205 Live 11/7/17 Review: The UK Takes Center Stage

Published

on

205 Live on November 7, 2017, was a good show. 205 Live is a show where the cruiserweights take center stage as they will risk their bodies to entertain us wrestling fans. Let’s break it down:

We start off the show with a video package as the UK division and the cruiserweight division collide as Enzo Amore faced Pete Dunne and lost to him due to the help of Kalisto. Cool to see that the UK division will be showcased on this show. Should be a lot of fun. Well produced video package here.

The Zo Show with Jordan Devlin, Tucker, James Drake, Mark Andrews, Tyler Bate, and Joseph Conners hosted by Enzo Amore was great. Enzo Amore did his usual shtick before cutting a promo on how this is the premiere of the Zo Show and that the show is a rating draw as money bring happiness which he said it was a lie. The crowd chanted boring against him as he responded by saying he’s not boring as he’s a G. He then started making fun of the UK as he called Manchester, Blandchester. He then talked about how he lost to Pete Dunne as he doesn’t even know who he is and the only reason he lost to him was due to Kalisto.

He then called out the UK division as Jordan Devlin, Tucker, James Drake, Mark Andrews, Tyler Bate, and Joseph Conners made their way to the ring as he shook hands with all of them! Mark out moment for all of the UK guys in the UK division to appear on the show! Hope to see more of them in WWE in the future. He then said that all of them have potential as he began to talk to the UK division guys one by one.

Enzo Amore then talked to everyone as they respond how you doin’ to him expect Joseph Conners to say he was good. Enzo Amore talked with Jordan Devlin first as Jordan Devlin said he was trained by Finn Balor, but he’s here for the money and fame just like Enzo Amore as Enzo Amore started to like Jordan Devlin. Enzo Amore then talked with Tucker as Tucker said he’s half the man that Finn Balor is as Enzo Amore didn’t care and moved on. Enzo Amore then talked with James Drake as he could be a part of his Zo Train as James Drake did the train sound as Enzo Amore started to like him.

Enzo Amore then talked with Mark Andrews as he said he’s one of the best high-flyers in the world today, but he thinks that he needs to lose weight to be in the cruiserweight division as he moves on. Enzo Amore then started to talk with Tyler Bate as he asked what his name one more time as the crowd chanted Tyler Bate’s name for him. Enzo Amore then asked Tyler Bate if he has what it takes to be in the Zo Train as Tyler Bate talked about how he rather be in Moustache Mountain as Enzo Amore said that Moustache Mountain doesn’t exist when The Zo Train is here. Tyler Bate then said to Enzo Amore that he doesn’t want to hear his voice as it annoys him. Enzo Amore then said that Tyler Bate can be in the Zo Train as he could be his butler as he told him to do his work as Tyler Bate punched him in the face as Enzo Amore rolled out of the ring.

It’s cool to see some of the UK guys being featured here as I hope to see them more on WWE down the line. It seems like we’ll get a potential match between Enzo Amore and Tyler Bate probably later in the show, but we’ll wait and see.

Great Zo Show as we’ll probably get a match between Enzo Amore and Tyler Bate later on the show.

We then get an announcement that later on the show, it will be Tyler Bate Vs. Enzo Amore. After what happened earlier in the show, it was expected. It should be an interesting match.

We then get a vignette of James Drake and it was good. James Drake talked about how he has traveled all over the world and has gained impressive victories as he’s a fighter. He then said that he’s cold, calculated, and will do whatever it takes to get the victory.

This was the same vignette from the United Kingdom Championship Tournament, but this is good for people who don’t know about him so that’s nice. Can’t wait to see him back in action in a WWE ring.

Kalisto Vs. Gentleman Jack Gallagher was a great match. We get a recap of what happened last week when Rich Swann with Cedric Alexander defeated The Brian Kendrick with Gentleman Jack Gallagher. Gentleman Jack Gallagher then cut a promo as he said that he’s glad he’s back home as he’s being reminded of how he left everything behind for the good of himself as he didn’t want to become a clown like the rest of Manchester and what Cedric Alexander is slowly becoming towards. Gentleman Jack Gallagher then said that he’s bigger than his old self, he’s bigger than Manchester, and he’s bigger than Great Britain as the match soon began. A lot has changed with Gentleman Jack Gallagher including a new theme for him. Nice to see more of this new character of Gentleman Jack Gallagher. Anyway, back to the match itself.

