205 Live 10/3/17 Review: A New Side of Cedric Alexander

205 Live on October 3, 2017 was a good show. 205 Live is a show where the cruiserweights take center stage as they will risk their bodies to entertain us wrestling fans. Let’s break it down:

We start off the show with a video package showing what happened on Monday Night Raw where Enzo Amore made fun of the cruiserweight division once again, but the cruiserweights couldn’t hurt him due to his contract clause which led to Kurt Angle coming out and announcing the newest member of the curiserweight division which is Kalisto as he took out Enzo Amore. This is good as it shows what happened on Monday Night Raw for those who have missed it or forgot about it. Well produced video package here.

Kalisto Vs. Ariya Daivari was a good match. Kalisto has made his 205 Live debut! Mark out moment! Before the match, Kalisto cut a promo by saying that he thanked Kurt Angle for making him a part of 205 Live. He then said that he’s happy to be a part of 205 Live as the cruiserweights are the hardest workers in WWE today.

As Kalisto was about to continue, he was interrupted by Enzo Amore who did his usual shtick on the entrance ramp. He then told Kalisto that he’s lucky to be in 205 Live because he said that he doesn’t have what it takes to be in the cruiserweight division as he doesn’t look like a star. He then told Kalisto that despite not looking like a star, he will be a star because of him as he is the reason why people are tuning into 205 Live and the WWE Universe knows it.

As Enzo Amore was about to continue, Kalisto interrupted him by telling him that he talks too much and showed him how he won the WWE Cruiserweight Championship as we got a replay of what happened at No Mercy when Enzo Amore hit a low blow on Neville to win the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. Enzo Amore then told Kalisto that it doesn’t matter how he wins, as long as he wins, he wins. He then questioned why Kurt Angle let Kalisto be on his show because he thinks that Kalisto is trash. He then talked about how Kalisto is talented, but ever since losing the United States Championship, he became a letdown.

Enzo Amore then talked about how all the haters hate him as people think that he is a disgrace to the cruiserweight division which led him to introduce his opponent against Kalisto, Ariya Daivari, as the match soon begin as Enzo Amore was backstage watching the match.

Once again, Enzo Amore talking a lot of trash. Despite not liking what he said, it is true for what he said. However, he is going to get butt kicked when the time comes and I’m pretty sure a lot of people will be happy to see that when it happens. Anyway, let’s talk about the match itself.

Ariya Daivari hit a nice frog splash on Kalisto while Kalisto hit a nice springboard assisted somersault senton dive on Ariya Daivari to the outside. Good work from both men here.

The ending of the match came when Kalisto hit Salida del Sol (Standing sitout shiranui) on Ariya Daivari for the pin and win. A good debut for Kalisto as he’s looking to become WWE Cruiserweight Champion. Lucha! Lucha! Lucha! Lucha!

Good match and I’m interested to see what’s next in this feud between Enzo Amore and Kalisto.

We then get a recap of what happened between Cedric Alexander, The Brian Kendrick, and Gentleman Jack Gallagher for the past few weeks as it will be Cedric Alexander Vs. Gentleman Jack Gallagher later on the show. This is good as it shows what happened between these three for the past few weeks and why they are feuding so that’s great to see. Looking forward to Cedric Alexander Vs. Gentleman Jack Gallagher later on the show.

Mustafa Ali Vs. Drew Gulak was a good match. After Drew Gulak made his entrance, he cut a promo talking about how there has been a lot of change in 205 Live as of late due to Enzo Amore and Kalisto, but he is the man that started it all. He then talked about how Akira Tozawa ruined his ways of trying to make a better 205 Live which made him continued his PowerPoint Presentation as slide 8 said no flipping.

As Drew Gulak was about to show slide 9, he was interrupted by Mustafa Ali as they get ready for their match. God dang it, Mustafa Ali, I wanted to see slide 9! Hopefully, we’ll get it next week. Akira Tozawa then came out as he sat on a chair at the entrance ramp to watch the match.

