that he is jealous of him ever since he became a part of the cruiserweight division as he’s been getting all of the attention and he’s not.
Neville then responded by saying that he isn’t jealous of him as he’s already better than Enzo Amore at every point possible. Enzo Amore then said to Neville that he is not the same level as him, but that is why he is jealous of him because he would be jealous of himself as he is a bigger star compared to him as he’s on big segments, commercials, can sell merchandise, and every time he comes out to the ring, he gets a reaction and the crowd gets involved which is something that Neville can’t do. He then said to Neville that people can love him or hate him, but people know who he is and Neville has been a big fish in a small pond, but once Enzo Amore came in, he became envy of him because he knows that he’s a threat because he’s a shark in his pond.
Neville then said that he was supposed to make this quick, but he decided to make an example out of him because he doesn’t care about what Enzo Amore has because he’s going to humiliate him at No Mercy. Neville told Enzo Amore that his cheap tactics won’t work on him because he won’t survive against him at No Mercy. Enzo Amore told Neville that he was right about using cheap tactics to win a championship, but it’s not No Mercy as he kicked Neville in the nuts as he left with Neville staring at him from the ring.
I’ll admit, even though I didn’t like what Enzo Amore said to Neville, he has a point. He’s the only cruiserweight that managed to go up against the main eventers and big players in WWE. So I can’t really argue against Enzo Amore there. However, I don’t think he has a chance against Neville unless Enzo Amore can find a way to beat him without using dirty tactics. It seems like Enzo Amore is turning heel in some capacity as the crowd was booing him a bit when he did the low blow. We’ll see what happens at No Mercy. How you doin’?!
Excellent promo segment and I want to see how the WWE Cruiserweight Championship match between Neville and Enzo Amore will play out at No Mercy.
Overall, good show for the forty-third episode of 205 Live. It’s great to see the cruiserweights with more focus and attention here and it’s only going to get better from here. Looking forward to it.
