NXT’s Next Breakout Stars in 2018?: ROH

Published

on

ROH is one of the most well-known wrestling companies in the United States today where the company is well known for its great wrestlers for the past decade-plus. Some of the best wrestlers that WWE has today has come from ROH and they still have some of the best wrestlers in the world today.

For about half a decade, NXT has picked up some wrestlers who are well known for their time in ROH such as Seth Rollins, Cesaro, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Cedric Alexander, Roderick Strong, Undisputed Era, Lio Rush, Donovan Dijak, and etc. It’s only a matter of time when WWE is planning to sign more talent from ROH if they want to continue their tour of branding with recognizable stars.

This list won’t contain wrestlers that competed in NXT or the developmental territory of WWE in the past such as Colt Cabana, Josh Woods, and etc. so please keep that in mind.

Here’s the list I have about one year ago for NXT’s Next Breakout Stars in 2017?:

ROH:

5. Donovan Dijak

4. Dalton Castle

3. The Briscoes

2. Jay Lethal

1. Adam Cole

Now, it’s time to see which five wrestlers from ROH I think NXT will pick up or I want NXT to pick up in 2018.

Honorable Mentions: Adam Page, Motor City Machine Guns, Chuck Taylor, Deonna Purrazzo, Flip Gordon, Jay Briscoe, Jonathan Gresham, Karen Q, Kelly Klein, Kenny King, Coast to Coast, Mark Briscoe, The Kingdom, The Young Bucks, Punishment Martinez, The Dawgs, Shane Taylor, Silas Young

5. Will Ospreay

From Essex, England, Will Ospreay is one of the best high flyers in the world and continues to showcase his talents within ROH.

With five years of wrestling experience, this man is an aerial assassin that can hang with the best high flyers in wrestling today. With his good look and excellent high flying ability, he will be great in the singles ranks in NXT.

With NXT planning to sign top talents around the world, Will Ospreay will be very high on that list because he is a star on the rise. Even though he may lack character and charisma, him going to NXT can help him a lot as he can work on those areas in the Performance Center to improve his craft. It’s only a matter of time when the aerial assassin gets on the national stage.

4. Dalton Castle

From Albany, New York, Dalton Castle is a rising star in ROH as of late who is well known for his unique character and his fantastic charisma.

With nine years of wrestling experience, this party peacock is here to have fun, but also to be serious as well as he can take on anyone in the ring. With his unique look, great character, excellent charisma, and great in-ring ability, he would do well in the NXT Championship picture where people can get behind him.

Sometime two years ago, Dalton Castle said that he has no interest in joining WWE as he’s very content with his time in ROH so I don’t think we’ll be seeing Dalton Castle in NXT anytime soon. Earlier this year, WWE was interested in signing Dalton Castle, but Dalton Castle ended up re-signing with ROH. Despite not possibly being in NXT for a while, he would make a very unique and interesting addition to the NXT roster. Ca-caw!

3. War Machine

Hanson and Raymond Rowe, War Machine are becoming one of the best tag teams that ROH has today who are known to show dominance and pain when they’re in the ring.

With three years as a tag team, these two have been ROH World Tag Team Champions with their excellent chemistry, their unique characters, solid charisma, and great in-ring abilities.

WWE had an interest in War Machine for the past two years so it’s only a matter of time when they get signed to NXT, but I think they’re happy in the position they’re in at the moment with them being in ROH and NJPW. However, if they did come to NXT, they would have cause war inside the ring.

2. Jay Lethal

From Elizabeth, New Jersey, Jay Lethal is one of the best talents and top stars in ROH has today who is well known for his great charisma and great in-ring ability.

With sixteen years of wrestling experience, this greatest first generation wrestler is here to show why he is the best in the world today. With his unique look, good character, great charisma, and great in-ring ability, he would do great in the NXT Championship picture.

WWE has an interest in Jay Lethal for the past three years, but every time they’re looking to sign Jay Lethal, he always managed to re-sign with ROH as he’s very content with his current position in the company. Either way, if Jay Lethal were ever to get signed with NXT, he would show the world why he is the greatest first generation wrestler.

1. Marty Scurll

From Cambridgeshire, England, Marty Scurll is one of the best wrestlers in the world today who decided to showcase his skills in ROH.

With twelve years of wrestling experience, this man is a villain that is going to sneak his way to the top as he’s one of the best wrestlers that the UK has to offer. With his great look, excellent character, excellent charisma, and excellent in-ring ability, he would be perfect for NXT in the NXT Championship picture.

Just like with Will Ospreay, Marty Scurll should be very high on NXT’s list of who should be signed to NXT in the future. It’s only matter of time when we down to the villain. Long live “The Villain”.

That is my top five wrestlers from ROH who I think/want to be in NXT in 2018. Which wrestlers from ROH would you like to see in NXT in 2018? Let me know in the comment section below.