Drew Gulak hit a devastating knee to Mustafa Ali’s gut when he hung him over the ropes and his snap suplex on Mustafa Ali to the corner looked painful. Mustafa Ali hit a beautiful rolling through the middle ropes into a jumping neckbreaker on Drew Gulak. Good work from both men here.

The ending of the match came when Mustafa Ali hit an inverted 450 splash on Drew Gulak for the pin and win. A good win for Mustafa Ali as he got another victory over Drew Gulak from their past rivalry.

After the match, Akira Tozawa came into the ring and started his chants on Drew Gulak as he left the ring. Added more insult to injury as the feud between Akira Tozawa and Drew Gulak continues on. Let’s see where this goes next. Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah!

Good match and I want to see how Drew Gulak will deal with Akira Tozawa’s chants if he ever sees him again.

We then get an announcement that next week, it will be Rich Swann Vs. TJP. Should be another awesome match between the two. Looking forward to that.

The backstage segment with The Brian Kendrick and Cedric Alexander by Dasha Fuentes was good. Dasha Fuentes was interviewing to The Brian Kendrick about Cedric Alexander as he talked about how Cedric Alexander has been feeling down due to what Gentleman Jack Gallagher has done to him and he felt for Enzo Amore for what he had to go through. He understood Enzo Amore’s pain for being hated and being resented by the WWE locker room as he will support him from then on. He then said that he can’t stand Cedric Alexander because he is what is wrong with today’s generation.

As The Brian Kendrick was about to continue, Cedric Alexander attacked The Brian Kendrick from behind and started attacking his leg before walking away smiling.

Wow, I didn’t expect to see that side of Cedric Alexander there, but he is doing what he can to get revenge for what The Brian Kendrick has done to him for the past few weeks. We’ll see how Cedric Alexander does against Gentleman Jack Gallagher. Good backstage segment here.

Cedric Alexander Vs. Gentleman Jack Gallagher was a great match for what it was. After what happened between these two for the past few weeks, it led to this match. I like how Cedric Alexander wasn’t his normal self during his entrance as he looked focused and wanted to take out Gentleman Jack Gallagher which is nice character development there so I appreciated that.

Gentleman Jack Gallagher was showing his new character by working more of a heel style in this match which is nice to see as it’s showing the new character of Gentleman Jack Gallagher. His boot to Cedric Alexander’s face looked like it hurt a little bit. Cedric Alexander hit a beautiful suicide dive on Gentleman Jack Gallagher to the outside. Great work from both men here.

The ending of the match came when Gentleman Jack Gallagher was about to use the umbrella on Cedric Alexander, but Cedric Alexander had his foot on it which led to Cedric Alexander using the umbrella on Gentleman Jack Gallagher to cause a disqualification. It seemed like Cedric Alexander didn’t care about the match as he was more focused on getting revenge on Gentleman Jack Gallagher and he has done it.

After the match, Cedric Alexander continued to attack Gentleman Jack Gallagher by kicking him out of the ring and continuing to beat down at ringside. Cedric Alexander then threw Gentleman Jack Gallagher over the barricade as Gentleman Jack Gallagher fought back against Cedric Alexander with a headbutt followed by forearm smashes, but Cedric Alexander then threw Gentleman Jack Gallagher over the announce table as Gentleman Jack Gallagher tried to crawl away from Cedric Alexander.

Gentleman Jack Gallagher then rolled back into the ring, but Cedric Alexander hit Gentleman Jack Gallagher with a springboard leg lariat as he rolled out of the ring. This led to The Brian Kendrick coming out as he checked on Gentleman Jack Gallagher while staring at Cedric Alexander who was in the ring.

The Brian Kendrick and Gentleman Jack Gallagher have created a monster out of Cedric Alexander and it’s going to bite them sooner rather than later. We’ll see how The Brian Kendrick and Gentleman Jack Gallagher fight back against this new side of Cedric Alexander.

Great match and great post-match as I want to see how The Brian Kendrick and Gentleman Jack Gallagher fight back against Cedric Alexander.

Overall, good show for the forty-fifth episode of 205 Live. It’s great to see the cruiserweights with more focus and attention here and it’s only going to get better from here. Looking forward to it.
