NXT’s Next Breakout Stars in 2018?: SHIMMER and SHINE

Published

on

SHIMMER, SHINE, and women’s wrestling, in general, has been a big part of professional wrestling for many decades. For the past few years, women’s wrestling has evolved as some of the best wrestlers in the world today are women who are just as talented or even better than the men. With SHIMMER and SHINE, it can be seen that women’s wrestling can have an impact on professional wrestling if booked written correctly.

For the past few years, NXT has picked up some of the best women’s wrestlers in the world that have worked in SHIMMER and SHINE for years such as Bayley, Billie Kay, Ember Moon, Sarah Logan, and etc. It’s only a matter of time when WWE is planning to sign more talent from SHIMMER and SHINE as they’re looking to make women’s wrestling great again.

This list won’t contain wrestlers that competed in NXT or the developmental territory of WWE in the past such as Ivelisse, Su Yung, etc. so please keep that in mind.

Here’s the list I have about one year ago for NXT’s Next Breakout Stars in 2017?:

SHIMMER and SHINE:

10. Shazza McKenzie

9. Madison Eagles

8. Veda Scott

7. Leva Bates

6. Barbi Hayden

5. Santana Garrett

4. Tessa Blanchard

3. Evie

2. Nicole Matthews

1. Candice LeRae

Now, it’s time to see which ten wrestlers from SHIMMER and SHINE I think NXT will pick up or I want NXT to pick up in 2018.

Honorable Mentions: Christina Von Eerie, Delilah Doom, Jessicka Havok, Jessie Belle, LuFisto, Marti Belle, Nevaeh, Priscilla Kelly, Rachael Ellering, Raquel, Vanessa Kraven, Xandra Bale

10. Leva Bates

From Madisonville, Kentucky, Leva Bates is one of the rising stars in women’s wrestling today who is well known for her work in SHIMMER and SHINE.

With ten years of wrestling experience, this woman will do whatever it takes to get herself noticed. With her good look, good character, good charisma, and good in-ring ability, she would be an interesting addition to the NXT women’s division.

She has competed with NXT for one year from 2014 to 2015 who is well known as Blue Pants so NXT did have an interest in her during that time. After a while, they stopped using her due to her behavior and her backstage incidents with the NXT locker room. Even though I don’t think there’s much of a chance for her to be in NXT compared to two years ago, she would have been a fun addition to the NXT women’s division as she did get over huge during her run in NXT in that time. Blue Pants!

9. Shazza McKenzie

From Sydney, Australia, Shazza McKenzie is one of the most improved women’s wrestlers in women’s wrestling today who is well known for her work in SHIMMER and SHINE.

With nine years of wrestling experience, this woman is slowly making a name for herself in the women’s wrestling scene. With her good look, good character, good charisma, and good in-ring ability, she could be a potential star for NXT in their women’s division.

Two years ago, she made an appearance for NXT in a match against her long-time rival Emma. So NXT does have some interest in Shazza McKenzie, but haven’t used her since then. I don’t know if NXT will be interested in her or not, but either way, she would be an interesting addition to the NXT women’s division if she got signed.

8. Nicole Savoy

From Pulaski County, Missouri, Nicole Savoy is a rising star in women’s wrestling today who is well known for her work in SHIMMER with her technical and striking ability in the ring.

With six years of wrestling experience, this queen is looking to throw suplexes to anyone that will get her way to the top. With her unique look, good character, good charisma, and great in-ring ability, she could be a dangerous threat in the NXT Women’s division.

Earlier this year, she has competed in the Mae Young Classic so it seems like NXT does have some interest in her. Don’t know if they will get her down the road, but this queen looks to reign supreme no matter where she goes and if it’s in NXT, she would throw suplexes on everyone.

7. Veda Scott

From Providence, Rhode Island, Veda Scott is one of the rising stars in women’s wrestling today who is well known for her work in SHIMMER.

With six years of wrestling experience, this woman of a lawyer will do whatever it takes to take it to the top. With her great look, her great character, excellent charisma, and good in-ring ability, she could be an interesting addition to NXT women’s division, whether it’s in the ring or as a valet.

I don’t know if NXT is interested in her or not, but if NXT is looking for women’s wrestlers have great charisma, Veda Scott would be a great candidate for them as she would rule her way to the top of the NXT women’s division.

