NJPW New Japan Cup 2017 Day 1 Results *SPOILERS*

These results contain spoilers of New Japan Cup 2017 so if you don’t want to be spoiled, watch the show first before reading these results.

From March 11 to March 20, NJPW presents New Japan Cup 2017 where sixteen heavyweights battle it out in a single-elimination tournament where the winner will get a title shot for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, the IWGP Intercontinental Championship, or the NEVER Openweight Championship at Sakura Genesis.


Here are the results of NJPW New Japan Cup on March 11, 2017.


Suzuki-gun (El Desperado & TAKA Michinoku) defeated Ryusuke Taguchi & Hirai Kawato

Tencozy (Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima) & Jushin “Thunder” Liger defeated Yuji Nagata, Manabu Nakanishi & Tiger Mask

Bullet Club (Kenny Omega & Yujiro Takahashi) defeated CHAOS (Tomohiro Ishii & YOSHI-HASHI)

Los Ingobernables de Japón (Tetsuya Naito, SANADA, Hiromu Takahashi & BUSHI) defeated Katsuyori Shibata, Juice Robinson, KUSHIDA & David Finlay

CHAOS (Kazuchika Okada, Hirooki Goto, Gedo & Jado) defeated Suzuki-gun (Minoru Suzuki, Takashi Iizuka, Yoshinobu Kanemaru & Taichi)

Yuji Nagata defeated Tanga Roa in a first round match in the New Japan Cup 2017

Toru Yano defeated Tama Tonga in a first round match in the New Japan Cup 2017

Bad Luck Fale defeated Michael Elgin in a first round match in the New Japan Cup 2017

EVIL defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi in a first round match in the New Japan Cup 2017


Author’s Note: Good show from NJPW. The main event between Hiroshi Tanahashi and EVIL was excellent. Looking forward to Day 2 of the New Japan Cup. Should be good.
