Chris Jericho appeared on ESPN’s SportsCenter on Tuesday night to promote Sunday’s WWE Money in the Bank PPV event.

Jonathan Coachman, who was the host of the segment, brought up that Jericho was involved in the first Money in the Bank ladder match in 2005 at WrestleMania 21. Jericho said that he came up with the idea of the match because there was not a ton of opportunities for guys at WrestleMania. Coachman asked if one of the MITB matches stick out to him. Jericho said that the 2012 match stuck out to him and that the match is very dangerous because ladders can cause a lot of damage. Jericho believes a ladder match is more dangerous than a normal match.

Coachman brought up Jericho’s match with AJ Styles at WrestleMania 32. Jericho explained that it was huge and he took pride in wrestling Styles at the event. Jericho said that he takes great pride in working with the younger guys and that’s why he still does this. Coachman asked him who he sees as the next major star in WWE and Jericho explained that he sees potential in all of the younger competitors (Kevin Owens, Cesaro, Sami Zayn, Dean Ambrose) in the MITB ladder match.

Jericho gave high praise to Owens and said that he is just different which makes him believe that Owens has a great future. Jericho also thinks that Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura has major potential in WWE. Coachman asked Jericho about his match with Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 19. Jericho said that it was a special match because Michaels was a hero of his growing up. Jericho also praised Michaels and their storyline in 2008. Coachman brought up The Rock. Jericho said that he had great chemistry with Rock and they could match up with each other when they exchanged promos.