6. Santana Garrett

From Ocala, Florida, Santana Garrett is one of the rising stars in women’s wrestling today who is only going to get better as time goes on. She is well known for her work in SHINE.

With eight years of wrestling experience, this sweetheart worked hard for the past few years to show that she can be one of the best women’s wrestlers in the world today. With her good look, solid character, solid charisma, and her in-ring ability, she would be great for NXT especially in the NXT Women’s Championship picture.

For the past two years, she has appeared on NXT numerous times who went up against the likes of Asuka and Billie Kay. In addition, she has competed in the Mae Young Classic earlier in this year so NXT does have some interest in Santana Garrett and it’s only a matter of time when this sweetheart will get a chance to showcase herself.

5. Tessa Blanchard

From Charlotte, North Carolina, Tessa Blanchard is one of the rising stars in women’s wrestling today who is well known for her work in SHIMMER and SHINE.

With three years of wrestling experience, this second generation women’s wrestler is here to show that she’s not just Tully Blanchard’s daughter. With her great look, great character, great charisma, and good in-ring ability, she would be an interesting addition to the NXT Women’s division.

For the past two years, she has appeared on NXT numerous times who went up against the likes of Alexa Bliss, Nia Jax, and Carmella. In addition, she has competed in the Mae Young Classic earlier in this year so NXT does have some interest in Tessa Blanchard and it’s only a matter of time when this second generation women’s wrestler will overcome her father’s shadow.

4. Mia Yim

From Fontana, California, Mia Yim is a blasian barbie that knows her skills and talents in the ring as she has been making herself one of the best women’s wrestlers in the world today with her great in-ring ability.

With eight years of wrestling experience, this blasian barbie is here to prove that she has a future in women’s wrestling. With her great look and great in-ring ability, she would be a great addition to the NXT Women’s division.

She made an appearance with NXT three years ago when she competed against Charlotte using her well-known ring name Mia Yim during that time. In addition, earlier this year, she has competed in the Mae Young Classic so NXT does have some interest in her and she would do great in the NXT women’s division as she can hang with the top women in NXT. Plus, even if she does lack character and charisma, her getting signed with NXT can benefit her as she can go to the Performance Center to develop a character there.

3. Nicole Matthews

From Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada, Nicole Matthews is one of the rising stars in women’s wrestling today who is well known for her work in SHIMMER and SHINE.

With eleven years of wrestling experience, this Canadian ninja is looking to slice through the competition to get to the top of women’s wrestling. With her great look, great character, great charisma, and great in-ring ability, she would be great for NXT in the NXT Women’s Championship picture.

Last year, she made an appearance on NXT when she had a match against Asuka. So NXT does have some interest in her if she ever does get signed by NXT, this Canadian woman would make a huge statement in the NXT women’s division.

2. Mercedes Martinez

From Waterbury, Connecticut, Mercedes Martinez is a veteran in women’s wrestling as she has competed in SHIMMER and SHINE for years to show that she is the Latina Sensation.

With sixteen years of wrestling experience, this Latina Sensation is here to prove why she is one of the best women’s wrestlers in the world. With her unique look, good character, great charisma, and great in-ring ability, she would make a big mark in the NXT Women’s division.

Earlier this year, she competed in the Mae Young Classic and she has competed in NXT twice so it seems like NXT does have an interest in her. Whether she will get signed or not, she would make a big player in the NXT Women’s division.

1. Candice LeRae

From Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Candice LeRae is one of the best women’s wrestlers in women’s wrestling today who is well known for her work in SHIMMER.

With fifteen years of wrestling experience, this Canadian goddess is looking to rule all of women’s wrestling. With her great look, good character, good charisma, and excellent in-ring ability, she would be perfect for NXT in the NXT Women’s Championship picture.

Earlier this year, she competed in the Mae Young Classic and she has competed in NXT twice so it seems like they do have some interest in her. Plus, her husband, Johnny Gargano is currently on NXT so who doesn’t want her to align herself with him? I know I would.

That is my top ten wrestlers from SHIMMER and SHINE who I think/want to be in NXT in 2018. Which wrestlers from SHIMMER and SHINE would you like to see in NXT in 2018? Let me know in the comment section below.
