John Cena’s First Match Set, Hosting 2016 ESPY Awards

Published

on

– Cena’s first match back in WWE is being advertised locally in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He is set to team with WWE Champion Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose against AJ Styles, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. That could end up being a dark match but it’s interesting that Styles is still being paired with Gallows and Anderson. That would fly in the face of some that think Gallows and Anderson would be turning on Styles at Extreme Rules.

Cena is currently not listed on the house show line-ups after the Memorial Day Raw so it doesn’t appear that he will be on a full-time schedule…at least not yet. Roman Reigns is headlining the “A” house shows and Dean Ambrose is headlining the “B” shows. Things should start to pick up for WWE when more injured stars return.

– Cena will be hosting the 2016 ESPYS. The show will be broadcast live on Wednesday, July 13 at 8pm eastern on ABC from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Cena has been making huge strides outside of WWE as host of “American Grit” on FOX, co-hosting the TODAY show, his role in the “Trainwreck” movie with Amy Schumer and tons of other media appearances. “It is truly an honor to be named host of the 2016 ESPYS,” Cena told WWE.com. “Not only will the biggest names in sports and entertainment come together to recognize some of the most spectacular athletic performances of the year, but we’ll also raise funds for The V Foundation to further much-needed cancer research.”
