The Calgary Herald is reporting that charges of sexual assault, unlawful confinement, and assault against wrestling star Teddy Hart were officially dropped back on May 26th during a preliminary hearing, meaning he will now avoid any and all further prosecution. According to the Herald, the case “didn’t meet the criteria needed to move forward.”

Hart was initially accused by two women from the Sherwood Park area of “several incidents” in 2013 and 2014. As a result, Hart signed what’s known as a “peace bond” on the same day of the hearing, meaning that he would agree to not have any contact with either woman over a period of two years.

Following the charges being dropped, Hart’s lawyer had the following to say:

“Teddy has had this fog of charges over him for a year and a half. He’s relieved and looks forward to getting back to work.”
