205 Live 9/26/17 Review: You Deserve It, Not!

205 Live on September 26, 2017 was a good show. 205 Live is a show where the cruiserweights take center stage as they will risk their bodies to entertain us wrestling fans. Let’s break it down:

We start off the show with a video package showing what happened on Monday Night Raw where Enzo Amore made fun of the cruiserweight division and Neville fought back against Enzo Amore. This is good as it shows what happened on Monday Night Raw for those who have missed it or forgot about it. Well produced video package here.

Before I continue, the commentary team for this show consisted of Vic Joseph and Byron Saxton! Mark out moment for Byron Saxton for being a part of 205 Live! Now, I don’t know if he’s replacing Nigel McGuinness for this one night as I think Nigel McGuinness is a better commentator than Byron Saxton is pretty good as well when he can just call the action without Vince McMahon in his ear. We’ll have to wait and see though. They have pretty good chemistry here so I’m fine with the commentary for this show.

The promo segment from Enzo Amore was great. Enzo Amore did his usual shtick before entering the ring as he was using a crutch after what happened on Monday Night Raw when he got destroyed by Neville. Enzo Amore talked about how he got demolished on Monday Night Raw and how he’s hiding that like how Cedric Alexander is hiding his charisma. He then talked about how despite being beaten up, he is a star inside and outside of the ring and he’s the reason why 205 Live is currently on the map. He then talked about how he’s the reason why people tune in to 205 Live and why he is the WWE Cruiserweight Champion as he put his crutch down.

He then said that he felt sorry for Neville because he has to look at himself every day in the mirror and Enzo Amore thinks that Neville is ugly. He then said that the reason why he looked like the way he did is not that of Neville, but because of Braun Strowman as Braun Strowman and the entire cruiserweight division attacked him. The crowd then chanted, “You deserved it”, but Enzo Amore interpreted that as he deserves to be WWE Cruiserweight Champion as he had his mother watching him from the crowd as she was crying as she had to see her son get beaten up miserably. He then talked about how his no-contact clause where if anyone touched him, they won’t get an opportunity at the WWE Cruiserweight Championship as long as he’s champion.

He then said that since everyone in the cruiserweight division attacked him, they won’t get any title shot. He then said that Neville will never get his WWE Cruiserweight Championship back because he’s S-A-W-F-T, SAWFT!

Even though I’m not a fan of Enzo Amore as WWE Cruiserweight Champion, I can’t deny what he said is true because the cruiserweight division is getting more attention because of him and this really made Enzo Amore as an unlikeable guy. Now granted, this is probably WWE trying to ruin Enzo Amore in public because the people in the back doesn’t like him. However, I can’t deny that it’s getting himself heat and it makes people want to punch him in the face like I do so he’s doing his job well here even if it was WWE’s attention. I wonder who will face Enzo Amore for the championship if Neville can’t face him for the belt. S-A-W-F-T, SAWFT!

Great promo segment and I want to see who will face Enzo Amore for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship down the line.

Akira Tozawa Vs. Tony Nese was a good match. Drew Gulak was on commentary for this match as he had an eye on Akira Tozawa once again.

Tony Nese hit a devastating delayed vertical suplex on Akira Tozawa on the ropes that made Akira Tozawa unconscious for a little while. Akira Tozawa hit a beautiful suicide dive on Tony Nese to the outside. Good work from both men here.

The ending of the match came when Akira Tozawa hit a diving senton on Tony Nese for the pin and win. A good win for Akira Tozawa as he’s looking to climb back up the ladder of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship picture.

After the match, Akira Tozawa was doing his chants towards Drew Gulak which led to Drew Gulak blowing his mega horn as he was cutting a promo towards Akira Tozawa. He told Akira Tozawa that he has violated his third rule of trying to make a better 205 Live due to his chants. He then spoke to Akira Tozawa in Japanese to make sure that he follows his rules for a better 205 Live.

He then continued his PowerPoint Presentation by showing the seventh slide which is no celebrating. He then said that he had a dream that ground-based wrestlers such as himself should co-exist and shake hands with no celebrating after the match. He then said that Akira Tozawa’s chants are making the WWE Universe into mindless sheep and that the crowd should just be making sheep noises which led to Akira Tozawa hitting Drew Gulak with a corkscrew roundhouse kick on Drew Gulak as he rolled out of the ring with Akira Tozawa standing tall.

God dang it Akira Tozawa, I wanted to see more of Drew Gulak’s PowerPoint Presentation, how dare you! However, this is continuing the feud between Akira Tozawa and Drew Gulak and I can’t wait to see what happens next between these two. Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah!

Good match and great post-match as I’m interested to see what’s next in this feud between Akira Tozawa and Drew Gulak.