Gentleman Jack Gallagher continued to show his new aggressive side in the ring ever since he has aligned himself with The Brian Kendrick. The way he was working on Kalisto’s arm was great in-ring psychology and the way he countered Kalisto’s moonsault into a Fujiwara armbar was impressive. Kalisto did great in this match as he’s getting ready for Enzo Amore at Survivor Series. His slingshot somersault senton on Gentleman Jack Gallagher to the outside was impressive and his hurricanrana driver on Gentleman Jack Gallagher looked devastating. Great work by both men here.

The ending of the match came when Kalisto hit the Salida del Sol (Standing sitout shiranui) on Gentleman Jack Gallagher for the pin and win. Kalisto is getting momentum heading into Survivor Series. Lucha! Lucha! Lucha! Lucha!

Great match and we’ll see if Kalisto will regain the WWE Cruiserweight Championship from Enzo Amore at Survivor Series.

The backstage interview with Enzo Amore by Dasha Fuentes was good. Enzo Amore was walking backstage holding his head in pain as Dasha Fuentes asked Enzo Amore about his match against Tyler Bate later on the show as Enzo Amore said that Tyler Bate wasn’t supposed to be here as he punched him like he’s someone special. He then said that he will teach Tyler Bate a lesson.

Enzo Amore is pissed at Tyler Bate for what he did to him earlier in the show. We’ll see if Enzo Amore can beat Tyler Bate later on the show. Good backstage interview here.

Cedric Alexander & Mark Andrews Vs. James Drake & Joseph Conners was a good tag team match. We get a vignette of Mark Andrews as he talked about how he wants to take the UK and Wales on the map for wrestling. He then said that he wants Wales to know wrestling and Wales to know Mark Andrews. Once again, this is good for those who don’t know Mark Andrews so I appreciate that.

We then get a vignette of Joseph Conners as he talked about how he’s hard-hitting in the ring and that he can fight anyone as he’s been through a lot of tough fights as he even lost half an ear. Just like with the other vignettes, it shows who the person is so that’s great. Mark out moment for Mark Andrews, James Drake, and Joseph Conners making their in-ring debut for 205 Live! This might be a one-time thing, but awesome to see them in action. Let’s talk about the match now.

James Drake & Joseph Conners showed some great chemistry in this match as James Drake hit a nice spinning wheelbarrow facebuster on Mark Andrews and Joseph Conners hit a modified backbreaker on Mark Andrews. Cedric Alexander & Mark Andrews showed some great chemistry in the ring as well, the leg drop/standing moonsault combination on James Drake was impressive. Cedric Alexander also hit a nice springboard clothesline on Joseph Conners and his back handspring backflip kicks on James Drake and Joseph Conners were impressive. Good work from both teams here.

The ending of the match came when Mark Andrews hit a shooting star press on Joseph Conners for the pin and win for his team. I could really see Mark Andrews doing well in the cruiserweight division if he ever joins.

Good tag team match and hope to see more of the UK guys down the line in a WWE ring.

We then get a vignette of Tyler Bate and it was good. Tyler Bate talked about how he has nothing to lose as he’s young as he has two fists that can do the fighting for him. He then said that age is just a number and the only numbers he cares about are the one, two, three.

This was the same vignette from the United Kingdom Championship Tournament, but like with the previous UK guys, it shows who the person is and what they’re about. Let’s see the in-ring debut of Tyler Bate in 205 Live.

Tyler Bate Vs. Enzo Amore was a good match. Tyler Bate made his in-ring debut for 205 Live! Mark out moment! This might be his only match in 205 Live, but we’ll see down the line. However, let’s talk about how he does against Enzo Amore.

Tyler Bate showed Enzo Amore that he’s not a man that he should be messed with in the ring. The way he kept fighting back against Enzo Amore despite the punishment he took showed that he has great heart. Enzo Amore showed Tyler Bate to show him respect inside the ring. The way he threw up Tyler Bate onto the barricade and throwing him into the barricade looked painful as heck. His clothesline on Tyler Bate looked devastating. Good work from both men here.

The ending of the match came when Enzo Amore hit the JawdonZo (Inverted stomp facebreaker) on Tyler Bate for the pin and win. A great win for Enzo Amore as he’s looking strong heading into Survivor Series. How you doin’?!

After the match, Enzo Amore continued to beat down on Tyler Bate until Kalisto made the save as he stared down against Enzo Amore. Kalisto wants Enzo Amore badly, but he has to wait until Survivor Series.

Good match and we’ll see if Kalisto can regain the WWE Cruiserweight Championship from Enzo Amore at Survivor Series.

Overall, good show for the fiftieth episode of 205 Live. It’s great to see the cruiserweights with more focus and attention here and it’s only going to get better from here. Looking forward to it.
