Ultima Lucha Tres 9/27/17 Review: Hell of War

Published

on

Ultima Lucha Tres on September 27, 2017 was a great show that had an excellent match and great moments throughout the show as the third season of Lucha Underground is coming to an end. Let’s break it down:

We start off the show with a recap of what happened between Killshot, Dante Fox, Texano, and Famous B earlier in the season of Lucha Underground Season 3. This is a good way to remind people about what happened during that time in case they missed it or forgot about it as this week, the people from the recap appeared on the show. Well done and well produced.

Texano Vs. Famous B was good. If Famous B wins this match, he would have Texano’s contract and Texano would be a part of Infamous Inc. After Melissa Santos did the introductions, Famous B got on the mic and told Texano that he can’t beat him with his broken arm so he talked with Dario Cueto and he said that he can have a partner to make this a real handicap match. He then announced that his partner is none other than Dr. Wagner Jr.

Dr. Wagner Jr. has made his return to Lucha Underground! Mark out moment! Man, we haven’t seen Dr. Wagner Jr. since Ultima Lucha Dos so seeing him here was a nice treat. Let’s see if Texano can beat both Famous B and Dr. Wagner Jr. here. Let’s talk about it right now.

Dr. Wagner Jr. got some nice offense on Texano while Texano really took Dr. Wagner Jr. and Famous B to school with his performance here. The way he tossed Famous B from the stairs to the floor looked painful as heck. Good performances by all three men here.

The ending of the match came when Texano hit a sitout powerbomb on Dr. Wagner Jr., but Dr. Wagner Jr. wasn’t the legal man as it was Famous B. Texano then tried to hit Famous B with a sitout powerbomb, but Beautiful Brenda distracted Texano by giving him a kiss which led to Famous B rolling up Texano with a schoolboy with his feet on the ropes for the pin and win. Wow, I didn’t see expect Famous B and Dr. Wagner Jr. to win this match, but they did and now Texano is Famous B’s client. I’m interested to see where this goes from here. Call 423-GET-FAME so you can be famous!

Good handicap match and I can’t wait to see how Texano will deal being in Famous B’s Infamous Inc.

We then get the rest of the card from Matt Striker and Vampiro as they announced the matches for the upcoming weeks which includes Son of Havoc Vs. Pentagon Dark in a ladder match for the Gift of the Gods Championship, Dragon Azteca Jr. Vs. Matanza in a steel cage match, Sexy Star Vs. Taya in a Last Luchadora Standing match, Cage Vs. Jeremiah Crane Vs. Mil Muertes in a three-way match for The Gauntlet of the Gods, Johnny Mundo Vs. Prince Puma for the Lucha Underground Championship in a Career Vs. Title match. They then announced that next week for Ultima Lucha Tres, it will be Ivelisse Vs. Catrina, A Unique Opportunity Battle Royal, and Fenix Vs. Marty “The Moth” Martinez in a Mask Vs. Hair match. That continues to look like an amazing card for Ultima Lucha Tres. Can’t wait for more.

Killshot Vs. Dante Fox in a Hell of War match was excellent. Mark out moment! Wow, just wow. These two men went out there and delivered an incredible Hell of War match where I questioned if either man could be the same after this. A Hell of War match is basically 3 Stages of Hell with a different name and the following matches in this Hell of War include a First Blood Match, No Disqualification Match, and a Medical Evac match which is an Ambulance match. Going to talk about this match in three parts so let’s do this!

The First Blood match between Killshot and Dante Fox was excellent as these two were desperate to hurt each other in this match and they certainly did.

Killshot did excellent in this first match as well as he tried to get revenge on Dante Fox for turning on him when Dante Fox came to the temple. His uranage on Dante Fox looked painful as heck.

Dante Fox did excellent in this first match as he tried to get revenge on Killshot for leaving him dead. His step-up moonsault from the top rope onto Killshot from the ladder match looked devastating. His springboard moonsault side slam on Killshot was well executed.

