Top Matches For WWE SummerSlam Already Set In Place

WWE has their key storylines ready to headline SummerSlam and the top matches are set. Vince McMahon has a top card in place and the matches for John Cena and Roman Reigns have already been decided upon, reports Dave Meltzer. As noted a couple of days ago, there were plans for Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman and then that changed to Lesnar vs. Bray Wyatt but, as of now, there is no match finalized for Lesnar. Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks for the Women’s Championship is still the plan for SummerSlam. The idea for SummerSlam weekend is to promote everything like a second mini-WrestleMania week with events around the city. NXT Takeover: Brooklyn takes place on the night before SummerSlam (8/19). SummerSlam is on 8/20 and Raw is on 8/21. All three shows will be at the Barclays Center. The company will be there again for SummerSlam weekend 2017. John Sapoor, WWE’s EVP of Special Events, wants to make this year’s SummerSlam weekend bigger than last year. WWE would probably also look towards Coach & ESPN for coverage once again.