The backstage segment between Enzo Amore and Ariya Daivari was good. Enzo Amore was talking to his WWE Cruiserweight Championship backstage until he bumped into Ariya Daivari. Enzo Amore was about to prepare for an attack from Ariya Daivari, but Ariya Daivari told Enzo Amore that he wasn’t going to attack him because he feels sorry for him and apologized to him.

Enzo Amore didn’t accept the apology, but Ariya Daivari told Enzo Amore that what he did at No Mercy was amazing as he is amazing which Enzo Amore liked what he said. Enzo Amore once again didn’t fell for what Ariya Daivari is telling him as Ariya Daivari told Enzo Amore that what happened on Monday Night Raw was all due to Neville. Enzo Amore then nodded his head in agreement as Ariya Daivari said that he wants to be his friend as he knows that Enzo Amore is a star. Ariya Daivari then wanted Enzo Amore to watch him as Enzo Amore agreed to Ariya Daivari as he will be in his corner where they shook hands with Ariya Daivari doing Enzo Amore’s catchphrase which Enzo Amore didn’t like as he left as he will be by Ariya Daivari’s side later.

It seems like we got an alliance between Enzo Amore and Ariya Daivari for one night. Don’t know how long this partnership will last, but Enzo Amore got himself an ally. We’ll see what happens later on the show. Good backstage segment here.

Lince Dorado Vs. TJP never happened after what happened before the match started. As TJP was making his entrance, we got a recap of what happened last week when Rich Swann told TJP that the matches between them are over which led to TJP attacking Rich Swann and cutting a piece of his hair. We also got a video promo from TJP as he said that if the friendship with him and Rich Swann continued, they couldn’t have another match which led him to decide to end that friendship as he thanked Rich Swann for that advice. This really showed the true colors of TJP here so it’s nice to see that.

As Lince Dorado was making his entrance, Rich Swann came in and attacked TJP which eventually led to TJP retreating from Rich Swann as he headed towards the crowd as Rich Swann watched on from the ring.

I like how the moment Rich Swann sees TJP in the ring, he immediately went after him no matter what showing the hatred that he has for TJP after everything he has done to him last week. This feud is finally picking up and I can’t wait to see these two locked horns once again when it happens.

Great segment as I can’t wait to see what happens next in this feud between Rich Swann and TJP.

We then get a recap of what happened last week when Cedric Alexander defeated The Brian Kendrick which led to The Brian Kendrick and Gentleman Jack Gallagher beating down Cedric Alexander after the match where it will be Cedric Alexander Vs. Gentleman Jack Gallagher next week. It should be a great match between the two and I’m looking forward to that.

The backstage promo from Gentleman Jack Gallagher and The Brian Kendrick was good. The Brian Kendrick talked about how he and Gentleman Jack Gallagher can get along despite going against each other the past few months where Gentleman Jack Gallagher said that he’s aligned with The Brian Kendrick to make himself a better person and he will do that against Cedric Alexander next week.

Even though I’m not sure that Gentleman Jack Gallagher should turn heel, at least he’s making the best out of it and his new character is quite intriguing. Interested to see where this goes. Good backstage promo here.

Neville Vs. Ariya Daivari was a great match. After Neville made his entrance to the ring, he cut a promo saying that people think that he has fallen after his loss to Enzo Amore for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship, but he told the WWE Universe that what he did on Monday Night Raw was the best thing he did. He then said that he knew that he won’t get another shot at the WWE Cruiserweight Championship because he attacked Enzo Amore, but he doesn’t care because he would love to do it again. He then said that Enzo Amore better be aware of him because he’s coming for him as he will make sure that Enzo Amore is no longer a part of 205 Live.

Neville is looking to make a statement towards Enzo Amore and I would love to see Neville beat down on Enzo Amore which would be fun to watch. Enzo Amore was at ringside to support Ariya Daivari.

Ariya Daivari hit a nice inverted DDT on Neville from the second rope while Neville had some vicious stomps to Ariya Daivari in the corner while also keeping an eye on Enzo Amore for everything he has done to him. Great work from both men here.

The ending of the match came when Neville locked in the crossface/scissored armbar combination on Ariya Daivari to make him tap out for the win. A good win for Neville as he looks to get vengeance on Enzo Amore. Bow down to the king!

After the match, Enzo Amore attacked Neville with his crutch and continued to beat him with his crutch multiple times before dropping down his crutch and beating him down with his fists. He continued the assault until the referees pulled him away as Enzo Amore left while making fun of Neville.

It looks like Enzo Amore is officially a heel now as he just brutally assault Neville there and it seems like Neville became a face because of that. Whether you like or hate Enzo Amore, he’s getting heat and that’s not S-A-W-F-T, SAWFT!

Great match and great post-match as I’m interested to see how Neville will get his revenge on Enzo Amore.

Overall, good show for the forty-fourth episode of 205 Live. It’s great to see the cruiserweights with more focus and attention here and it’s only going to get better from here. Looking forward to it.
