NXT’s Next Breakout Stars in 2018?: Mexico

Published

on

Mexico has produced some of the best professional wrestlers in the world who are well known for their Lucha Libre style and their aerial maneuvers. For the past few years, the Mexican wrestling scene continues to rise each day as they have some of the youngest, brightest, and the best Mexican stars that could do well on a national stage.

For the past two years, NXT has picked up some of the best Mexican talents or talents that have wrestled in Mexico for years such as Andrade “Cien” Almas, Gran Metalik, Sin Cara, Raul Mendoza, and etc. It’s only a matter of time when WWE is planning to sign more talent from Mexico as they’re looking to increase their Mexican market.

This list won’t contain wrestlers that competed in NXT or the developmental territory of WWE in the past such as Sam Adonis so please keep that in mind.

Here’s the list I have about one year ago for NXT’s Next Breakout Stars in 2017?:

Mexico:

10. Dragón Lee

9. Faby Apache

8. Los Güeros del Cielo

7. Volador Jr.

6. La Máscara

5. Fénix

4. Texano

3. El Hijo del Fantasma

2. Pentagón Jr.

1. Rush

Now, it’s time to see which ten wrestlers from Mexico I think NXT will pick up or I want NXT to pick up in 2018.

Honorable Mentions: Ángel de Oro, Bárbaro Cavernario, Dragón Rojo Jr., Gran Guerrero, Místico, Niebla Roja, Titán, Princesa Sugehit, Aero Star, Angélico, Australian Suicide, Kevin Kross, Máscara de Bronce, Ayako Hamada, Lady Shani, Bestia 666, Daga, Jack Evans, Flamita, Último Ninja

10. Pagano

From Cuidad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, Pagano is one of the most extreme and hardcore wrestlers in the Mexican wrestling scene today who is known for his work in AAA.

With nine years of wrestling experience, this clown will risk his own body to get to the top. With his unique look, great character, good charisma, and solid in-ring ability, he would be an interesting character in the NXT roster.

I don’t know if NXT has any interest in him or not, but he would be an interesting character in NXT that would stand out among the rest. However, with the relationship that AAA and Impact Wrestling have, I doubt we would see Pagano in NXT, but like I said, if he was to join, he would stand out among the rest.

9. La Máscara

From Mexico City, Mexico, La Máscara is one of the best heels in the Mexican wrestling scene today who is well known for his work in CMLL and The Crash.

With seventeen years of wrestling experience, this man will do whatever it takes to get to the top even if he has to cheat. With his great look, excellent character, excellent charisma, and good in-ring ability, he could be a great star and character for NXT with his Los Ingobernables gimmick.

I don’t know if NXT has interest in him or not, but if they’re looking for more luchadors which NXT wants at the moment, La Máscara would be a good choice to be a part of the NXT roster. Not only that, he could reunite with Andrade “Cien” Almas in NXT and reform Los Ingobernables with him. Tranquilo!

8. Zeuxis

From San Juan, Puerto Rico, Zeuxis is one of the best luchadoras in the Mexican wrestling scene today who is well known for her work in CMLL.

With nine years of wrestling experience, this woman will do whatever it takes to be the best in lucha libre for the luchadoras. With her good look, solid character, solid charisma, and her great in-ring ability, she would be a nice addition to the NXT women’s division.

She did have a tryout with WWE last year so it seems that NXT may have an interest in her, but haven’t got back to her ever since. If they’re looking for a luchadora to represent the NXT women’s division, Zeuxis would be that luchadora.

7. Texano

From Mexico City, Mexico, Texano is one of the rising stars in the Mexican wrestling scene today who is well known for his work in AAA.

With eighteen years of wrestling experience, this cowboy is willing to hurt and beat up people to get to the top. With his great look, good character, good charisma, and great in-ring ability, he would be great in NXT in singles competition.

I don’t know if NXT has interest in him or not, but if they’re looking for more luchadors which NXT wants at the moment, Texano would be a good choice to be part of the NXT roster. Plus, we need to see a cowboy character in NXT again. However, with him being associated with Lucha Underground as well as the relationship between AAA and Impact Wrestling, I doubt we will see him in NXT, but he would be an interesting addition to the NXT roster.

6. El Hijo del Fantasma

From Mexico City, Mexico, El Hijo del Fantasma is one of the best cruiserweight wrestlers in the Mexican wrestling scene today who is well known for his work in AAA.

