Ultima Lucha Tres 10/11/17 Review: God on Top of the Ladder

Published

on

Ultima Lucha Tres on October 11, 2017 was a great show that had excellent matches and great moments throughout the show as the third season of Lucha Underground is coming to an end. Let’s break it down:

We start off the show with a recap of what happened between Dante Fox, Killshot, The Mack, Taya, Sexy Star, Son of Havoc, and Pentagon Dark earlier in the season of Lucha Underground Season 3. This is a good way to remind people about what happened during that time in case they missed it or forgot about it as this week, the people from the recap appeared on the show. Well done and well produced.

Sexy Star Vs. Taya in a Last Luchadora Standing match was excellent. Mark out moment! With these two having issues with each other for the past year, they have finally come to blows and this match was a lot of fun to watch as both women brought it here in this match.

Taya did excellent in this match as she tried to humiliate Sexy Star as much as she can. The way she hit a powerbomb on Sexy Star on the barricade looked painful as heck. The strikes between these two with the chops and slaps looked very painful as I felt every time they hit each other with their strikes.

Sexy Star did excellent in this match as well to get revenge for what Taya has done to her for the past year. The way Sexy Star made Taya bled with her trying to rub her head to the steel looked painful as heck and the way she hit Taya with a bottle looked nasty.

The ending of the match came when Sexy Star and Taya were fighting on top of a camera deck and they both fell down from the camera deck through two tables as Sexy Star managed to get up before ten to win the match! Mark out moment! Dang, you don’t expect women to take bumps like that so props to them for doing that spot. Not only that, Sexy Star managed to get revenge on Taya from everything she has done to her.

Excellent Last Luchadora Standing match as I want to see where both women will go from here.

The Reptile Tribe Vs. The Mack, Killshot, and Dante Fox for the Lucha Underground Trios Championships was a great trios match. After winning the Unique Opportunity Battle Royal, The Mack got a shot at the Lucha Underground Trios Championships with his partners being Killshot and Dante Fox due to the order of Dario Cueto. Besides Killshot and Dante Fox being injured and having hatred towards each other, they manage to fight against The Reptile Tribe in a competitive fashion.

The Mack, Killshot, and Dante Fox got their moments in this match and despite the differences that Killshot and Dante Fox had for each other, they managed to work with each other in order to try to secure the victory. The reverse somersault dive from Killshot and the somersault dive over the top rope from Dante Fox on Vibora and Drago were cool to see. The Reptile Tribe did great too by showing their unity in this match and there was a chance where The Reptile Tribe could have finished the match early if Pindar followed Kobra Moon‘s order, but he didn’t as that cost him. Great work from both trios here.

The ending of the match came when Dante Fox hit Pindar with a moonsault side slam followed by a stunner from The Mack and finished Pindar off with a diving double foot stomp from Killshot for the pin and to win the Lucha Underground Trios Championships! Mark out moment! The Mack and Killshot have been in Lucha Underground since the first season so seeing them finally win gold in Lucha Underground was nice to see and Dante Fox had a great season this season so he deserved a belt. I like how despite their differences, they managed to work together and ended up showing respect for each other at the end so that was great.

Great trios match and congratulations to The Mack, Killshot, and Dante Fox for becoming the new Lucha Underground Trios Champions!

We then get the rest of the card from Matt Striker and Vampiro as they announced the finale of Ultima Lucha Tres for next week which includes Dragon Azteca Jr. Vs. Matanza in a steel cage match, Cage Vs. Jeremiah Crane Vs. Mil Muertes for the Gauntlet of the Gods, and Johnny Mundo Vs. Prince Puma in a Career Vs. Title match for the Lucha Underground Championship. This looks to be awesome and I can’t wait for next week’s finale. It should be awesome.

Son of Havoc Vs. Pentagon Dark in a ladder match for the Lucha Underground Gift of the Gods Championship was excellent. Mark out moment! These two men went to war here as both of them want to become champion and they gave everything they had.

Son of Havoc did excellent in this match as he tried to become the Lucha Underground Gift of the Gods Champion. The way he had Pentagon Dark in the corner while putting a ladder near his nuts as he grabbed a chair and slammed that ladder into his nuts had to hurt like heck. His belly-to-back suplex on top of a tilted ladder through a table on Pentagon Dark was cool to see. Excellent work from Son of Havoc here.

Pentagon Dark did excellent in this match as well as he also tried to become the Lucha Underground Gift of the Gods Champion. The way he countered Son of Havoc’s shooting star press into a cutter was very impressive. His package piledriver on Son of Havoc on top of chairs must have broken his neck. Excellent work from Pentagon Dark here.

The ending of the match came when Pentagon Dark hit an uranage on Son of Havoc from a bridge ladder through a table as he climbed the ladder and grabbed the championship to win and is the new Lucha Underground Gift of the Gods Champion! Mark out moment! It’s about time that Pentagon Dark won a championship in Lucha Underground and he earned it. I can’t wait to see the moment when he wins the Lucha Underground Championship whenever that happens. Cero Miedo!

Excellent ladder match and congratulations to Pentagon Dark for being the new Lucha Underground Gift of the Gods Champion!

The video segment between Prince Puma and Vampiro was great. Prince Puma was in Vampiro’s temple as he was meditating until Vampiro appeared and told Prince Puma that he must defeat Johnny Mundo in order to keep his career and to win the Lucha Underground Championship. Vampiro then asked Prince Puma if he understood him as Prince Puma said he does where Vampiro told him to go as Prince Puma headed towards the temple.

Once Prince Puma left, the candle lights went out as a mysterious voice told Vampiro that he did a good job as Vampiro thanked his master.

So it seems like Vampiro was manipulating Prince Puma all along just to follow his master’s orders. However, who is Vampiro’s master? I hope we get that answer next week, but only time will tell. Great video segment to end the show.

Overall, great show that had excellent matches and great moments throughout the whole show. Now, comparing Ultima Lucha Tres with Ultima Lucha and Ultima Lucha Dos will come once Ultima Lucha Tres is done. Till then, we should enjoy Ultima Lucha Tres for the time being. Next week, the final part of Ultima Lucha Tres will begin and I can’t wait! It should be great. If you haven’t already, please check out Lucha Underground. It’s a great alternative to the mainstream wrestling and you won’t be disappointed. Looking forward to next week’s show. Lucha! Lucha! Lucha! Lucha!
