Two Lucha Underground Stars Injured

As first noted on Saturday night on the Wrestling Observer website, Matanza (Jeff Cobb) sliced his arm after punching a glass window in a planned spot at Saturday’s Lucha Underground tapings. The spot occured during his match with Dragon Azteca. The match was ended right away when the injury occurred and Johnny Mundo was sent out to the ring with PJ Black to keep the crowd busy.

All things considered, it doesn’t appear that he will be out of action for an extended period of time. Cobb went on twitter to provide fans with an update:

Angelico also appeared to be injured at Sunday’s Lucha Underground TV tapings.

Fans in attendance at the taping noted that he landed badly while doing a springboard move and appeared to suffer an elbow injury. This led to the referee holding up the “X” sign and the other wrestlers worked to the finish of the match and Angelico was taken to the back.