With seventeen years of wrestling experience, this man is a hunter that is willing to hunt down anyone to get to the top. With his unique look, good character, good charisma, and excellent in-ring ability, he would be great for NXT especially in the NXT Championship picture.

WWE has shown an interest in him last year as they wanted him to be a part of the Cruiserweight Classic and even El Hijo del Fantasma has the interest to be a part of the Cruiserweight Classic as well. However, he couldn’t due to his contract with AAA and Lucha Underground. In addition, with the relationship between AAA and Impact Wrestling, it will be even harder for him to get into NXT at this time. Even though we probably won’t see El Hijo del Fantasma in NXT for a while, he would be a great signing for NXT as he is The Hunter!

5. Volador Jr.

From Monclova, Mexico, Volador Jr. is a veteran of the Mexican wrestling scene for the past decade who is well known for his work in CMLL.

With twenty years of wrestling experience, this man is willing to do whatever it takes to reach the top even if it means risking his body. With his good look, solid character, solid charisma, and great in-ring ability, he would do well in NXT in either singles or tag team competition.

WWE has shown an interest in him last year as they’re trying to sign more luchadors to the NXT roster. However, it all depends on whether or not that Volador Jr. is interested in signing with WWE as he seemed to be very comfortable in CMLL at the moment. Either way, if Volador Jr. does sign with NXT, he is going to risk every part of his body in order to be at the top.

4. Dragón Lee

From Tala, Mexico, Dragón Lee is one of the fastest and rising stars in the Mexican wrestling scene today who is well known for his work in CMLL.

With only three years of wrestling experience, this man is already taking the Mexican wrestling scene by storm with his unique look and his great in-ring ability. Even though he lacked in the character and charisma department, he has a unique look and he’s a great in-ring wrestler. He could be a great star for NXT in singles competition.

I don’t know if NXT has interest in him or not, but I do know that Dragon Lee has interest in signing with WWE in the future so it’s only a matter of whether or not, NXT is interested in him or not. Even though he lacked character and charisma, him getting signed could benefit him as he can go to the Performance Center to get a character and charisma there. Even though I don’t think I see him signing with NXT in 2018, I expect him to sign with NXT in about two to three years down the line because the sky is the limit for the dragon.

3. Rey Fénix

From Mexico City, Mexico, Rey Fénix is one of the best high-flyers in the Mexican wrestling scene today who is well known for his work in AAA and The Crash.

With twelve years of wrestling experience, this man has a thousand lives to be the best what he does and that is to soar like a phoenix. With his unique look, solid character, solid charisma, and his excellent high-flying ability, he would be great for NXT especially in the NXT Championship picture.

Just like with El Hijo del Fantasma, WWE has shown an interest in him last year as they wanted him to be a part of the Cruiserweight Classic, but couldn’t because he was under contract with AAA and Lucha Underground. Even though we probably won’t see Fénix in NXT for a while, he would be a great signing for NXT. Animal!

2. Penta El 0M

From Mexico City, Mexico, Penta El 0M is one of the best wrestlers in the Mexican wrestling scene today who is well known for his work in AAA and The Crash.

With nine years of wrestling experience, this man has zero fear of anyone he faces because he will take on anyone that gets in his way. With his unique look, excellent character, excellent charisma, and excellent in-ring ability, he would be great for NXT in the NXT Championship picture.

I don’t know if NXT has interest in him or not, but if they’re looking for more luchadors which NXT wants at the moment, Penta El 0M would be a great choice to be part of the NXT roster. Plus, his unique character will make him stand out from everyone else in NXT. Cero Miedo!

1. Rush

From Tala, Mexico, Rush is one of the best heels in the Mexican wrestling scene today who is well known for his work in CMLL.

With ten years of wrestling experience, just like La Máscara, he will do whatever it takes to get to the top even if it involves cheating. With his great look, excellent character, excellent charisma, and excellent in-ring ability, he would be perfect for NXT in the NXT Championship picture.

Just like with Volador Jr., WWE has shown an interest in him last year as they’re trying to sign more luchadors to the NXT roster. However, it all depends on whether or not that Rush is interested in signing with WWE as he seemed to be very comfortable in CMLL at the moment. Either way, if Rush does sign with NXT, he should pair up with Los Ingobernables brethren in Andrade “Cien” Almas. Tranquilo!

That is my top ten wrestlers from Mexico who I think/want to be in NXT in 2018. Which wrestlers from Mexico would you like to see in NXT in 2018? Let me know in the comment section below.