There was a spot in the match where Dante Fox went on top of the bleachers and hit a leg drop on the top of the bleachers onto Killshot with a chair on top and on bottom of him on the ring apron! Mark out moment! That spot was very cool. Very reminisce of Rob Van Dam in his ECW days. That’s awesome. Excellent work from both men here.

The first match came to an end when Dante Fox hit a back body drop on Killshot on the top rope as he landed through the glass on top of two chairs and bled for the first win! Mark out moment! Dang, I did not expect Killshot to do something like that. That has to hurt. He didn’t have to do it, but he did it. Props to Killshot for doing this as it made this blood heated rivalry between these two very personal.

The No Disqualification match between Killshot and Dante Fox was also excellent as they continued the momentum where they left off with the First Blood match.

Dante Fox did excellent in this second match as he tried to finish Killshot once and for all. His moonsault side slam on Killshot on top of the chair looked painful as heck. His 450 splash on Killshot who was on top of the ladder looked painful as heck as well.

Killshot did excellent in this match as well as he tried to get a win over Dante Fox to settle the score for the possible third match. His jumping DDT on Dante Fox when Dante Fox was stuck on the second rope looked devastating. His diving foot stomp on Dante Fox on the glass has to hurt Dante Foz a lot. My goodness.

There was a spot in the match that looked extremely painful where Killshot hit a powerbomb on Dante Fox through the barbed wire board! Mark out moment! Oh my god, that has to be killing the back of Dante Fox. God bless him for taking that. Excellent work from both men here.

The second match came to an end when Killshot hit the half back waistlock/half nelson combo lift into a sitout head drop inverted powerbomb on Dante Fox on the glass for the pin and win. Man, that must hurt Dante Fox a lot as he was bleeding from the back tremendously. Props to Dante Fox for doing this even though he didn’t have to. Just unbelievable.

The Medical Evac match between Killshot and Dante Fox was excellent as they continued to fight despite both having backs that are crimson red from the punishment they gave to each other.

Dante Fox did excellent in this match as he tried to once again, finish Killshot once and for all. The way he countered Killshot’s suplex to the outside with his spike DDT on the ring apron was incredible. His somersault dive on Killshot was beautifully executed.

Killshot did excellent in this match as well as he also tried to finish Dante Fox once and for all. His Death Valley Driver on Dante Fox from the top rope to the stretcher was insane! Mark out moment! Dang, that looked painful as heck as it nearly broke the stretcher in half. Not only that Killshot hit a diving double foot stomp on Dante Fox who was on the stretcher from the bleachers! Mark out moment! Dante Fox and the stretcher were kind of broken in half. My god.

There was a spot where Dante Fox was choking on Killshot with a wire cable on top of the stage, but Killshot hit Dante Fox with a glass bottle that made Dante Fox fall from the stage onto glass being set up with a wooden frame and four chairs! Mark out moment! Oh my god, I think Dante Fox is dead from that fall. That was a high fall and he fell through glass too. My goodness, Dante Fox better be okay after that because that could have killed him. My god.

The third and final match came to an end when Killshot picked up the dead body of Dante Fox from that fall from the stage onto the glass and put him in the ambulance to win the match and the Hell of War.

Wow, just wow. These two men went to war here and they certainly did. These two have killed each other from beyond and Killshot was the survivor. I have to show nothing, but respect for these guys as they didn’t have to do these type of spots. However, they did and for that, thank you Killshot and Dante Fox. You guys deserve a long break after that. No questions asked.

Excellent Hell of War match and I want to see how Killshot will go on after this match as well as Dante Fox.

Overall, great show that had an excellent match and great moments throughout the whole show. Now, comparing Ultima Lucha Tres with Ultima Lucha and Ultima Lucha Dos will come once Ultima Lucha Tres is done. Till then, we should enjoy Ultima Lucha Tres for the time being. Next week, part two of Ultima Lucha Tres will begin and I can’t wait! It should be great. If you haven’t already, please check out Lucha Underground. It’s a great alternative to the mainstream wrestling and you won’t be disappointed. Looking forward to next week’s show. Lucha! Lucha! Lucha! Lucha!
